Houston Dog Ranch

The Houston Dog Ranch is the best! The facility is top notch! I board my boy there and he attends pack days at the ranch! He loves going to the ranch! It's like his second home! We love the staff at the dog ranch! They are the absolute best! I know my boy is getting the best care!

They are amazing with our 3 legged/tripod pup! They treat every dog like their own and take great care of our sweet dog while he is there! From special playtime, to the great Cabins they stay in, I cannot recommend this place enough! Our dog absolutely LOVES staying here!

Our dog had the absolute best time. He got pool time, fetch time, walks, treats, and play time. Everything he loves! I was constantly updated with pictures anytime I asked, which I loved! Although I'm sure he got dirty and muddy, he was bathed and clean when we picked him up!

The staff at the Houston Dog Ranch is amazing! I boarded my dog for a week in February when I was out of the country. My dog has anxiety/allergy issues and ended up aggravating some hot spots while I was away. The dog ranch contacted me with concerns and sent me photos of his itchy spots. They arranged for him to have a medicated bath and called me with daily updates on his status.

One of the staff members was a veterinary assistant and recommended to have his areas shaved to prevent further irritation, which really helped. The staff went above and beyond to ensure my dog was well cared for and even sent a team member out to purchase a soft cone collar for my pup. When we picked him up, he was happy and areas were healing well. I felt so helpless being abroad with my dog in pain, but the Dog Ranch made sure he was well loved and cared for. Cannot recommend them enough!

Here we go another night and the dog ranch that whole area a dogs crying and howling it's freezing and he is howling that where that scream was the night we all heard something happening definitely ILLEGAL POOR DOG WHOEVER OWNS IT THEY HAVE MORE TO LOSE THEN US AND OUR PITBULL COULDN'T HELP BUT WANNA DRAG US THERE still crying there stake out the place late whenever, besides ppl stalking my apt and many of them on camera

I recently adopted a very anxious rescue with separation anxiety, so I was worried about leaving him with anyone for a long weekend. I'm so happy I chose Houston Dog Ranch. I've know about them for nearly a decade because it's where my childhood dog would stay when we went on family trips nearly a decade ago. My parents spoiled my dog and would only give him the best of the best - so I knew I had to chose Houston Dog Ranch.

The team was VERY accommodating and friendly and sent me photo and email updates - which I really appreciated. The day I was dropping off my dog they were having an adoption day with a number of different local rescue groups around Houston. Their facility is beautiful and I wasn't surprised to hear that they've started to host a number of these rescue events.

You can tell these people really care about dogs. Excited to enroll my dog in their pack play on Wednesdays - he needs to make some dog friends and I know this is the place to do it.

They take wonderful care of the dogs and they have amazing facilities. Excellent training programs too. Lots of regulars so they fill up quickly!

I WILL NEVER TAKE MY DOG THERE AGAIN! People are incredibly rude, unprofessional and for a place that supposedly specializes in dog care, they act like they couldn't care less about dogs. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!

I dropped our two dogs off for the first time for a weekend stay. They were happy, healthy and clean. When I picked them up three days later both dogs were filthy, they reeked of urine and were clearly distressed. The staff was oblivious. When I pointed out how disgusting they were a woman said "we can give them a bath if you'd like". I declined, wanting to get away from there.

I was lucky that my regular groomer could take them in immediately and bathe them, because I couldn't bring them home in that condition. On top of everything else, they've both had diarrhea since they came home. I now have to have my car detailed because of the stench, my carpets cleaned and prob a trip to the vet. What a disaster.

Had to go out of town super last minute and was referred to Houston Dog Ranch by a guest where I work. My dog is usually an anxious mess with strangers but after having her boarded for approximately 24 hours (2 boarding days), she seemed in such high spirits and not completely traumatized when I picked her up! Her playtime notes made me so happy! I love the bunkhouse idea vs a bunch of kennels in a large echo-y building.

The staff is so nice. The property is absolutely beautiful! Definitely look forward to boarding her here again for any future trips! Also! I think pictures of boarded dogs during playtimes or even just hanging out in their areas would be amazing for the dog owners with separation anxiety. But yeah 5/5 experience.

