At Northeast School For Dogs, we provide obedience training through a residency program. Your dog will stay at our tiny in-home kennel to learn the basic commands: Heel, Sit, Come, Down, and Stay. Proper manners are taught to eliminate unwanted behaviors such as jumping and nipping. Separation anxiety and housetraining problems can be solved .

All training is done using praise and encouragement as motivation. Each dog is trained according to their specific needs by USDTA trainer, Melissa Houston. Don't send your dog to a boarding kennel when you go away on vacation, send him to school. Basic obedience, housetraining, good manners, socialization, fear, and aggression are all addressed.
At Northeast School For Dogs we have a small boarding kennel in the lower level of our home. We are able to give your dog the personal attention he needs while you are away. Most kennels let their dogs out twice per day and lock up for the night at 6 p.m. At Northeast School For Dogs we bring the dogs out every few hours to maintain housetraining.
Many behavioral problems are the result of bored or frustrated behavior. If your dog is allowed to run off that extra energy, he will come home tired and satisfied. Our kennel features two large outdoor play areas. Your dog is secure within our six foot high chain link perimeter fences. Non-aggressive dogs are turned out to run together in groups to encourage socialization and play. Your dog will receive hours of fun and exercise and come home content after a full day of activity.
We wanted to Thank Melissa from Northeast School for Dogs for helping Tucker our 9 month Newfoundland puppy become a good citizen. While we tended to his physical being with proper nutrition and veterinary care, she worked on his mental being. She took Tucker for 2 weeks into her school and taught him in a safe controlled setting how to listen and execute commands.

My name is Linda Palmerino I have been going to Northeast School for Dogs for at least 18 years. Melissa, owner and trainer is outstanding, my dogs have never skipped a beat after their stay they are happy and well adjusted because of the care they receive with Melissa. I have no worries when leaving my dogs with her. Melissa is on site 24 hours! I have also had my dog trained with Melissa and she is by far the best trainer that you could use, Northeast School for Dogs is OUTSTANDING!

We had our 6 month old lab stay here for 2 weeks for the boarding with training while we were away. She was in need of training to improve and fix some bad habits, and learn some new good behavoir. We picked her up and immediately noticed the big improvement! No more nipping, pulling when walking, jumping, as well as other things such as not going in "our space" and learning to stay in one place.
It was night and day. Melissa is amazing and not only thoroughly went through everything at pickup, but within a week she drove a good distance to our home on the weekend so that she could go through the training with all family members in our environment. So not only is our puppy WAY better behaved, but she also did really well staying at her first boarding as it is very nicely set up, safe and comfortable. I highly recommend NE School for Dogs for boarding, training or both!

Possibly the best trainer we have ever taken one of our Shepherds too. She also has a day care and boarding. prices are excellent and I never worry about leaving my dog with her. when there outdoors playing they are always supervised. Our dog goes once a week just to keep him socialized with other dogs and if he needs some direction she makes sure he gets that as well.
