Services
We Start with an initial consultation of 1 hour to evaluate, train, instruct you and customize a training program for your specific needs. Dogs will be trained in your home or while going to shopping centers and other public places, over the course of 3 to 4 weeks. We then schedule training sessions to familiarize the owner with the techniques used to ensure the dog works well for you in your home.
Pro-Train Institute specializes teaching dog trainers and is the foremost dog trainers' school in the Western United States. Pro-Train has graduated students from all over the world who have come to receive the best possible training in the field of dog training today. The Institute is headed by Mark Castillero, Head Administrator and Director of Pro-Train since 1978.
Instruction lecture How to Teach Individually - Running an Obedience Group Class - Videos and discussion. This course offers protection philosophy and theory, personal protection dog training, obstacle course training, practical applications, and experience working with dogs and clients in preparation for Schutzhund training, scent discrimination, tracking and trailing procedures and agitation techniques with the use of hidden sleeve, muzzle and body suit.
People partnered with assistance dogs develop greater self-esteem, responsibility and confidence. A dog helps increase their independence by assisting them in accomplishing tasks which they previously could not perform alone. These dogs also increase the persons confidence and acceptance in social situations because a dog makes it easy for people to relate to that person instead of the disability. These dogs respond to different sounds which may include knocking, doorbell, phone ringing, alarm clock etc.

My husband and I are so lucky we found this place after having negative experiences with other places in the past. Our dog Deja was on leash/off leash and protection trained. We were absolutely beyond impressed with the results. We were truly in pure shock that our 40lb runt of the litter, American pitbull terrier was able to do such incredible protection work.
Every time we take our dog back for boarding or for a protection work refresher, she starts crying out of pure excitement to see all her trainer friends. Shell is absolutely incredible. a modern day dog whisperer - Our dog is completely obsessed with her. 11/10 would recommend (yup, this place is that good)

PROTECTION TRAINING! Our 17-month German Shepherd "Bear" has been training with Pro-train since he was 1 year old. 1st he attended obedience training. I was very skeptical in having my pet away for me for such a long period of time, but I put my trust in Mike and Shell, hoping I made the right decision. Immediately, after meeting the staff and visiting the facility, my concerns for leaving my pet all went away.
My husband and I were so pleased with the training and saw a big difference in Bear and his behavior's. My husband was inquiring on protections training and wanted to bring Bear back to Pro-train. Again, now for the 2nd time, my husband comes to me and says he wants to send Bear to protection training. My first reaction was a "NO". I thought he would be aggressive after his training and was very concerned once again.
I remembered Mike telling me about the training and it sounded very intense to me. I hesitantly agreed to have bear attend the protection training. 2 months seemed like forever and my husband attend the training every 10 days that is provided for the dog owners, but I never was able to attend. Fast forward 2 months and now its my day to pick up my Bear.
We get out of the car and I'm not sure what to expect, will I have an aggressive pet now? Bear immediately turned into the goofy puppy we have all known and loved. The trainers demonstrated with Bear as to what he has learned and how is able to adhere to their commands. I was so impressed with the level of experience, professionalism and compassion for the pets that Pro-train interacts with.
Our beloved Bear is a goofy, fun, loving and hilarious pet as he has always been. The only difference is he is a force to be reckoned with if danger comes our way. Lets just say he commands respect. Thank you Pro-train for always being 1st class instructors. I'll see you in an Hour since you are kindly boarding Bear while we are on vacation.

Shell and Protrain took our 6 month old APBT and did her on lead, off lead and protection training to a level I never expected. I now have a loving dog that loves everyone; unless you try to attack me and she will turn on like a police K-9. Shell and Protrain are the best I've ever seen and worked with. Thank you! Deja is now almost 2 and a fully trained at home police-like trained dog.

Posting as Brianne Dautel Pro Trainer Shell Kaminsky is by far one of the most amazing individuals I met in along time! Her patience, knowledge, and excellent communication makes her an amazing asset to this establishment. She understood our needs and was quick to address them. We took our shepherd "Bruin" to Pro Train desperately needing help in Advance Obedience Training.
Her patience, positivity, and kindness helped turn our dog into a completely different dog! We were taught basic interaction commands (such as sit, say, down).to more advance techniques (leave it, heel, stay, quiet, come) and on leash walking. We were in constant communication during his board and train, before and after. I never felt like there wasn't anything I couldn't ask her.

I don't even know where to start. In October 2021, we brought home our 8 week old Vizsla puppy. We barely got through the sleep and potty training but we were wanting just basic good manners training. We were referred to Pro-Train by my cousin, and we got way more than basic good manners. He is such a well behaved puppy now, it's made such a huge difference in our house. Pro-Train makes it a point to not just train our dogs but they take the time to train the humans.
It has been a game changer for us. Everyone at Pro-Train has been amazing but I will call out Shell, she's been great with not just our puppy, she is great with us, the humans, too. She was always willing to explain something to us over and over, her patience with us (and the puppy) is amazing. We didn't just get 3 weeks of training, the consistent follow up visits are fantastic, because it keeps us accountable. I highly highly HIGHLY recommend Pro-Train!

Shell is hands down the best dog trainer ever! She trained my service dog Tater as a hearing dog. Tater alerts me to sounds, cars, people, and so much more. Shell was patient with me as the handler and an overprotective dog mom. Shell also was amazing teaching not only my service dog but also me. She is very communicative and effective and thorough.
I can't help but praise her overall professionalism and how so has embraced my dog and our family. Shell also matched my husband with a service dog. Comet is the sweet boy who provides deep pressure therapy and blocks for when my husband is in crowded areas. Our family is in debt to Shell and ProTrain for making our family inclusive and they continue to provide support. Comet goes with us everywhere and has gone to Disneyland. Tater goes with me to school and to doctors appointments. We are lucky to have found such an amazing trainer and business. Shell you are a part of our happy family.

We are extremely happy with the board and train program that our English bulldog received. The staff is very professional and knowledgeable. The board and train program that we selected was three weeks long. At the end of each week, we would go in for a short demonstration of how he was being handled and got to see his improvement. At the end of the three weeks, it was a complete 180.we had an obedient dog who was just as loving as ever. I would definitely recommend this location to anyone who is looking for a training program for their pet.
