Jo and Rich Cole, owners of Jo's Exotic Birds, LTD., have been breeding birds for many years. The love of working with their birds combined with the need for a full service avian supply store prompted them to open their store in 1997. It not only has well socialized and healthy hand -fed babies, but a large number of cages, play gyms, foods, avian accessories, and hundreds of parrot toys.

They have a large selection of new and used cages in stock. They offer cage delivery within their service area. Bird and Parrot Food from Harrison's, Roudybush, Kaytee, Pretty Bird, Lafeber, Sun Seed and Zupreem are also available.

This is a small family owned specialty parrot store featuring bird cages, food, carriers, toys, perches, and toy parts. The employees have all worked there for years and are very knowledgeable. They usually have 1 to 5 baby parrots for sale at any time and allow you to visit your bird while it weans.

Friendly, helpful staff and good prices. Petco charges over twice as much for cuttle bone. Will definitely be back =

Traveled 66 miles to get to Jo's, and it was well worth the trip! In my opinion, their prices are very reasonable. I love the huge selection of parrot toys and other supplies. We found the perfect cage for our African Grey (which was the reason for our journey). The woman there helped us break down the cage so it would fit in my car. She and the owner, Rich, went above and beyond to help us! We were very impressed with our shopping experience and the excellent customer service. I'll definitely be back and I'll absolutely recommend Jo's to others.

This shop has a good selection of foods, toys, cages and pretty much everything you need for your bird. Everything is very reasonably priced. Cheaper than Amazon in a lot of cases and definitely cheaper than typical pet store chains like Petco and PetSmart. They also provide wing and nail clipping for your bird. They've also recommended an excellent avian veterinary specialist when we had a sick cockatiel. Jo's Exotics is a wonderful local resource for anything and everything bird related. which is hard to find!

Have been coming to this establishment since it was in its previous location. Was on a job assignment in the area and went to check out the store. Long story (and assignment), but left town with a hand fed baby African Grey parrot! Had been a big dream; never thought it would happen. Going on twenty years later, he is still doing well. He has led quite the unexpected life.

He travels all over the country (and loves it.) He has adapted well to everything. Usually with good cheer and a sense of adventure. I am convinced that is due to how well socialized he was when he was little -- and hand-raised by Jo. This is such a unique place. A store, yes, but more a baby parrot haven. They are raised like children. And it shows.

You would like to purchase a parrot? Not so fast. You will be kindly, unobtrusively, but thoroughly checked out. Do you know what you are doing? Getting in to? Understand the attention and resource investments? For your lifetime (likely)? Does the parrot like you? (Really, the parrot will decide.) They might refuse to let you leave with one of their babies.

Understand this transaction is taken that seriously -- before you go here. Otherwise, the store itself has everything imaginable parrot related. Questions will receive knowledgeable answers. I even got my veterinary referral from Jo. It is really hard to find a good avian vet. (We're still going there. Even if we have to drive hours to get there.

Worth it.) The store has everything you could need for a parrot. Cages in every size and shape. So many toys -- screened for safety. Any healthy parrot food. There are play nets and exercise trees. And. there are baby birds. Jo finds responsible, local breeders who maybe have one or two breeding pairs of parrots. She finishes the hand feeding at the store and socializes the baby birds.

I am convinced this is why Dorian has never plucked, screamed, bitten, any of the usual parrot behavior challenges. He is a cuddly, curious, adventurous soul. Jo's Exotic Birds is a serious parrot place. Just understand that the parrot's interests are respected here. Outcomes are reliably better that way.

This woman who trims nails and wings is very unprofessional. She's rude, never makes conversation, will give you an attitude if you are 5 minutes late for your appointment and is very snippy. The guy up front asked her if I could have my bird back and she snapped that I needed to pay first when I already paid. Very very rude. Very unprofessional. The store itself is very dark and dim.

My bird is always in a mood after the handling of the lady who cuts the wings and nails so I won't be back. I'll find somewhere else. I tried to give business to this local business but the lack of professionalism and customer service isn't worth the abuse and attitude. If I could give zero stars I would.

