Lived down the street from their first( I believe) location on McCallum@ Coit half a lifetime ago. Now I am head of the grooming dept at the Richardson location. Stop in with all your furry friends. Dog, cat, all breeds. We have daycare, overnight, as well as long term boarding. Let our experienced staff care for your pets as if they were our own.

Boarded my dog for 11 days. Included playing in the doggie day care. Observed her via webcam. She was having fun and made friends. She was happy to see me when I picked her up. Tge technician told me how well behaved and sweet she was. She was bathed, had trimmed nails and smelled good. I definately will board here again.

I told the staff that my 33 lb dog needed to be in the large dog day care when I dropped her off. I saw on the cameras she was in the small dog day care. I called and asked that she be moved, and they did. The next day she was in the small dog day care again. They said they would call if there was a change and they didn't. They are irresponsible and on top of not listening to their customers they do not play with the dogs in daycare. Watch the cameras.

This was a disappointing experience. The place is understaffed and it shows. One employee was working between 2 rooms constantly watching the other room through the window. I'm sure the employee worked hard. she was just in charge of too much for one person. We asked for our dog to have water breaks which they agreed to that never happened. I understand my dog has need and will not drink in front of other dogs, but no fresh water was available in the room and she was not taken out for any special breaks.

She has a congenital kidney disease and she needs lots of water to ensure hydration. Don't commit to something you cannot meet. And don't take dogs in multiple rooms if you can't staff 2 separate rooms. There were only 4 big dogs. so if you can't staff it just don't take the business. I would ask a lot of questions and will not be bringing my dog back.

So unfortunate. I'm sure the employees try hard but it's just too much for one person to bounce between 2 rooms. Webcams are public so watch for yourself before committing to drop your dog off.

I love everyone at this location, they really treat my dog like he is their family too. When Ramsey was injured off site and needed emergency spinal surgery, they were so kind and followed his recovery. Angie, the manager is awesome! Love chatting with her at drop off and pick up everyday :

My kitten wasn't having any of it but the staff member and environment was warm and welcoming. When I came to pick him up, he still was not having any of it so the staff member said she might need me to put him in his carrier. While I understand ALL the reasons why customers wouldn't be allowed in the animal care area, I can't help but feel slightly uneasy when I am prohibited. I appreciate her thoughtfulness in the safety and well being of my kitten (and herself, I'm sure) so much that, if necessary, I could place him his carrier.

I've been taking my dog to this location for about a year now and this place deserves 5 stars. They treat me and my dog like family. My dog gets so excited when we arrive and she leaves absolutely exhausted from playing all day. I have also used their boarding and grooming services (would recommend a bath after a long stay). The cameras are a great feature on their website. There are other locations around the metroplex. Thank you to the wonderful employees at Pappy's, y'all are the best.

Needed long term (5 months) boarding for our Akita while we live in a nearby hotel and she loves this place. And so do we. The play area for day care is inside and they are temporarily without a trainer or groomer but Angie sees to it that the dogs enjoy their stay. Highly recommend.

Pappy's staff, especially Misty and Angie, have cared for our cockapoo Hank for about 16 years. Misty has been his groomer for a long time and she was always attentive and gentle, even when he didn't appreciate things like getting his ears plucked! She alerted us to problem issues that we could then check with our vet. We had to say goodbye to Hank on Wednesday, right before he was scheduled for another grooming. We highly recommend them for their professionalism and caring attitude.

Beware - We took our 4 month old puppy Oliver in for grooming. 3 days later we noticed he was having explosive diarrhea. Turns out he has Giardia, an intestinal parasite infection. Dogs can become infected by drinking water contaminated with feces. Puppies are very susceptible to it. Oliver is the only animal in our house hold. Nor does he go anywhere with a lot of dogs or have ANY opportunity to drink water containing feces.

No other place, but Pappy's Pet Lodge. $330.00 dollars later in vet bills, we're hopeful he'll get better soon. When you enter the facility you'll notice the foul, unclean animal smell. Especially, the smell of urine. Needless to say, we won't be back.

This was my first time boarding my dogs here. Cody made me feel confident that they would be well taken care of and they were! He also was very accommodating when I had to modify their reservation. Thanks also to Mackenzie for giving me a thorough report of their stay. They both came home very happy and I will definitely bring my dogs back!

I take my dog Savannah here to get her nails trimmed every 2-3 weeks. Great price, flexible hours to come in, and quick service! We love Pappy's!

This was our first time boarding my fiance's dog. We were told to send over the medical records and then when he brings her (Maddie) in the morning, everything should be good to go. En route to Pappy's I receive an email 15 min before getting there that one of her shots was not up to date. Exact words were: "Most vets allow walk-ins. I hear it only take 15-20 minutes." Not only did my fiance have to find a vet that took an hour and a half out of his morning, but then when he finally brings Maddie into Pappy's Lodge, they couldn't board her.

The communication was severely lacking and made the whole experience an inconvenience and a waste of time. I do not recommend this place to anyone. If the customer service is already poor to 'humans', just think the incompetency that your dog will have to endure.

I have nothing but great things to say about this place. Will definitely be using them again. They greeted me knowing who my dogs were before saying anything. They didn't charge me for the doggie day care. (I did 2 days and they didn't charge because wasn't enough dogs) This is by far the cheapest place and my dogs still came home tired. Ranger and Weston loved it. The staff here was great and gave me a report card on how they did.

