We have been taking our cat and dog to Dr. Haak for a few years now, and we are so glad we found her and the Woodland Animal Hospital team! Dr. Haak never makes us feel rushed and always answers all of our questions. The receptionists are very friendly on the phone as well as in-person, and we can always get appointments scheduled in a timely manner. Highly recommend!

We just moved to the Carmel area and we're excited to find a vet, groomer and boarder close by. We took our two basset hounds to get groomed there a couple months ago and over looked paying $100 more than we did in Broad Ripple because of the location. Then we reserved for them to be boarded with Woodland this summer while we went on vacation. We also had planned on using them as our veterinarian. However, there was a mis-understanding, on my behalf, because of how our last vet operated and I thought both our dogs were scheduled for shots at 8:30am.
We arrived at 8:17am and we're told that one of their appointment was actually scheduled for 8:00 and we could pay a late fee or we would have to reschedule her shots. Even though they were more than willing to take our other dog back for his appointment at 8:17am, even though his appointment was not actually until 8:30. Therefore, they had 43 mins in order to give two dogs their yearly shots.
There was no grace or understanding at all from them. It was this is our policy and it was your fault not ours. Sorry about your luck, but not really sorry because there is no forgiveness. It would be one thing if the waiting room was filled but we were seriously the only people or dogs in there or the parking lot. They were willing to loose over a thousand dollars a year in services because they were not willing to wave at late fee of $15 and still give both of our dogs their yearly shots.
We walked out and will never be back. Already set our two basset hounds up for shots, boarding and grooming at another location in Carmel. If this is how Woodland treats their customers, it was easy to see our doggies would have been just another number not actually someone they cared about.

Terrible staff. I was told a test would be included in the price of our dogs blood panel. Then they charged me separately for it. Then i receive a printed price break down after I paid that says the test was supposed to be included? When I asked for a manager, they said okay, and instead sent me the same girl I had spoken with previously, who claimed no manager was there. I will never be back due to their poor handling of this situation. Never even got an apology for their own mistakes. Worst customer service I've ever experienced.

I don't have anything negative to say about this place. They are willing to do whatever possible to keep our babies healthy and have been wonderful to our family when it was time to let go. With all around the clock service even the late night emergencies have been addressed. They are up front about the costs and understanding where we couldn't do something. Overall probably the best vet I've ever been to and that is from 43 years of being a pet owner!

If you're new to the practice, you may want to be prepared to do their job for them and make certain that your animal's records have been transferred before visiting. Otherwise, be prepared to come back when you have confirmed the records have been transferred. Unorganized and the assistant didn't seem to know why we were there. When she realized the records weren't transferred, I was asked "what would you like to do?" I'd like for the organization to be professional and do their job.
If the records weren't transferred prior to the visit, a simple phone call to reschedule would have been appropriate. No apology or anything of the sort. Disappointing at best

They are professional, kind and quick to give updates! They called to check on Brinkley the next day after receiving a thorough dental cleaning with anesthesia. They let him stay a bit extra after surgery since I could not get away from my job to pick him up and were very kind and accommodating. I love this place! I moved an hour away and still make the drive! Especially love Dr. Golden!

I am a first time cat owner X 2! Dr. Haak and the staff have been amazing, both caring for our new kittens and giving us advice on the day to day stuff one needs to know. Best nail clippers, how to keep them from scratching furniture, swaddle them like a baby when giving them medicine to make them comfortable and keep me from getting scratches.

My pup has a chronic condition - megaesophagus. The lodge was willing to take him and work with the primary treatment which is vertical feeding. It takes a good part of every day, which they did willingly, and slathered him with affection. These folks look past the ills of a condition for the quality of a dog's life. So very grateful I could travel for a few days and know he would thrive.
