Our mission is to provide the highest level of veterinary care for our patients, and to deliver outstanding service to our clientele. A local, family-owned and operated hospital serving the Houston area for over 50 years, Memorial-610 Hospital for Animals develops life-long relationships with pets, their families, and the community. We are proud that our group of veterinary specialists here at Memorial-610 Hospital for Animals is unmatched anywhere else on the globe!

Our team of doctors includes two Board-Certified specialists who are Diplomates of the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners, and one who holds dual Board Certification as a Feline Specialist, as well.
Services
Memorial-610 Hospital for Animals is a well-established, full-service, small animal veterinary hospital providing comprehensive medical, surgical and dental care. We provide a broad spectrum of diagnostic procedures through in-house testing and the use of external laboratories. We also work closely with local practices when special diagnostic procedures are required.
We were established as "Memorial-610 Animal Clinic" in 1968 by Austin W. Weedn, D.V.M., a member of the first class to graduate from the Oklahoma A&M (now Oklahoma State University) College of Veterinary Medicine in 1951. Dr. Weedn first practiced nearby, in an old "Quonset hut" building on North Post Oak Road.
Because of the shorter lifespan of our pets, Memorial-610 Hospital for Animals stresses the importance of an annual physical examination. Thorough check-ups and preventive care can help alleviate serious health problems. Diagnostic and Therapeutic Services: Our hospital is equipped to provide diagnostic and therapeutic services to care for your pets' complete health care needs.
Our veterinary nurses and the entire paraprofessional staff aid the doctors in providing the care and services at the hospital. They are committed to excellence and care for our patients as if they were their own. Blythe also earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Science at Texas A&M University in 1997.

A friend recommended this clinic to me, and I'm so glad she did. The entire staff was great! Adel was very friendly and helpful over phone and email, and she got authorization to work my dog in last minute. The front desk staff was welcoming upon arrival. Jennifer, the technician, was also very kind and knowledgeable, and she took very good care of my dog. Dr. Dewhurst was very thorough and was also extremely nice to both me and my dog. This clinic is full of people who obviously care a lot about their patients and who are all very good at what they do. I can't say enough good things. Thank you all!

I would never recommend these people. They may be good vets but without a doubt they are the rudest most disrespectful animal clinic I have ever encountered. If you have an appointment don't expect it to be kept by them. Their word is no good I had an appointment for 9AM. I arrived 10 mins early like you would for a regular doctor. They made me sit for 25 minutes in a cold exam room and never updated me on what to expect for the vet to get to me.

At 9:15 I left angry that all they would tell me is because I'm a new client they needed time to review our records. I have a 5 year old dog with no issues and no records to speak of. These people are liars and they are rude as I've ever met.

We have been using Mem 610 hospital for animals for a few years. The staff are excellent. The doctors genuinely care for the animals and treat them like their own pets. Very knowledgable and actually try and save you money rather than looking for ways to charge more like some vets. As a result you may find they are often busy so try be proactive. However we have had emergencies as well and they were able to help us out!

We love Memorial 610! Have been taking my dogs here for years and have only had great experiences. I have a vet aggressive dog and the staff is absolutely amazing with her- we have seen Dr. Freeny, Pittenger, Dewhirst, and Rose and they have all been incredible. Jen is very patient and kind- my normally very scared dog loves her! Would absolutely recommend this clinic.

Another excellent annual physical for Colt - your staff and DR. Rose are awesome! The only negative was that I couldn't schedule Colt's teeth cleaning until June 8th!

Experience is always great, everyone I've interacted with has been understanding, well informed, and accommodating. I've met with every vet and they really take the time to make sure you understand what is going on with your pet and what steps you can take. They are all extremely knowledgeable.

A review during Covid months may be different than if we were visiting in person, so I'd like to share our experience. We sat in the parking lot while our dog was taken inside, then the vet did the initial check-up, called us on the phone, hung up, then our dog was brought outside with paperwork. All that happened within 25 minutes, but the waiting portion was more than 15 of those.

The conversation with the vet was very short, in fact she said she had to go after just two questions. The total bill came to over $200 for spending less than 10 minutes with our dog. Under normal visiting circumstances, when you see each other in a visiting room, you get to see what happens to your dog and you get to ask questions to the vet in person.

In fact I have long questioned why they take away your dog when they vaccinate or test them for things! What they do behind those doors, I have always wondered. But anyway, in pandemic months, when you don't get to see the owners of the pets, my suggestion to the vet(s) is to be more mindful that many pet owners may be nervous, anxious, worried, and have more questions than you allow time for. You're not seeing us, so you don't know and can't read our expressions.

I just took my dog to Mem 610 for her annual check-up. They were right on time, I stayed in my car and they came out to get Luci, the doctor called from the exam room and talked about her health and answered my questions, then they switched me to the front office to pay and brought Luci out to me. I have been going here for 17 years and highly recommend this clinic.

I had been going to banfield's but I wasn't happy with my most recent experience. Vergi recommended them and i couldn't be happier! Vet and Nurse were very caring and explained everything. Price wasn't bad ($160 which included initial exam ($80), half body bandage change ($20), and 3 month supply of flea and tick medicine ($65)). Also told I don't need to go to a specialist right now (which saves me some money)! I already feel like this is a vet I'll be able to trust (one that only suggests procedures that my dog actually needs)
