Nancy Strouss, owner and training director of People Training For Dogs(sm), has been a full time professional dog trainer/instructor for over 30 years. But Nancy didnaEt always spend her days among wagging tails and eager to learn dog owners. Before "dogs", Nancy earned a degree in Early Childhood Education and worked with nursery school age and special needs children.
After having to shut down the school from mid March through mid June, I have happily returned to teaching both group classes and private lessons. To keep everyone safe and comfortable during this time classes are now semi-private (just 2 dogs per class) to be able to maintain social distancing and students & I wear masks.

All classes & private lessons are held at my training studio in Valley Cottage ~ Parking is available in the driveway and access to training studio on the ground floor ~. Dogs can be walked on any grassy area in the front ~ Please bring baggies and clean up after your dog ~ Used baggies can be put in small white garbage can to the left of office door ~.

I have trained two dogs with Nancy, and both are now therapy dogs. There was never a problem she couldn't fix. She has endless knowledge and truly cares for all her students and their dogs. I constantly get comments on how well-behaved and calm my dogs are. I give all credit to Nancy Strouss and People Training for Dogs! I wouldn't go anywhere else.

When I decided that I wanted to try to get a CGC on my Yorkshire terrier, I went to Nancy Strouss for instruction. Not only did my pup receive her CGC, she went on to earn her CD with placements based on the terrific training we received from Nancy. She can help you achieve your dog training goals from CGC to loftier levels. It takes years of teaching, training all different breeds of dogs as well as competing to become a superb instructor, and Nancy has all of that as well as an innate feel for how dogs think and feel. I recommend her highly.