I travel often for work and am glad to have found Houston Dog Ranch for our boarding needs. My sweet pittie is a one lady type of dog, not super comfortable meeting new dogs or people, but he did well in the care of Houston Dog Ranch. It was sometimes difficult to get ahold of them in the morning hours, but I found comfort knowing my baby had lots of space to himself during boarding. Thanks Houston Dog Ranch we will be back!

Love Houston Dog Ranch. Dusty had been going for the last year (goes about 2-3 times per year when we go away) and we won't go anywhere else. They take great care of my dog, attentive and have great staff. They have a daycare as well and looks like a ton of fun. They have a dog bone shaped puppy pool.

Condescending staff, very rude and management doesn't know how to receive people of color. Customer service classes are well needed!

First time boarding my pets here and I know they truly enjoyed themselves. Had an incident at another boarding location but no issues here. Staff is well trained and prepared in dealing/working with large dogs. Love the fact they take your dogs out and play with them as opposed to just taking them out to use the restroom. Staff was so friendly and knowledgeable. Kennel room size was perfect for my dogs and I truly appreciated their amenities. Will definitely board my dogs here again. Love! I can finally have piece of mind when I need to board them.

Would not recommend Houston Dog Ranch to anyone I know. Most importantly I want to point out that he was returned in very bad condition. He had a severe bladder infection and a UTI. The vet was very concerned for the amount of time he had this it was so severe. When I called to speak with a manager no one even asked how Beau was doing, basically just took my name down and told me someone would return my call.

Of course no one did, so I called back. I finally got in touch with a manager who had nothing really to say about it. I was very respectful, mainly was calling so this didn't happen to another dog. I was very hesitant to even write a review but what really has upset me is it's been two weeks and no one has even called to see how Beau is doing.

Very very unprofessional. Now a little insight on the actual training program: We sent our 5 month old golden retriever to the two week program. We met with the trainer before to discuss what we wanted them to work on while he was there. When I went to pick him up I arrived at 11 they then sent me away because the trainers were at lunch, even though they scheduled me at that time.

When I came back 3 hours later they went over what they had worked on the last two weeks, which was how to sit while using a collar to pull on his throat. Basically a waste of a lot of money to learn nothing. Like I said before WOULD NOT RECOMMEND.

I got the opportunity to train with Michelle in Dock Diving. She worked with me and my 2 Golden Retrievers. She is absolutely amazing and a tremendous resource. Her experience and passion for the sport shines through in her attentive and positive methods towards training. I learned more in an hour than I have in a year through other methods. She did not rush us through and took time to answer our questions.

She gave us training tips all the way to the car. I can't wait for more classes with her and I have no doubt she's going to help us improve tremendously. Thank you for Michelle!

This is the best place I have ever boarded my dog. It is EXTREMELY nice. The customer service is fantastic and I am so confident in the care they give my dog. I was so shocked the first time I visited because it is quiet? When I mentioned they said yes, if a dog is barking they are probably stressed and stressing out the other dogs so they address it when it starts. AMAZING. ALSO this is the only place I've ever boarded my dog that she doesn't come back all crazy and weirded out. It is also expensive, but for the peace of mind that my girl is so well taken care of while I'm gone it is more than worth it.

I love this place! The caregivers are excellent. My standard poodle was there over a week. Unfortunately, I dropped her off with all her meds and the beginnings of a new ear infection. When I picked her up, her ear was clear as bell! They made sure to give her all her meds. She had 3 play times a day, it's a little expensive but well worth having her happy and adjusted when she got home! They gave me a detailed report card of each day! They even called when she was adjusting the first day and wouldn't eat. The BEST!

Great dock diving facility! Michele Scarantino was a great host! This facility is clean, has the perfect amount of shade, everyone was friendly and welcoming. Good vibes! Thanks a bunch Michele!

A true tourist destinantion in Houston, Texas for sure. Completely unique.

I wouldn't board my pup anywhere else. He loves the staff and trainers here and they love on him! I love when they post pictures of him on Facebook for us to see when we have to leave town without him. I have 100% confidence and trust in HDR! We just finished the Puppy Prep I class and are so happy with the results. Can't wait to do more!

BEST place to board your dog(s). They are well taken care of while you are away and have a great time playing and exploring the Ranch. The reason the staff is so friendly and awesome is that they LOVE dogs. My dog also participated in weekly daycare and truly looked forward to it. Cabins are adorable and very clean. Staff is extremely knowledgable and capable. You can see the joy on your dogs face as he/she gets to run the fields without a leash! Try it!

