Services
Dr. Beth G. Overton, when she's not at work at one of her three hospitals, Dr. Beth enjoys spending quality time with her husband, David, and her three children, James, Anastasia and Griffin. They are all active members of Creekwood Church of Christ. Dr. Beth enjoys watching her alma maters, Auburn and Kentucky, during football and basketball season.
Keeping your pets healthy, happy, and safe throughout their lives begins with regular wellness and preventive care visits. We strongly encourage annual wellness examinations coupled with 6-month checkups. Animals age faster than we do, and they can't tell us when something is bothering them. With more frequent visits, we have a better chance of catching a disease or an illness early on when treatments can be more effective and before your pet experiences too much discomfort. We administer core vaccines and screen for parasites during your pet's yearly examination and provide boosters, lifestyle vaccines, parasite testing, and a tick panel (for dogs) at the 6-month checkup.

I was quoted one price and day of drop off was being charged another price and told that the quotes price wasn't enough for the vaccines. $17 a day to board which left $115 on quoted price. Had already had rabies. Then they think they could treat people however they want. I left my dog there for 20 minutes and decided my dog didn't deserve these people.
My dog is better than that. I left and quickly found another place to board her for half the price and better service. I see thousands of people a year. I guarantee that I will share my experience with every pet owner I know. Word of mouth goes a long way. DO NOT TAKE YOUR PETLS HERE! ANIMALS DESERVE THE BEST. I could use so many adjectives to describe the people I dealt with. They don't even deserve on star.

Dr Beth and her team are fabulous. I have miniature poodles and have used her thru the years for various servises. I had a puppy I brought home that was injured and could not walk. Dr Beth preformed surgery and now she runs everywhere all the time. She chases squirrels and actually caught one. If you are looking for a vet that is professional knowledgeable, compassionate and caring this is the place for you

I took my cat there to have it boarded, and there were additional charges, for treatments needed to be done, in order for my cat to stay there. I understand, that the veterinarian was likely following protocol, however, the front desk staff was extremely rude, when I inquired about additional charges. I was continually interrupted on the phone, when simply trying to ask questions.
My wife got on the phone with them, and ended up having the same problem. They were extremely rude to her, and also cut her off in the middle of sentences. If you change to use this veterinarian clinic, I would make sure, that you know everything up front before doing so. Not happy.

I love Dr Beth and follow her between both her clinics. I have been going to her since 2001 and have never had an issue. She is very kind, caring and competent. I can't speak to the other vets there and have so far never been charged for a prescription like some of the other reviews state. Also, they have the best groomer in the Mobile area. I highly recommend.

My cat needs kidney diet food and it requires a prescription. I've spent thousands of dollars at this place for my cat since 2006 and since I decided to get kidney diet food for my cat conveniently delivered to my doorstep (a service they didn't offer at the time) via chewy.com for a cheaper price than they offered, they charged a fee for the prescription!
Their reasoning being because I'm not buying the food from them. To make matters worse, after a few months they denied chewy.com's request for a refill since they hadn't seen my cat in a while. My cat is 15 years old and has bad kidneys, why in the heck would he ever come off of kidney diet food? I've already paid for the prescription one time.
Do I have to keep paying for it along with your overly expensive check up fees just to get my cat the food he needs to survive? That's just mean. This place cares a good deal more about money than helping your pets quality of life. Avoid.

I've been taking my cat here for two years now. I haven't had any problems, everyone is nice and I usually don't wait more then a few minutes last visit I didn't even wait long at all, I got my cats rabies shot and weighed him and we were out the door in minutes! My family been seeing these people for a while before I even got my cat so these people are well known. They are the most reasonable price vet I've seen so far and They are very friendly too!

