Services
Murphy Veterinary Hospital is a well-established, full-service, small animal veterinary hospital providing comprehensive medical, surgical and dental care. We provide a broad spectrum of diagnostic procedures through in-house testing and the use of external laboratories. We also work closely with local practices when special diagnostic procedures are required.
Because of the shorter lifespan of our pets, we stress the importance of an annual physical examination. Thorough check-ups and preventive care can help alleviate serious health problems. Diagnostic and Therapeutic Services: Our hospital is equipped to provide diagnostic and therapeutic services to care for your pets' complete health care needs.
She and her husband, Sage, moved down from Ohio and together they have an adorable shepherd mix puppy named Charlie and a mutt named Norman. Jordan began working at Murphy in the fall of 2018. She has been a technician since 2017 and previously worked at our sister clinic. She and her girlfriend Jennifer, have several horses, dogs and barn cats as well as chickens and a whole bunch of other critters.
Firstly, our pets can't speak, they cannot tell us if they feel off color or unwell or have any other indicators of internal illness. We need to examine them every 6 months as well as run some routine screening tests to detect underlying disease BEFORE it is clinically apparent. Use the age chart below to find your pets age in "people" years and the screening testing recommended for each stage of his or her life. We believe the following tests give us the best chance of helping your pet's live longer, healthier lives.

Their staff and doctors have done so much fornus these past 3 days regaursing our 3 y/o cat whose became very sick. Ww were running out of options to help him but they were able to squeeze him in between other appointments to get his accessed and checked and recommended the surgeon who down the road who ultimately diagnosed and started healing treatment for our Loki.
They even called the surgeon and had everything faxed and ready for us- all we needed to do was make the drive. They called the next day to ask us how the surgery went as well which made me feel so warm- they absolutwlty care about your pets. Ip highly recommend taking your pet to them. When loki is finished with his recovery, well be returning to Murphy's for Amy future check ups and services.

The doctor and nurses at Murphy did so much to help and accommodate me and my suffering old best friend at a time when I had run out of options and really needed help. They were so caring and were willing to do a little extra to make it easier on my dog. It is very obvious the nurses there really care about the animals they treat and that helped me too. Great people and a great vet.

The staff and Vet here are amazing! Super sweet and compassionate! The front waiting area is very nice and smells clean. We just moved to the area so i took my dog in to establish care. She just recently started having seizures and is on meds, but she is still having them and they seem to be getting more violent. They asked me to leave her for the day so they could monitor and the vet would call me with a plan of action and she did just that she was very thorough in explaining everything and even went over cost before anything was done.
I informed her one of the meds had gone from $17-$85 in just a couple months and was getting to costly, so she took the time to research the drug and see if their was somewhere else i could get it cheaper. This to me is above and beyond service and i am so glad we have found them!

Our dog was struck by a boat propeller on Thursday, March 17th. We rushed her straight to Murphy as that is where we have gone for well checks and it was the closest place we knew to take her. They immediately took her back to assess her injuries, and provided us water and words of comfort. The veterinarian, Dr. Nesius came out every 5-10 mins the entire hour and a half she was working to stabilize our dog.
She had major lacerations down to the bone and a fractured ulna, so we were referred out to an emergency clinic in Pensacola where she had surgery to close her leg. We took her to the emergency clinic in Destin for bandage changes over the weekend and on Monday morning I called Murphy and asked if they could fit us in for a bandage change. They told me the relief vet would be in at 9am and they could let me know at that time.
As promised they called me just after 9am to bring her in that afternoon. It just so happened that the relief vet, Dr. Pate, was the same doc that did her bandage change at Emergency in Destin the night before. He offered to close her open wound some more while she was sedated for the bandage change. On Tuesday, we came back again and saw Dr. Nesius for the first time since the accident.
She was absolutely blown away at the healing considering the extent of injury. She said our dog was so calm and accepting of care the day of the incident that she wanted to try to not sedate her for the bandage change, and she was successful. We saw her again 2 days later for another bandage change and updated x-rays. She immediately sent them off for opinions from orthopedic surgeons.
We are still very much in the thick of this and working to get our baby back to her new normal, but we honestly are just so grateful to have an office, staff, and such caring veterinarians to care for our dog. I truly hope they know how much they have helped us through this traumatic experience.

Have been taking my girls here for about a year since they were each 9wks old and the staff loves them. They are functioning with a curbside pickup and phone consultation right now, but have always been quick to give updates, answer all my questions, and they're thorough on wellness checks/vaccines. The DVM are also very kind and patient on the phone, which I appreciate. Love these ladies!

I took my cat(Billy) in for an emergency, and even though the staff were already working through their lunch time for everything else they had going on, they made time for Billy so that I wouldnt have to take him to the E.R. This ended up saving me so much money and stress! And now thanks to them, Billy has seemed so much more happy and cuddly. You can tell he hasn't felt this way in a long time and I cant thank Murphy Vet enough.
You guys are heros that dont get as much appreciation as you deserve. You all are an absolutely amazing group of people. Thank you for all that you do and all that you've done!

Very compassionate and knowledgeable staff! Dr. Nesius is really sweet and thorough. I got my kitten neutered here for an incredibly low price, when I brought him home he acted like nothing even happened. Unfortunately, I'm really bad with names, but vet techs and the receptionist were really nice and patient with me. I'm one of those cat moms who freaks out about the smallest things and they are always there to help me and work me in their busy schedule as soon as possible.

Murphy Veterinary Hospital is amazing - my pup had been sick for a few days and they were able to find a way to squeeze me in between appointments during a holiday week to see what was wrong. They gave me estimates along the way, and called me at every turn to let me know what was going on as they tested him and did thorough exams. They prescribed meds and I'm happy to say he's feeling much better - and the final price was also considerably less than the estimates, which I've never had happen. I appreciate you all, especially Alex who worked so hard to get us in! Customer for life here.

Friendliest, most caring staff I've ever encountered at a veterinary hospital. It is truly a pleasure calling for appointments and taking my animals in. The staff truly care about the animals, and it shows. The doctors are caring, answer all questions and are extremely knowledgeable. Easy access and lots of parking too, which is a plus.
