We've been coming here for a bit with both our dog and our cat for overnight boarding, and so far so good! To get that fifth star they just need to remember to always give us back our pets' food after a trip! It's happened three times now that they have forgotten to give us back our pets' food, and we have to turn around and make the 20 minute trip back to pick it up. I'm sure this could be solved through an internal check process before the pets check out, so we look forward to that improvement and revising our review!

Rover Oaks is simply the best pet boarding place in the city of Houston. After my dog was trained by Jim Burrell (one of Rover Oaks founders) he recommended I try Rover Oaks, despite having used the same boarding place for the past 2 dogs. Once I got there I realized what a bad deal my dog was getting at the previous place. My dog is always excited to go into Rover Oaks, and seems upset that he has to leave when I pick him up.
Their boarding rooms are far superior to kennels, they get ultimate play time, provide excellent grooming, and are all around a top notch shop. I couldn't recommend it more highly

The people at Rover Oaks Katy are awesome! I'm always worried about leaving my dog when I go on vacation. He's 105 lbs and can be extremely hard to handle at times. They did perfect with him and gave me detailed updates throughout the week! They even mixed their own chicken with his food (with my approval) because he wouldn't eat what I left him. Also, Cassi did amazing on his grooming appt while he was there! I would absolutely leave him here again :)

My dog is six years old and high energy. We have completed dog training at other facilities and have been to several different daycares in the 4+ different cities that we have lived in. After spending the last two years inside due to the pandemic, we wanted to try doggie daycare in our new city, Houston. I expected there to be an adjustment period; however, it was obvious from the attitude that I received the first day, that it was not going to work out. However, the trial time is three days.
Usually a high daily attendance cost and long trial period are indicative of people that really want to work with your dog. However, today, I received a call that my dog would not be admitted to doggie day care. I asked - I asked is there an additional training program? Is there a class? Basically, is there any way that I can pay money for you guys to help me?
The answer was "no, and our dog trainers are booked for the foreseeable future. But, your dog can stay until the end of the day." Which I interpreted as, we really don't want to do business with you or see your dog again. So, fine. We will go find a better place for us. But, to make things worse, I had already pre-paid for the three-day socialization, but was charged an extra, random $50 with no explanation or phone call.
There were no training or behavior tips given to assist, even tho I asked, starting on day one. When I asked for some additional guidance or assistance, the employee implied that my dog was just not well socialized. When I informed her that we actually have two cats and three dogs in our house, and have previously completed doggie daycare at several other facilities in multiple other states, she got really awkward because she couldn't blame it on me anymore.
They never took a family history us, tried to get to know us, nor did they try to help us. After being incorrectly charged over $50 a day for a trial socialization, we will happily be going somewhere else.

My husband and I have been reliant at this resort for months, now. Our pup is very well taken care of here-and gets along with other pups each visit-which is very wonderful to know. So, we're certain he loves it here whenever we have to travel. River Oaks is very responsible, supportive, and easy to stay in touch with consistently. Great establishment!

Updated review: WOW what a wonderful place! My puppy has now been going to Rover Oaks for several months for grooming, daycare, and she has completed the puppy training program. I could not be happier with how well they care for my sweet girl. Now whenever we pull into the Rover Oaks parking lot, her tail starts wagging, she starts whining and JUMPS out of the car because she is so excited to be there and play with all her friends!
The days she comes home from daycare she is so happy and EXHAUSTED and sleeps hard the remainder of the day, which is so wonderful for us to have a little break from all her puppy energy! They also do such a beautiful job with the grooming, we get so many compliments on how pretty she looks, especially right after leaving the Rover Oaks salon! So grateful for this place and the excellent care they give my baby girl!

Rover Oaks is our dog's happy place. He can tell when we're driving there, and he gets so excited! We know that he is well taken care of while he's at Rover Oaks. The people who work there are kind and obviously care about the dogs. Our dog goes to doggy day care twice per week and has stayed in boarding several times. We will continue to frequent this business and recommend it to others!

I went to visit them for a tour of the facility and explanation of packages Amber, the Reservation specialist was great. She took the time to answer all of my questions, she even answered my daughters questions who couldn't be there, but joined the tour via FaceTime. The facility is clean and well kept and the animals appear well cared for and happy. I put down my deposit at the end of the tour to reserve my two dogs lodging for next month. I am confident I made a good decision in choosing Rover Oaks.

If looking for an exceptional place to take your pets. look no further. Our Cobie had never been away from home. The staff was very careful with him. He was very shy at first and wasn't pushed into doing something he wasn't comfortable with. He had a great bath and grooming. Crystal worked with him for two weeks on training. She did a fabulous job. I just need to keep it going. Look forward to another visit! Great atmosphere and lots of love and care towards your babies.

Rover Oaks is the best for pets! Our Ellie has gone there for boarding and training and the staff is great. Ellie has some anxiety but the staff makes her (and us) feel comfortable. They send home a report card with updates on how she is doing and exercises we can do at home to reinforce good behavior. There are plenty of options for boarding and the staff is always willing to answer any questions. Shelby (trainer) is amazing with Ellie! Amanda, who works there, is great and is always available to answer questions. We are loyal clients!

My 4 month old Australian cattle dog puppy only has been to puppy play school for 2 days, but I already am so impressed. His trainers have been so nice and didn't judge him at all when he came to school growling and peeing from fear on the first day. In just a day, they transformed him into being a more confident puppy. He also comes home absolutely exhausted and hasn't play bitten me or jumped on me once since, which was a huge challenge to break. I'm so excited to see his progress!
He also made so many new puppy friends, and he used to be so scared of other dogs. I definitely think it's worth the money if you're dealing with a nervous, fearful puppy since you don't want it to get to the point of aggression. Also, it's wonderful to know that your pup is so happy! They clearly are super skilled at training, and they care about your pup so much.