They have great prices and great product but I didn't appreciate the fact that I couldn't bring my bird into the store. After all it is a store dedicated to birds, she just stopped me right at the door, looked at my bird and gave us this look as if I had done something so terrible. My bird goes where I do especially if I'm running errands for him so I just think that's ridiculous.

THIS PLACE KILLED OUR BIRD. Two weeks ago we took our bird in for a routine nail and wing trimming. Four hours after the trim our bird was dead. Moments after getting our bird back home he was acting erratic and was crying out in pain. I contacted the owner twice over the course of these two weeks and no response was ever received. So please please please DON'T TAKE YOUR BIRDS HERE for trimming of any kind.

After he passed we had a full exam done and he had bleeding from his wings, the wings that they trimmed at this shop. This place is negligent and irresponsible. They killed our bird and couldn't even be decent enough to give us an apology or an explanation.

I really enjoy the huge selection of toys, food, cages and other avian items. I can generally find what I want and need for my cockatiels. If Jo's Exotic Birds doesn't have what I need, then they can always special order what I'm looking for. Rich, Jo's husband, will also deliver the larger cages and stands for a nominal fee and delivery can generally be made within a few days of purchase.

Not only do I like shopping at Jo's Exotic Birds, but it's where I take my cockatiels when they need their wings clipped or nails trimmed. Jo doesn't charge a whole lot to have it done and she gets it done without stressing out my birds. If you own birds, I HIGHLY recommend Jo's Exotic Birds.

This place is fantastic! We met Rich at a bird show and he was very helpful. He had even more cages in his truck and was very willing to take us out in the rain and show us. We had a great experience at the store. He remembered us and we had a warm welcome. We found an awesome cage for a very good price! Rich is even delivering it next day for the cost of gas.

He has a wide selection of cages, playtops, and hanging stands. They also have a large selection of perches, toys, and carriers. Rich gave us honest advice and was open about what toys/perches will work best for our bird. Sue was also very friendly and helpful. We had a lot of questions and they were glad to answer them all. The store was very busy with lots of friendly customers. We definitely recommend it.

I called Jo's looking for hand raised parakeets. There is an employee named Terry who breeds parakeets (Jo's DOES NOT sell parakeets) but Terry is affiliated with the business and this is how I was connected with her. My 82 year old mother hasn't had a bird in years and needed some cheering up and was yearning for another parakeet. I contacted Jo's, mostly via email, and Terry told me in MID JANUARY that she had some hatchlings that would be ready "sometime in February".

That was vague, and I told her that my mom's birthday was Feb. 12th so I was hoping one would be ready by then, if not though, a week or two out from there was good too- can't rush the growing phase. Well, my mom's birthday came and went (about a month after I had first contacted Terry) and I sent emails asking Terry about the status of the birds and a couple of times I got, "they're coming along", then finally near the end of February, "they'll be ready soon" and then by the second week of March (two weeks after "soon") and I hadn't heard anything, and my mother wondering about the baby bird (she knew it was coming): I got tired of begging for information from Terry, called her and told her to forget it. Jeeze.

It was annoying as heck and my mom would ask weekly, "how are the babies coming along?" If Terry knows so much about breeding parakeets, why wasn't she more honest with me in January when I FIRST INQUIRED? I KNEW the birds likely wouldn't be ready by my mom's birthday, but don't tell me at the end of February that "they're be ready soon" and then almost two weeks later.

I HEAR NOTHING FROM YOU. I would have gone elsewhere in the first place. We finally got two beautiful babies from Pet Supplies Plus, for less money, not that that mattered, but I wanted hand-raised and thought I went about it the right way. Terry was not upfront, professional, or helpful at all. I felt bad for my mother, who waited so patiently. Just felt like I was being lead along for nothing. Jo needs to know this about her staff. I gave this review two stars but would give Terry ONE.

Jo's has the best selection of bird toys! And trust me I've looked every where! My grey is always satisfied. They have very good prices too. They also have a great assortment of cages. The staff is amazingly knowledgeable if you have questions. I will not shop any where else for my bird supplies.
