Sent this is an email to The Dog Shop. No response. Does not speak well to their customer response: "Sad to say I had an unpleasant experience at The Dog Shop Wednesday morning around 10. It had been a while since our four-year-old dachshund had been there for daycare, and I wanted to see how she would react. No worries there. She was thrilled to be back and obviously remembered it.
The unpleasant part? The young woman at the desk was curt and uninformative. She reluctantly answered questions. Said she did not know how many pups were in the small dog room. Finally, without a smile, she did say coldly she'd put us on the list. Cheesch!" I would also add they are very hard to reach by phone during the day.

Do not take your dog here. We have two Cavapoos, 2 1/2 years old and from the same litter. We've been to the Dog Shop a few times now, and each time our dogs seem more nervous when we arrive. The last time we were here, I offered a few requests for how the cut would be done, and I called attention to the one of the dogs who had a couple of mats on her shoulders.
I acknowledged that I would be fine with them shaving those areas. I was certain there were no mats on the rest of her body. However, but when I picked them up, both dogs were shaved severely, almost over their entire bodies, even in large areas where I knew there were no mats (I brush them myself daily). They even shaved the dog that had no mats.
No phone call, no text, no contact from them at all to check about this. I wanted to give the store the benefit of the doubt, thinking maybe I had missed other mats unknowingly, so I tried making one more appointment. Today I arrived and one of my dogs was literally shaking in terror and would not come close to let me pick her up out of the car. She was petrified, shaking and lifting one paw and then the other.
It took several moments to calm her. We finally went inside, and the lady at the counter, not looking at me, asked, "Who do we have here?" I gave the names of the dogs, and she asked if there were any changes in what I wanted for the cut. I replied that I was certain there were no mats, and that we'd rather they were not shaved. Here's what turned out to be the last straw for me.
She exclaimed, "Well, if we find any mats we WILL (emphasis was hers) shave them." At that point I left the store, and we won't be going back. Stay away if you love your dogs and want any control at all over their grooming.

The dog shop was recommended to me by a friend who also has a golden doodle. Our puppy is three months old and we were extremely happy with the haircut grooming and nail clipping that our dog received. I will highly recommend the dog shop to anyone who has not yet tried it. The owner was very cordial as was her assistants. I may even try out the doggie daycare service that they provide!

I have a Newfoundland and Scotty-poo. My dogs went here a couple years w little to no problems (one time they shaved our lil one in the middle of winter). Than all of a sudden they were traumatized by this place. they would shake when we even walked near the dog shop. I truly believe they put on a fake friendly front but are truly cruel and aggressive with the animals.
We stopped bringing our dogs there and than saw an employee that also worked at Browns and she joked about not having to "torture" our dogs here. my Newfoundland loved being groomed and would never fight any so it makes me wonder why they had to be so aggressive with him. notice how many dogs they take at once. if you love your dog do not trust him in their care. If I could leave zero stars I would.
