First and last time. Wont be back. TVMB complaint and investigation has begun into the "extern student" they used and Dr Morris, the supervising vet. They hire unlicensed, not-yet-graduated incompetent "students" to mishandle your animals IN ANOTHER ROOM WHERE YOU CANT SEE WHATS GOING ON, who HITS animals ON THE HEAD while theyre drawing blood, causing them to bite due to painful mishandling and THEN REPORT YOU TO THE COUNTY, WHERE YOU ARE NOW LEGALLY CAUGHT UP IN THE SYSTEM.

By law, vets are "assume the occupational risk" but not this one! Now, youre RESPONSIBLE for the LEGAL AND FINANCIAL COSTS for 10 days of quarantine, ANOTHER vet visit (not to these psychotic pos of course), where you will HAVE THE COUNTY SHOW UP TO YOUR HOME IN THEIR MARKED VEHICLES, and be forces to upend your whole life over the next 2 weeks bc Harris county will continue to legally throw you in court and seize your animals. ALL BC THEY CANNOT PROPERLY SUPERVISE THE MORONS THEY HIRE.

Everything was fine until f-ing moron Ignacio comes into the patient room (after taking 15 mins just to draw blood!) to say "your cat bit one of our techs and she has to report it and youre gonna get a call from the county". NO VET OR ANYONE IN CHARGE OF THE CLINIC EVER EVER CAME TO TALK TO ME.isnt that courtesy and good business practice to talk to an owner about the abuse their animal just suffered in their clinic, leading to a bite, leading to the county showing up to your house 2x and court and legal troubles? Excuse me? Im a frigging licensed vet tech with 24 yrs in my own 501c3 rescue and medical relief tech work, and earlier I watched this incompetent "student" not even be able to check respiratory or heartbeat effectively, and now youre saying my exceptionally gentle 8 lb, 6 yr old cat, whos never bitten anyone in his whole life, bit this student while you stuck a needle in his inner thigh to draw blood and it has to be reported to the county?! Why? TURNS OUT.Harris County investigated the clinic and took reports.and the EXTERN student was physically being abusive to my cat during the blood draw!

And its on their idiotic employee statments too that this student was hitting my cat ON THE HEAD during a blood draw and he bit her thumb. These incompetent, spiteful, immature techs took him into the other room where I couldn't see what was going on. The reports and records are clear on this and TVMB will be investigating the entire staff in the clinic, except for Dr Lawrence who wasnt there and spoke with me at length about the situation and promised better service next time.

And their staff is sending me hateful messages thru this Yelp review! (I screenshotted it and submitted it with the TVMB complaint for unprofessional demeanor and ethics) Their hatred in their statements tries to cover up their incompetence. Im PAYING you overpriced $1100 for 2 cats' exam and some bloodwork and this is an extra legal and financial "screw you" to deal with. And, I wasnt going to say anything about how f-ing pissed off I was bc I knew.

I KNEW.one of the employees would just argue with me to save face at the clinic. They realized I was pissed when I said I wasnt ever coming back here. They were talking to him right on the other side of the wall about what he said to me, and he LIED. Straight up! And sure enough, here comes the f*t longhaired tech wanting to ARGUE with me about how Im wrong about what he said to me (she wasnt even in the room!).that he didnt say that.that he meant something else.it isnt us who has to report it.blah blah blah. WHO WAS SUPERVISING TANYA HERNANDEZ THE STUDENT FROM HITTING MY CAT ON THE HEAD AND HANDLING HIM INCORRECTLY?

It wasnt MY CHOICE to hire this student and have her incompetent hands on my cat. I have no liability in this. And.the dark haired f*t one continued arguing with me as I literally walked out the door! Waaaaay overpriced bloodwork and a bite report to the county. I wish I HAD NEVER STEPPED FOOT IN YOUR CLINIC. Do not recommend. You ruined a perfectly otherwise great visit, pillaged me for $1100 and you sicc your female tech on me to run her mouth and defend her lying friend as Im literally walking out the door.

Pretty good experience with them so far. We just moved to the area and then the pandemic happened so the hospital still offers curbside service, which is very nice. We haven't yet been inside or met the Vet personally, but we had a great experience so far.

Having recently relocated, we were looking for a new vet for our fur babies to call "Home". well we've definitely found it Dr. Martinez was quick to help us when we had an emergency with our dog upon first arriving to TX, then today we had all three of our fur kiddos (dog, cat, guinea pig) there for shots & tags & nail trims. the techs and Dr. Martinez were so wonderful & patient with each of them. The staff was so pleasant to deal with and accommodating for our schedule. Thank you FM 1960 crew for taking good care of our babies

Like most of the reviewers here, I too took ALL our pets there for years, without any issues. We travel a lot, and sometimes for periods of 10-15 days at once. They always took care of the pets perfectly fine. with previous doctor. When it changed ownership, we were NOT told anything about it, but it was very obvious it had changed, because only one person from last staff was left behind, but the rest of the staff, were not just new people, but very self centered, very snotty, very rude, even.

In particular the "manager". I changed vets ever since, and politely asked them to please fax my pets records to new vet, and confirm with a phone call when done, because we were getting ready to travel. This manager confirmed to me he had sent records. When I dropped pets right before catching a plane, they had no records! We called old vet and I had to hold vet responsible for it, and threaten to sue, in order to get the records, something they are obligated to do by law.