My cat has chronic kidney disease and has been getting subcutaneous fluids for the past several years. Prior to my move to Mobile, Al, his vet monitored his renal function and electrolytes, as well as, adjusted his fluids and medications as needed. When I moved to Mobile, I took him to Irby Overton Vet Clinic expecting the same type of competent medical management, however was very disappointed. Unfortunately, I am more knowledgeable about my pet's chronic medical condition and medications then the "doctors" there.
To make matters worse, the vet seemed more interested in my wallet then in my pet's health. When I requested that his prescriptions be called into Walmart because they were a lot cheaper there, I got charged $6.00 per prescription just to call in the medication. I called other vet clinics in this area and no other vet charges for this. I am not sure why any vet there chose this profession, as none of them seem to even like animals. The entire staff was cold to my cat and no one could answer simple medical questions. If you love your pet, I strongly recommend staying away from this place!

My husband and I take in alot of strays we get them spayed or neutered doctor them back to help if necessary and then find homes for them. So I took a kitten in to be spay with a $20 voucher from the SPCA because it's very expensive. When I called to make the appointment and told the lady on the phone that I had the $20 voucher she gave me an appointment and never told me about all the extra charges that I would incur.
So when I got there with the cat they begin to tell me about all of these charges that were mandatory along with the $20 spay, even though all of our animals are on monthly flea treatments the lady told me that I had to pay for them to give the cat one of their 24 our flea pill and then I told her I didn't need any pain medicine because with all the other spay and neuter that I had plenty then I was informed that it was mandatory that I pay for extra pain meds.
I just wanted it to be done with it so my $20 spay then turned into around $60. I bent down to take the collar off of the kitten that was in the cat carrier when someone brought in a dog and its spooked the cat, so she freaked out and was trying to get away from the dog I didn't have a good grip on her so she scratched up my face and head very badly and then went running to the corner of the room.
I didn't realize how bad it was until I felt something running down my scalp and I looked down and there was blood literally pooling around my knees because I was still knelt on the floor. They called somebody from the back to come up to the front and I actually thought they were going to come see about me because there was so much blood that was dripping off of my face and my head and they went about checking the other people in never said are you okay or anything I stood up with my hand covering my left eye that I could feel blood and reached my hand out and said could I have a paper towel I was then given three or four paper towels and they continue to go about their day like everything was just completely normal and then one of the girls got upset because they couldn't catch the cat I started feeling the blood run down the other side of my head reach my hand out and said I need another paper towel I was handed another paper towel and then was told don't worry about cleaning the blood off the floor we'll get it.
I didn't know how bad it was but I walked outside because nobody was paying any attention to the fact that I was dripping blood everywhere and sat in my car for 15 minutes waiting on my mom to come and look at my wounds to see if I should go to the hospital because there was really a lot of blood and no one ever came out to even ask if I was okay.
I then get back to my house after going to the emergency room and they did tell me that they weren't deep enough for stitches but that I should get it super glued which I declined so that was on me. The only phone call I got was to see if I was going to make it back before they close to pick the cat up. And just in case anyone from the vet wants to deny this claim I will be adding pictures of my blood-soaked shirt and the paper towels they so lovingly gave me.
If these two horrible women in the front desk could treat a human like this imagine how they treat your animals when you're not there and to make matters worse They literally when about checking the other people in never said are you OK or anything I stood up with my hand cover in my left eye that I could feel blood and reached my hand out and said could I have a paper towel I was then given 3 or 4 paper towels and they continue to go about their day like everything was just completely normal and then one of the girls got upset because they couldn't catch the cat I then started feeling the blood run down the other side of my head reached my hand out and said I need another paper towel I was handed another paper towel and then was told don't worry about cleaning the blood off the floor will get it.

We decided to take our kitten here to have her spayed and after she was spayed we had to take her back twice. The first time for a suspected infection of the incision and the second time we left after waiting an hour and a half for a simple follow up to simply look at the site because it STILL looked puffy after 5 days. As we were leaving the staff acted like they did not care and as if we were just being impatient.
If fact, after leaving here on the second visit we went to our old vet's office where they know how to treat pets like they matter. I strongly do not recommend and will personally not go here again.
