Pine Meadow Veterinary Hospital has a long history in the Yorktown, Hampton, and Newport News areas having been established in 1977. With over 40 years of service to the local community, we have grown a lot from our early beginnings to the hospital you see today. We are proud to offer the same tailored approach with contemporary and innovative veterinary medicine.
One of the best things you can do to keep your pet healthy is to bring them to the veterinarian for a yearly physical exam. Combined with a tailored vaccination program and recommendations on preventatives for things like heartworm, fleas, and ticks, the needs of your animal will be met every step of the way.

Pine Meadow Veterinary Hospital was established in 1977 by Dr. Dale Cupp. It was originally a mixed animal practice, providing large and small animal care for the Yorktown, Hampton, and Newport News area. The 1900 square foot building was expanded in 1986 to create an equine surgery and recovery unit.
A Licensed Veterinary Technician (commonly refered to as an LVT or Vet Tech) is most comparible to a nurse in the human medical field. They are graduates of an American Veterinary Medical Assocation (AVMA) credentialed program, obtaining at minimum an Associates Degree in Applied Science, and are licensed by the State of Virginia to practice as a veterinary technician.
In accordance with the American Veterinary Medicine Association (AVMA), a valid veterinarian-client-patient relationship (also known as a valid VCPR) is required for all prescription medications and veterinary services. This relationship is defined as a physical exam of the patient by the veterinarian within the past year.

I am so thankful that we chose this Veterinary Clinic for our cat. They have a great range of hours and open on Sat. Everyone is always nice and accommodating. Our cat had an emergency on Saturday morning and I was able to call and get an appointment in an hour and a half later she got great care and it wasn't badly priced glad they are open on Saturday so I didn't have to go to an emergency vet clinic. I highly recommend this place if you are looking for a place to take your animals.

Recently moved to Virginia and one of my dogs developed some severe allergies that was causing pain to the point that my dogs behavior started to change. The first vet we went too essentially said" Welcome to Virginia. Allergies are common." And then constantly pushed for items neither of my dogs needed. Looked around for another vet and came across Pine Meadows. Was able to get an appointment within a few days. Explained what was going on and after an examination, the vet was able to prescribe some meds that has allowed my dog to be comfortable again and his behavior is back to normal. The level of care my dog received was amazing. We will be staying with pine Meadows Veterinary hospital.

I had an appointment for 10:30 am to have my dog weighed for Heartworm and flea medications. I pulled into the parking space at 10:24 and called to let them know I was there. I was asked if it was an emergency or if I could hold. I was on hold for 18+ mins just to let them know I was there. At one point someone said "hi honey" and I responded with "hello".
She said, "Are you Mr. Calloway?" No, I'm not. Finally talk to them only to wait even longer for them to come get my dog. He was not thrilled to go with the man so I had to take him in myself to get weighed. Needless to say, I was there for 1 hour. This is ridiculous! If you're not going to allow your customers inside the building then you need more staff to answer the phones so your customers aren't there all day. I think we're are going to find another vet. This has been going on too long.

I absolutely love Pine Meadow. They have been there for our family through the worst and best. They are so personable and professional and I trust them with my four legged family members. Each visit is personalized and it's clear that they care for my babies. I especially appreciate the way they handled the passing of my elderly baby. Her last moments were hard to say the least, but they made it easier on me. The way they handled her cremation was beautiful and I was given the ashes in a beautiful box with a paw print. I will never forget their kindness and care.

Dr. Mullen is a amazing veterinarian. He guided my senior dog and I through his cancer and caught it early enough for me to have a few months to create a bucket list and say goodbye. I'm forever grateful for him and his team and he will be my permanent veterinarian until he is no longer in practice.

My poor cat Matilda had blood in her urine and I tried calling every vet to get an appointment within a few days. Not only did they see me the same day but they took care of her and figured out what was wrong within an hour. I will definitely be taking my cats here for now on. So professional and pleasant to talk to.