I would NOT take pets there, pets cannot complain when they are mistreated, and the twisted, selfish, non-caring attitude I witness from male manager, tells me he takes revenge on pets whenever he does not like or agree with someone, that's the type. Prices also went up. I sincerely hope that a place like this is now, closes for lack of clients. I am sure it will eventually. That is the reason I am reviewing them.

If I could leave a rating of less than one star I would. We have been taking our fur babies to this veterinary office for over 12 years. Ever since Dr. Simpson sold the practice to the new corporation, the level of service has dropped while the prices has substantially increased. We used to get our babies' nails trimmed for $12.50, now it's nearly $19!

For our two dogs, we paid nearly $1,500 for their annual visit. Nearly $700 of that was the heart worm preventative! $700! That's outrageous. We have a total of seven fur babies and they refuse to give any discount for bringing in multiple animals. Well, they don't have to worry about us bringing any of them anymore.

I have been taking my boxer there since he was 6 weeks old and my English mastiff since she was 4 months old. All the staff is super friendly and my boxer goes to the back like a champ, my mastiff is a huge whiny pony and scared of a fly. But they always calm her down before taking her back. They have also never judged us for raw feeding them either! Thankfully he has never had anything medically wrong with him. *Fingers crossed he will never have any* The mastiff on the other hand had to be spayed after getting sick from one of her heats. The staff was was phenomenal with her especially with her after care. Highly recommend FM 1960 hands down!

We took our pet because of a fever and some gas. After xrays and an array of tests, costing over $600.00, the doctor deduced that our pet was dying. Our two year old dog evidently had a twisted stomach but was not evident on the x-rays. She insisted we take her to the emergency hospital asap for exploratory surgery. Costing between 4 to 6 thousand dollars.

Being a saturday, our dog might not live to Monday. Later that afternoon the vet called changing her diagnosis to an obstruction and still insisted we take our pet to the emergency hospital. We had to ask more than 8 times to treat the fever first. After her medication our beautiful German shepherd (following day) was running around and playing and eating like she always does.

And now 2 weeks later our German shepherd is a picture of health. The money hungry scare tactics were beyond anything I have ever experienced. I will definitely not ever return or recommend this place.

Dr. Simpson has been our vet since 1996. He saved our first lab's life, and now takes care of our current labs. Great vet, great staff, highly recommend.

Friendly, fast service. I feel very comfortable with my dogs in the hands of Dr. Simpson and his staff. The office is also very clean and easy to get to.

This place euthanizes perfectly healthy pets. You can take your healthy animal here and ask them to kill it and they will do it without asking questions. I would never trust this so-called animal hospital with my animal.

I have been going to 1960 Animal Hospital since 2003. I have since moved further away, but still go there. Kendra, Anna and Dr. Simpson are the best. I have taken 4 dogs there throughout the years and will continue! Great people, care and knowledge!

I've been coming for over s year now and also board my 4 dogs at the facility. All the staff have been especially wonderful with my Gt Dane who was mis handled by a previous veterinary practice in Spring and who developed s strong dislike for the vets and was very hard to give him an exam let alone his shots, without him becoming extremely stressed. The staff have worked with him and been very kind!

I hate to write poor reviews, because I know how much more negatively they affect new, potential clients than positive reviews. With this being said, I can not neglect writing. I came here because it was close and convenient for an animal who dislikes travel and a small family at home. I had the appointment which went alright, except that I had to ask for them to look at my animal's teeth.

They didn't look at ears, which I think need attention, but I was forgetful and didn't bring up. The problem was after the visit, the vet and tech went to the back and kept the door open and then proceeded to talk to each other about how poor of a condition my animals grooming habits were. The door was open. I'm an adult. I brought my animal for grooming problems.

I wouldn't ever tolerate a doctor letting me hear them talk about how overweight I was and "nasty", to use the exact words they said, to another employee. If there is an issue, confronting the patient about it is the way to help the animal, not waiting until you're behind "closed doors" to (from what I took it as) make fun of the animal or owner.

It hurt my feelings, and made me feel bad. Vets are supposed to help you learn about how to care for your animal's well being, I thought. Not collect a pay check, perform a 5 minute look over and then make fun of you and your animal. I'm sorry, but building rapport with the owners is the only way you build business. I hate to write poorly, because we all have days where we forget our surroundings and that not everyone is in the field in which you work, but I felt so bad I've searched out another vet who can work with me to help my animals be healthier, while supporting the person who cares about them.

This place is amazing. Their staff is very friendly and knowledgeable and help you when you in need. First time we went after we rescued our dog they waived the fee. next time we went was to get her spayed and now you can't tell she has been. When my dog developed a bump under her eye we went and saw Dr. Daniel L. Simpson. and he looked at her and said it was a cyst.

And he had the techs ring up what it would be and he said no charge for vet visit. We boarded her during IKE and she was treated very well. Only grieveance I had was i asked for playtime which she didn't get.

Buddy has always been very happy with his excellent doctors and their staff. He has boarded there occasionally and everything always goes well. After years of using this clinic, I can enthusiastically recommend it

Amazingly irresponsible. For a routine dental cleaning for my perfectly healthy dog, they either missed a heart condition into their pre-diagnosis that should have exclued him from the procedure or worse, caused the condition that has clminated in terminal congestive heart failure. Adding insult, they refused to answer any of my wife's questions about our dog's new symptoms without paying for an additional office visit. If you care about your pet or your pocketbook, run away quickly!
