Services
The Mobile SPCA offers a variety of dogs and cats for adoption. Most have come from our municipal shelters where they were found, picked up as strays or relinquished by their owners for a multitude of reasons including financial hardship, loss or change of job, divorce, marriage, birth of a child, allergies.
If you live in an apartment you must have paid any additional security fees and you must be willing to pay any additional rent. Why do we ask that you fill out a Pet Adoption Application before you can see any of our pets for adoption?. Since it is our goal to make sure every pet we place goes into a home best suited for its needs and the adopter gets the pet that best fits their lifestyle we need to know a little bit about you.
There may be some health or behavior conditions that could be unknown to us at the time of adoption. It is your responsibility to contact your veterinarian shortly after adoption. If any serious health conditions arise, please contact the Mobile SPCA at 633-3531 and perhaps we can help. If for any reason the newly adopted animal must be returned and you do so within seven days, you will, at our discretion, be refunded a portion of your adoption fee. After seven days, pets will be accepted for return but no refund will be made.
The Mobile SPCA is a limited-intake, adoption guarantee animal shelter. We maintain a waiting list for cats and a waiting list for dogs and take pets from the public as space comes available. Because of the transport program we are able to take dogs more quickly that cats. Depending on space we may be able to take cats or kittens from the public.

They helped me with two rescue puppies. Without their help I don't think the babies would have made it but now they have a great chance at life.

What a great group of people. Always looking out for others. Rescuing so many critters every day. Making sure the right person gets the best pet for them, their lifestyle and needs. Who says a service dog cannot be a critter who was once a stray.

Customer service is awful. They do not make the adoption experience pleasant or uplifting. The main lady in charge was down right unpleasant to deal with. I would recommend going anywhere else to find your new best friend because the management makes the adoption process almost not worth the effort.

These people obviously pick and choose who they want to have the dog. We applied for a pup the very second she was posted on the news, we called to show how interested we were in the baby waited just to be told she was adopted by someone. Every other dog we applied for they say the dog have heart worms etc.just excuses excuses. As bad as we wanted a baby to add to the family Mobile SPCA has made it really difficult but the dogs just sitting there in need of a home and they got the nerve to be picky

The only thing that is important to this " adoption " center or group is how many handouts & $$ they can get. I've seen too many posts stating how dirty they've done people. Recently come across another one where a lady found a beautiful orange kitty by the interstate in poor condition. Took it to the vet & was fully prepared to have this cat vetted u til a microchip for the spca was located deeming that the cat was never adopted by another individual or else it should've been swapped over. Supposedly it's " protocol " for them to take the cat back even though the lady wanted the baby.

They proceeded to tell her that they will be taking the cat and if she wanted him she would have to pay a $100 fee and fill out adoption papers to only be denied due to the dumbest of reason. She was asked how she would exercise the cat and she stated she had three acres with plenty of room for this baby to be exercised. But that's not good enough.

Now the cat can't be located. Could be at petsmart or could be dead but clearly there are MAJOR red flags & they need to be looked into immediately! Don't bother wasting your money donating to them. They probably line their pockets than actually tending to said animals.

They understand the weight of their work. I had a stray pitbull they wouldn't let me give to them. Instead I was directed to a bully rescue where the pitbull was trained and adopted into a good home.

We have adopted from this location previously. We viewed those available, completed an application. The cat was not ready to leave. My wife drove from our home in Florida to bring the cat home two weeks later. We have since then donated several times. Today we expected to, again, make a donation and view not only the cats but I am interested in adopting a dog.

We were informed, in an officious manner, that the application must be submitted before someone decides if and when we could visit the animals available for adoption. And I quote" Covid protection you understand ". If we had known the application would protect us we would have done so long ago. Insulting. I'm certain shelters much closer to home will welcome us.

We have no problem completing the application but don't plan to be waiting some unspecified time. We will, of course, share this with our local friends and business associates. Michael Hupalo 3525857955 S

I love the SPCA because of all of the wonderful help they provide and the fact that they TRY TO EDUCATE ALL PET OWNERS ON THE BENEFITS OF SPAYING & NEUTERING. I try to donate money as well as any unwanted clothing, household goods, anything to them - they have a store at their site and any money made goes right back into the business. Every time I've been there they are full with dogs and cats & kittens.

So look around your home, they can always use newspaper, bags of dry cat and dog food as well as any pet items. Also too, if you are in the area, stop by and check out their resale shop, I've found some good bargains in there; remember that every dollar spent goes right back into the company., Everyone that works there are all volunteers. And if you can't do anything above, open your wallet or checkbook, and try to donate a monthly amount -any amount is helpful 10.00, 15.00, I can tell you this, I know the animals there appreciate everything people do to help them.
