We had to board our dog unexpectedly for over two weeks and we were so lucky to find the Woofdorf Astoria! Shelli is awesome and worked with us to accommodate our German Shorthair Pointer When we came to pick up he was curled up outside in the lap of the handler - his favorite thing to do. I was impressed with the live cams so we could check on him and he came home exhausted.

My dog has been going to Woofdorf on almost a daily basis for the last 3 years. I love how as a small dog he has his own area to be with other small dogs. He gets to play both inside and outside and is very well taken care of by all staff members. I highly recommend for anyone wanting to have a safe and enriching environment for their dog!

Wish I could play with dogs all day! My two pups play hard all day twice a week at the Woofdorf Astoria then pass out tired at home. My dogs "know" when it's daycare day and dance around while I try to get them into the car. They can't wait to see the handlers who greet them by name and with a smile. Pricing is super affordable too!

Our boy Oskar loves this place (I think). He visits a few times a year and is always happy when we arrive to pick him up. Front desk staff have always been helpful and friendly. They offer an online app that allows you access to cameras throughout the facility to check in with your pup throughout the day.

I have an elderly Beagle who has been coming here over the years. We just had him there over the Christmas holiday and at his age with his physical problems and the number of meds he was on I was hesitant to have him visit. However, I did. Two days after I dropped him off, while I was on vacation, I received a picture of Riley in his blanket and a statement that said "Merry Christmas, Love Riley".
These are the special things that they will do here. They knew I was worried and they took the extra time to let me know that he was fine. Riley is on 4 meds that they gave him twice daily. This was never made to make me feel like it was too much for them. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Woofdorf and how they have taken care of my sweet Riley over the years!

My Golden Retriever Teddy loved his time here before we moved. He would get so excited and seemed to love absolutely everyone there. He had special bonds with Josie and Erica, and he even loved seeing Shelly at the front desk. I knew he was well taken care of. The ladies there were always very accommodating, organized, and patient. As an anxious person, I always felt at ease when leaving my baby here.

Sadly the quality of service and care has drastically decreased within the last year. We've been taking our dogs here for over 10 years, and in the last 4 years have had a few minor incidents where I would've expected a phone call, but received no communication from the staff until we picked our dogs up. I understand they are busy, so no big deal.
Our first major issue was in June, when our puppy came home after a week of boarding with a large gash on his leg that was caked with dirt. He was limping and highly favoring his leg, and it was the absolute first thing I noticed when we got home. I was told "animals hide their pain when they run in a pack" so supposedly no one on the staff noticed this very obvious, large gash throughout the whole week.
Second major issue was yesterday. Supposedly my dog bit another dog and then went after the staff. She was then "put up" for the rest of the day until my husband went to pick her up. We've never had biting aggression with her, so when I called to ask what the circumstances were surrounding the incident, the response was "your dog put a hole in another dog.
What more do you need to know?" I'm trying to be responsible and find out what happened, and I get treated like I'm wasting their time by calling. Then they lied and said they tell my husband all the time how aggressive my dog is and that they have to "put her up" (quarantine her?) all the time. He can remember one incident where he was told that she had to get separated for being too wild. Careless, untrained, unprofessional staff. I don't trust them to take care of my dogs any longer.

My two dogs stayed there for an extended weekend in late September. It was a horrible experience from beginning to end. I was checking in on them with the cameras the entire trip and on several occasions I did not see one of my dogs who happens to be a pit. It was always when the same gentleman was watching them. Whenever I'd call and ask where she was I'd get various excuses as to why she was in their room and not out with the rest of the dogs. Meanwhile, my other dog who happens to be a lab puppy was out the entire time.
The pick up experience was not any better either unfortunately. The gentleman who was trying to bring my dogs up to me was getting very obviously frustrated that they wouldn't come to him. He was yelling at them in a very aggravated tone of voice so clearly neither dog would go by him. Eventually someone else called them up for me with no issues. Unfortunately the worst part came shortly after we picked them up.
My puppy wasn't keeping water down, and shortly after threw up a mouse. The next day both of my dogs started coughing. After a visit to the vet they both had gotten kennel cough from their stay at Woofdorf despite having the vaccine. I will never bring any of my dogs back to this facility, and I hope this helps others when choosing where to take their dogs.

I would not be back here and would not recommend this place for any type of service. 1st thing I dislike about this place is that they allow aggressive dogs be with other dogs and claim that they "watch them" if things get too rough. One of the workers said they prefer customers to have collars with a clip if any other dog would of got tangled up so they can unleash the dog with ease and separate them, but this was not a requirement and they did not mention this until after my dog got hurt in THEIR CARE.
They claim my dog was not bleeding but found dried blood still in my dogs mouth on their teeth. 2nd. Thing I gave them a full gallon bag of food and told them my dog feeding schedule, when my dog was pick up, only a little have been used. THE BAG WASN'T EVEN HALF WAY, it was practically still full after 4 days! After since, I picked my dog up from once again THEIR CARE, now my dog has diarrhea. 3rd.
Then there was a payment issue because someone wasn't fully reading their notes properly informing whoever would be at the desk that we prepaid. 4th. Also DO NOT bring a puppy here who is still going through the process of potty training because they DO NOT take the dogs out. They let the dogs pee and poop wherever INSIDE, even though they have a full fenced yard.

Absolutely LOVE Woofdorf-Astoria! I have been taking me dogs here for daycare and boarding for over a decade and is the best place ever for my dogs! Staff is great, and they have such a big fenced in yard and indoor play area that big dogs like mine can really run and play. Highly recommend Woofdorf!
