A Dog's Life offers both private lessons and board and train packages. See the pawprint tabs for more information. Our training is designed to be fun and fair while catering to the individual needs of dogs and their owners. We are located in the Hudson Valley New York and provide transportation services in the Tri-State Area with every training package.
Owner Carla Barbano is a CPDT-KA certfied trainer and has a strong background in animal behavior. While the dogs are at our training camp they are exercised several times a day in supervised playgroups.

Services
DOWN- Command should only be said once, and position must be held until released with "free". DOWN STAY- Down Command should only be said once, stay can be repeated and reinforced throughout the exercise. WAIT - stops forward motion allowing you to gain control before proceeding useful at doorways, curbs, and in and out of vehicles on command.
This is an individualized program designed for dogs that require specialized training. Each dog will be evauluated in their home and we will create a customized training program to meet the needs of the dog and owner. All training packages include a lesson upon return to go over all of the training and an additional follow-up lesson within 2 weeks of the return. We are always available for questions that may come up.

I'm so happy we took our pup to Carla's training camp! She and Stephanie did an amazing job at training our overexcited 6 months old puppy to walk like a champ! That was our biggest concern, as we were transferring him from the quiet of countryside to the madness of Brooklyn, NY. Before camp, he was WILD on the leash. We were desperate and worried for his safety.
He knew a few basic commands but only did what he likes. Carla and Stephanie taught our pup to listen and to respond to vital commands, all while being in a super fun environment.

This groomer located in Middletown New York takes especially good care of your puppy, dog etc. They run a dog boarding facility on four rolling acres and beautiful Middletown New York bordering Montgomery New York. Carla and her team work very hard to ensure that your dog is handled with the most respectful care. My dog, Glory, a 13-month-old golden retriever, tends to get matted really bad.
She plays hard and as a result she gets messy. She's definitely a tomboy for a dog. In any event they're really nice people and easy to talk to. You can stay with your pet while they groom. During covid 19, there was a time when you had to wait outside. They still prefer you to wait outside but when you're there with your pet at first they will let you talk to the dog and converse with the team while they groom the dog and then they'll ask you to step outside and wait for the rest of the time.

I boarded my dog during the Memorial Day weekend and the website advised that my dog would come home fully bathed, nails clips and ears cleaned. I paid $75.00 a night, which is about $35 higher than most kennels per night. Well when I picked up my dog he was not bathed, his nails were not clipped and this ears were not cleaned. When I asked about if he was bathed, they said he was not, but did not offer me any kind of discount for the services that they promised but did not deliver. I will not be bringing my dogs back here!
