Our dogs love training at Dogwood! We have taken about three years worth of agility classes with our mutt and six months with our Doberman. The teachers are helpful, informative and very, very FUN! Our dogs love to learn and play and this feels like play even though we have been doing quite a bit of work. Positive reinforcement, quality training and lots of practice have definitely helped our rescue dogs become the smart, well-behaved pups we knew they could always be.

The first of my two dogs came to Dogwood a shy, undisciplined little girl with some training. She went through a couple of Dogwood fundamentals classes that really got her on track. It's been a great time working with these wonderful people; they really know their stuff. We then started taking weekly agility classes. What a fun sport! A year later she progressed to AKC master level agility and now she has her championship title! My new puppy is just starting out and he will be a student there too. Highly recommended.

A great place to take your dog for lessons in how to train your dog. We went 15 years ago with a pup and started up again about a year ago. The classes are all good. Only reason I didn't give 5 stars is that some are repetitive. But we would give the agility program 5 stars for sure! Spent 7 months at another training facility that didn't work for us.

This program has worked for us and the instructors are very helpful. I feel encouraged that this is something my dog and I can do! I was very discouraged after my last experience.

I have trained with several different groups over the years and Dogwood is the most consistent, highest quality training that I have experienced. All of the classes have multiple instructors who work with small groups when appropriate, so you have very little idle time. They give you written homework and encourage you to contact them if you have any problems whatsoever. The methods they teach are well thought out and even better, they work! All of the staff are positive and encouraging.

Instructors are amazing! So glad I found this place to train my two border collies! I have tried other places and Dogwood is far superior. I drive an hour to get there. But it's worth it!

We have taken numerous classes at Dogwood as we prepare our Golden to compete in the obedience ring. I have been to many other training classes with different dogs over the years and Dogwood by far has the most experienced trainers. Debbie the owner is fantastic. She really understands how to get through to your dog! Additionally, she helps you be a better trainer and can help with anything from behavioral habits to getting top performance from your dog in the ring. We would highly recommend Dogwood.

This place is awesome. I have been going here for 20 years. Instructors are all very knowledgeable. They are up to date on latest training methods and are great with determining what problems you are having with your dog and what will work best to solve the problem. I have taken most of their classes from obedience to agility. Am currently working on rally. In my opinion this is the best school in Texas. I highly recommend it.

We could not be more pleased! The instructors are great and really know their stuff. They are fantastic about individualizing tips for dogs having specific issues as well. I've been involved in all things "show dogs" for over 40 years and got really interested in obedience when we got our Lab, Cinder, who has a real job in government service at the Harris County Fire Marshal's Office.

Within 6 months of starting there, Cinder got his CD title. Best of all, Cinder really loves going there. The facility itself is awesome. We've been with them for about 2 years now and learn something new every single session. Costs are very reasonable and tips are readily accepted by the staff in the form of homemade cookies and brownies!

I've train 5 different dogs at Dogwood in a period of 17 years or more. The trainers have been excellent in breaking down the exercises into step by step processes. Dual trainers in earlier classes but in these later classes it's like you have a team of trainer to work with you. Very Motivating and encouraging, I've trained competitively and done well.

Now I train personally for myself there because it's Fun and like " Day camp with my Dog. My Miniature American Shepherd " Tic Toc" gets so excited when we go. Thank You to the Team D Grit

My dogs and I love Dogwood! I first went to Dogwood for basic classes with a new puppy. The instructors were very patient and tried hard to make training fun for both of us! We had so much fun we started taking more classes and now I have several dogs I'm training and I am competing with a couple of them. What is nice is that they offer so many different classes that you can always find something that is appropriate for your current level of training. Give it a try - you won't be sorry!

Absolutely LOVE it here! I've taken two classes here, Puppy Obedience and Basic Obedience both on Monday nights with Jan and Gael. I absolutely love them! I've gotten tons of compliments on my pup, which I might add is a German Shorthaired Pointer. This breed is known for being hyper beyond control sometimes and everyone asks me where I take him! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE TAKE THESE CLASSES! You won't regret it.

My dog loves Dogwood! I enrolled Summer into basic obedience class in October and after 6 weeks, Summer and I are a lot happier. Tracie and Sandy are awesome and Tracie's tip on how to train Summer not to bolt out the door is worth the price of the class alone. Tracie and Sandy are very experienced trainers and are always open to questions after class if you are having a particular problem with your dog. The facilities are very clean and they offer additional classes in competitive agility and obedience.

Note: This review was written by Mouse and Basil. Basil did most of the typing. Mouse did most of the rolling around on the ground. My 2 cents: Judy Ramsey is awesome. She's helpful, always available, and always supportive. For anyone getting into canine sports, Dogwood is the way to go. Some days, I go to obedience just for the motivational pick me up.

Her enthusiasm is contagious. Mouse: My Mommy has taken me to many trainers in our day as she tried to learn the ropes of Conformation, Drafting, Water Rescue, Herding, Packing, and Weight pull. Aside from Dick (we sure do miss him), Judy is our other favorite trainers. Before we came to Judy, my mommy hasn't taken me to a competitive obedience class before.

We had some trainers before that didn't understand the meaning of stubborn. I'm stubborn. Everyone knows I'm stubborn, and I weigh 125 lbs. You can't get a stubborn big dog like me to do things I don't want to. You also can't yell at me and tell me I'm not doing a good job. My Mommy also doesn't like it when people yell or me or yank me around. I'm just a dog.

I don't speak English (except in this review). You can't reason with me. You have to show me what exercises to perform and express to me that I'm a good boy. I love Judy because she's always happy and always gives me good feedback. Not only does Judy have the practical experience and the theoretical background to train successfully, she understands classical and operant conditioning perfectly, and she knows how to think outside of the training box too. She's so good at reading canine body language, it is like she's reading my mind.

I know my Mommy loves her too. Everyone loves Judy. Basil: I'm a diva, and you will recognize me when I enter the room. Behold my long silky locks and my shaved ass. No, I'm not a poodle. I'm a Lowchen, pronounced Luv-hen. We're so much classier than those poodles, and we're German. Germans dogs are tough. I only go to Dogwood to show all the other dogs that I'm faster, smarter, and more creative than all the other dogs there. I'm so smart that I earned my versatility title at 2 years old, and I can outrun those border collies.

As a high class dog, I only accept training from the best of the best. Judy makes the cut. I'll let her teach my Mommy how to handle me to competitive obedience stardom.