Great place to board your fur-babies! Super-attentive staff who send daily updates on your pet's well-being. We boarded our two kitties here for a few weeks while we were moving and in-between houses. We were allowed to come and visit our sweet-peas while we were in town, and received photos and updates while we were on vacation. Kitty-condos are in a room with their own ventilation system so they are not stressed by the smell of doggies in another part of the building. A little pricey, and definitely need reservations well in-advice, but well-worth the cost. Our kitties were loved and definitely cared-for while we were gone!

We had occasion to board our furry family member for a spur of the moment weekend trip and hadn't stayed at Rover Oaks in a while. I was a little anxious since we've been having family sit for us but the gang at Rover came through! Our boy was a little stressed but he was in good spirits when we picked up and I could tell he had been eating well. It gives us peace of mind to have a place like Rover Oaks that we can depend on for good caring service for our pet.

Seemed like a nice place from reviews, having just moved back to the Katy area. The attitude over the phone and once I got in was very much as if they didn't need me or my pet. Lots of airy conversations and "I don't know about that", then when I arrived they required a vaccine that other vets don't. Not a problem as this is a health concern, but when they brought it up in the chaos of my first time in and my puppy is barking I was left just standing there with no reply of what to do next.
Unfortunately I won't be back to try even if I did get the vaccine for my dog, the uncomfortable feeling of just standing there while they offered up no words and starred uncomfortably at me as if I was this trash not welcome in their doors is enough to drive across the city to another groomer and pay them $65 for my 10lb dog.

I took my puppy to the 7-week training they offer. It was a total waste of time. Not only were the instructions not clear but on the day of the test all dogs had to do a second round and repeat some of the items on the training list, some of the dogs got it right on the first try but did not on the second. They failed most of the puppies in the class even the puppy who we all thought did an outstanding job and one of the two dogs that passed the AKC test belonged to someone works there and her dog clearly failed the first time. Do not waste your time/money.

Rover Oaks - Katy is absolutely amazing! Everyone there is extremely nice and wants to make sure you have everything you need when you are there. Our dog, Peanut, went through the 2 week training program they offer. We would drop her off each morning and pick her up each evening. Peanut was happy to be there. She was always wagging her tail. Every person that works at Rover Oaks made sure she was loved, petted and talked to. Jim, our trainer, was wonderful!
When we first started, Peanut was shy of people and very fearful of other dogs. Jim taught her socialization skills that corrected this problem. She also developed her basic training skills. I cannot recommend Rover Oaks Katy enough. Jim has 30+ years of training dogs. And our little Peanut is proof. You will not be disappointed with the training or customer service you receive at Rover Oaks - Katy.

If I could give minus stars I would. Had to give one star so it would post. The training at this place sucks. Specifically, the trainer named Sam. Once she got my money, I never heard from her again. Despite more than one email and phone calls with questions. We showed up for puppy class and were not allowed in because we hadn't carried our almost 40 pound German Shepherd puppy in. And yet a lady cane in behind us and was allowed in with a simple"we'll just wipe its paws". I did get a refund, however this is no way to do business.

The staff here is so rude the ladies at the front turned their noses up at me when I walked in and then all but flat out accused me of forging documents for cat vaccinations. Who does that?! After calling the veterinarian we got the situation resolved and then they decide to tell me that the days I wanted to board my kitten are not available. Smdh, thank God for PetSmart.

We've used Rover Oaks for boarding, training, grooming and daycare and we (and her) are always super happy when we drop her off knowing that she will be cared for, pampered and spoilt rotten during her stay and that she will always return to us super tired and happy. In fact, this is the only place we trust with our little girl when we are out of town as Rover Oaks treats each pet in their care as if they are part of their family.
Our little girl LOVES Rover Oaks so much that we reverse commute once a week to drop her off at daycare and let her run her little heart out with all her doggy friends. Daycare is held outside so there is plenty of space to roam and play, dogs groups are sorted by personality and size and they maintain a ratio of one doggy daycare councilor to every 12 dogs which means your pooch will get plenty of playtime, love and supervision. Yes, its not the cheapest place to board your pet but hey, you get what you pay for when it comes to pet care, so if you consider your pet to be a family member and if piece of mind is priceless to you, Rover Oaks is worth every cent and is the only place (in my opinion) to send your baby.

Update! Met with manager for a moment today. Very apologetic and booked Annie out for Saturday's in the future. It's all about communication! Terrible customer service here. Brought dog in for evaluation and since then it is impossible to get to day care. If you call you're either sent to v-mail or placed on hold extremely too long. Not exaggerating, I was just now on hold for 8 mins to check availability for daycare and just hung up.

My dog Jasper got to stay here while I was in Chicago. He seemed to enjoyed himself. When I dropped him off he was crying - he doesn't stay places often - but when I picked him up he didn't want to leave. He also got a groom while staying there and turned out perfect. So glad I have this place a shot. Oh, and they mailed him a thank you letter after our stay (I'll post a photo). He was appreciative.

My chihuahua stayed here for 10 days and was very spunky and playful when I picked her up. The staff is very friendly and professional. I left a voicemail to check on her and the staff called me right back with a status report. It's a little pricey but at least I was given a military discount! A+ in my book just for supporting us Veterans! We will be back!