I was nervous to leave my dogs for day care since they have never been before and especially Pixie because she is 6 years old with no boarding experience (and very anxious around other dogs/people). However, from the moment I dropped them off to picking them up I felt reassured and encouraged by the staff. I was able to watch my dogs throughout the day on the webcam.

They also gave me a great progress report about the day and how it went/who they played with. I peeked in (or maybe stalked) on the web cam quite a bit throughout the day and didn't notice a lot of human interaction (besides coming in to clean up mess). However, I did not get to see when they were outside or during nap time. So there may have been more interaction during those times. Overall, it was a great experience for our first time with Pappy's. I loved the vibe I received from the staff at drop off and pick up. Also, I was surprised to find out when I picked them up that the first visit was complimentary. Bonus!

RIPPED OFF AND UPSET at the unknown conditions my dogs stayed in. I paid $316.60 to board Phoenix and Harlow from Tues, June 9th @ 8 am - Sunday, June 14th @ 530 pm with a bath before they came home. They both came home with a rash on their bellies. A visit to our vet (Wesley Taylor D.V.M. @ Highlands-El Dorado Veterinary Hospital) and the diagnosis was staph infection.

I now have paid an additional $343.38 to treat the staph infection. They are on 18 days of antibiotics, 10 days of steroids each and have to be bathed 2xs a week in a medicated shampoo. My veterinarian, said for such a quick onset they would've had to stay in a kennel that was infected or wasn't cleaned well. The fact that my dogs stayed 5 nights in possible squalor, itching pisses me off.

My dogs are pitbulls, they don't whine they just suffer stoically - until someone gives a damn. And these dogs live in an immaculate home, courtesy of an OCD-military boyfriend. My dogs are now crated from 745 am to 545pm - while we're at work, because the medications flush out their system, making them more thirsty and have to urinate more often.

I came home today and let them out of the crate. Phoenix couldn't hold her bladder and she peed by the door. Her head hung low, eyes apologizing. 5 nights at this place. My dogs came back with an infection. I'm out $660. And you're effin with my dog's self-esteem and upsetting our normal routine. I wish I had never brought my dogs to this place - it's cost me more money and been a complete inconvenience, to have had my dogs stay in unclean conditions. Honestly, I wish I could have dropped more cuss words in this review than I have.

5 for 5. First of all, Stephanie is GREAT! I recently moved to the area and was looking for a day care place to take my pitbull who is very friendly. This place has exceeded all expectations. I can honestly say the dogs here get their FULL amount of playtime! The staff are very friendly and knowledgable, I know my pup is in good hands while I'm at work. I love getting report cards and updates because as any dog lover knows, their pet is like their child! 5 stars+!

My dog Mitchell look forward to coming to Pappy's Pet Lodge. Don't let the word lodge fool you. This brand new state-of-the-art facility is like the Mandarin Oriental for your dog. sparkling clean with every surface white down with disinfectant every 15 minutes. Unobtrusively of course. You do not just drop your loved one off.they ask for every special need at mealtimes and snacks. Epic five star service including video cams so you can watch your high end small breed Pom on your Las Vegas vacation. This safety and comfort. $24 for a large pet suite. I recommend Pappy's Pet Lodge and Resort to everyone with a pet.

I take my dog here for grooming. Mystie is wonderful to work with and knows her stuff. My dog really really dislikes the blow dryer, so he can be a little tough to work with. The bathers are so calm and really try to work with him. They even used some treats to get him used to the dryer. My favorite part about bringing my dog to get groomed here is that I can assure my dog is taken care of very well and always comes back out looking beautiful!

Well, I finally returned to Pappy's after taking my animals home for the winter break. Early part of the semester wasn't as busy, so I was able to exercise my dogs a lot more. However, it's that time of the semester when things start picking up, and my dogs deserve to still be socialized and played with. I'm happy to be back and so are they. Molina is always exhausted after her time at Pappy's, and she has also started training with Mary at the Ohio location.

She is a slow learner, but Mary is patient (and teaching me to be patient) with her. I also noticed that Griffey was getting a little more aggressive with dogs ever since I stopped taking him to Pappy's. He usually warms up to them after a bit, but he was becoming a mean doggie to other dogs on walks. Seeing him on the webcams at Pappy's today makes me realize I really shouldn't have stopped.

He needs to be socialized so he doesn't get so nervous or anxious about other dogs. This is so good for him and her (and not to mention me). I also noticed some new employees at Pappy's, but it is nice to know that they pick up on your dog's names really quick and the service hasn't been lacking. Sadly, prices have increased :( So I might not be able to take them as often as before, but with the deal this week for free days of daycare with a purchase of a package might just make it all worth it.

AMAZING! I boarded my 2 boxers this weekend and have not been happier with the service provided by Pappys Pet Lodge on PGBT. I called a few times each day to check on the pups to see how they were doing and everyone I spoke with was pleasant, friendly, patient and knew which dogs were mine. I have tried other places and NONE compare to this. My dogs were clean and smelled fantastic (and no, I didn't get them groomed/bathed, even though that is an option) and all of the bedding that I had taken was washed and folded. I immediately knew this facility was clean and safe. the staff at Pappys Pet Lodge on PGBT is the only place I trust to watch my dogs.

I took my dog Griffon here for 14 nights while I was out of town. The front desk was very friendly dropping off and picking up. I left my own food and instructions in the bag. They followed it perfectly! I paid for 7 half days of daycare to keep my dog busy and he came back happy and healthy. This location is great and I will use them again in the future!