Absolutely nothing compares to Houston Dog Ranch! We once made the mistake of going to another boarder when Dog Ranch was full, and will NEVER make that mistake again. My dog LOVES coming to Houston Dog Ranch for both training and boarding! I love the detailed doggie report cards that they give you after boarding. We have gone through 2 puppy prep classes with Amy, and are currently in our second agility class with Teri and they have both been incredible. If you want to board, be sure to call and book as soon as possible, as they do fill up fast! Lastly, the facility is gorgeous, and always kept clean and well maintained.

Since we were going on an extended vacation across the pond, we decided to give this place a try since they have private rooms. Another plus is they are near the place I usually board my babies so I was familiar with the neighborhood. 1st: The staff is awesome. It was suggested I take my pups there for a temperament test & to stay the day in a cabin.

I loved how they handled my dogs. There was also plenty of staff on hand & each greeted Ezra & Emmett 2nd: The place is secure. I mean S-E-C-U-R-E. The front gate is always closed & the place is fenced & cross-fenced. 3rd: OMGersh, this place is totally cute! The cabins look like you are walking in a Old West town. The place is also B-I-G. For those of you who would like to try out the day care, there is a bone shaped swimming pool! 4th: Very clean.

The office, yards, parking lot & dog areas are kept nice. Unfortunately, they are not open on Saturdays. However you can make an appointment for a Sunday pickup which was very easy to arrange. Just give your payment info & show up the next day to pick up your fur-baby. When I picked up the boys, they gave me a daily report card on how they did during their stay. It was fun to read. I will say this is the fastest my dogs re-acclimated after time spent away from the house. So I guess they give this place 5 stars too!

A really great place to board your dog. The person answering the phone is really kind, and friendly. We had booked our dog's stay in advance and everything was set. Easy peasy. At the last minute, I called (a couple of hours before they closed for the day) to see if I could bring Molly in a day earlier than expected. I was met with such kindness on the phone.

And they were so flexible and patient with us and were able to get Molly in a day earlier. Everything was handled exceptionally and we were so appreciate and thankful. Molly is a nervous Nelly and we worry about leaving her. She was in great hands. When you pick up your dog, they provide you with a daily summary of how your dog did each day of their stay.

This is one of the best boarding places I have taken my dog. (Warning: it's pricey) My dog got his own cabin which had a private yard. I added two 20-minute play sessions per day so he could get out of his cabin area and run around a bit. The play yards are very big, grassy areas. For play time, an employee takes your dog out and plays with them one-on-one.

The service and facilities are awesome, so you definitely get your money's worth. The employees are great and made me feel very comfortable when I left my dog and picked him up. (Usually I am really worried when I leave my dog in boarding facilities.) What I really love about Houston Dog Ranch is that they gave me a report card at the end of his stay which showed his daily status.

That gives me much more peace of mind! I docked one star from my rating because the one thing that I wish Houston Dog Ranch could provide is daycare for my dog while he is in boarding. They told me that their daycare has been full for years now. Too bad.

This place is amazing! We hardly ever board our dogs but when we do this is our first choice! Our German shepherds are a little more needy than other dogs but they still take them in for us and I am always surprised by their attention to detail! I think they read the files about each dogs preferences before they meet us at the front! (like don't put a harness on this one, this one prefers a female handler, put a rug down in the room so my dog (who slips) can walk better etc.) I'm always impressed and the accommodations are incredible.

Private play times (however many you want per day), a kong filled with treats at night, bones during the day. My dogs are seriously in heaven! Plus they get l a private cabin with a front porch! Lol The owner is really nice too! I'm glad I got to meet her, very kind and my dogs warmed up to her more quickly than most.

Recently attended their "Control Yourself" 6 week class with my chocolate lab and I thought it was well taught. Amy was great and the materials they email you beforehand are very helpful. Great reference materials to go back to! The facility was clean and easy to find. The class was the perfect size (5 dogs). If it were much bigger I think it'd be too crowded for the space.

I plan on returning for their loose leash walking workshop. I've never boarded my dog here since they seem to always be booked! I'd like to one day but it seems you have to book months in advance and I usually don't have that much notice for my work trips. Overall very satisfied with the training program.
