This is a great business. Stephanie did a great job grooming our dog. Highly recommended.

I had an appointment and they texted me that it was canceled. Then I could not get in touch with them for days to reschedule. When I did get my dog in for an appointment they did an awful job. It doesn't seem like they trimmed anything and her fur was even sticky all over and covered in mats. Also they were very aggressive and not gentle when brushing my dog. I feel bad I left my dog there for two hours and that now she is scared to be brushed. DO NOT bring your dog here if it has long hair that actually needs to be groomed.

Took my parents dog in for his nails to get trimmed I had been taking care of my parents and the dog was grieving from loosing both in such a short time and he was very moody but they took great care of him

If you have an anxious pup then I 100% would recommend coming here! I have been taking my 4 year old Aussie to the big box groomers for nail trims for years and he's always HATED it. I was advised by them that he would need a muzzle and not welcomed back. I found Dog O Mat and met Beth. Her behavioral focused approach and compassion toward animals made all the difference!

She understands K9s well and the perpetual trauma they experience with groomers and embraces a different approach to be successful. My only regret is that I didn't find her sooner! Thank you so much for showing my pup and me kindness and compassion!

Shop was smelly and noisy and water was cold. Shampoo is watered down. Owner was rude. Dogs roaming around without leash and without proper introduction to leashed dogs.

I bring my Blue Heeler in for a monthly bath and we both have a great experience. It's a Self serve bath service. I clean my dog, they clean the mess. What could be simpler? This is my Fourth dog using Dog o Mat. We're thankful for this business and the wonderful owner!

I have been here twice. Both times were great. I opted for self service. Doggie shampoo, conditioner, and no-tears face wash were all provided, as well as ear cleaner.cotton balls, towels, etc. After a nice warm shower in the doggie bathtub, it's over to the drying station, with a lovely high powered blow dryer (with heat) for sigs. I spent 30-45 minutes here washing and grooming my 90lb lab. The best part? The hair doesn't go down my drain at home. Staff is great. Helpful to first time visitors too.

I took both of my dogs in September to be groomed by Stephanie. One is very skittish---she was so great with both of them (goldendoodle, maltese mix)---I am so happy I found them. When we picked them up they were so calm and happy.

This place is awesome! It has everything you need to wash your dog, including body soap, ear cleaner with cotton balls, and tear free face soap. Towels and wash rags are also included. You simply clip your dog in to keep them in place, and select the shower head with lukewarm water. They've thought of everything! I also recently had my dog's nails clipped here. My dog is a nervous type, but both Beth and Anne were so sweet, incredibly helpful, and I could tell they love and enjoy dogs. Would recommend 1000%

We took our baby GoldenDoodle in and requested a slight summer trim, due to him being a baby we didn't want to take off too much. Once we picked him up he was still damp, and they only cut the front of his face and his face is totally uneven with the rest of his body. Not even his paws, legs, stomach, or back look like it has been look like it has been trimmed. We are very disappointed and it was not worth $45 in ANY way.

I took my senior dog here for years up until the month he passed on. The kindness and love they had for my sweet boy doesn't compare. The last time we went both of the women working were so sweet: could see he was old and frail and complimented me through him "You have a great mom loving you through this." He's been gone from me for 2 years now and I still think of how much they cared for my best friend and first baby. Thank you so much

This was my sensitive dog's first visit and I couldn't be happier. Anna made her as relaxed as possible and gave her a top rate grooming. We have found our new groomer!

I have never been happier! My dog is super nervous and freaked out at another groomer. So, we brought him here because we can wash him ourselves! Such a great spot! You can bring your own treats if needed, the supplies were right there. We could have done more with him (cut his nails, haircut, etc.) but we wanted to go slow. Niles did a great job. The staff was helpful and super nice! We got sure will be going back!

I took my mini dachshund puppy here for her first groom and I could not have asked for a better experience! Beth was so patient and kind, and even was willing to teach me how to groom her myself if I wanted. She gave Lilo natural treats during the process and let me stay with her the entire time. Highly highly recommend going here, I have nothing bad to say!

DO NOT COME HERE. I brought my dog in and they said they might have to cut her short but would keep it as long as possible. Well, they shaved her. And then shaved parts of her face, but not the whole thing. And shaved her ears which I've never even heard of? She had hair hanging over her eyes and mouth, both of which were still dirty and uneven. Anyway, I called them saying I was very unhappy with the cut, and they said they couldn't do her face because she squirmed.

Nobody called me about it, and when I got there to pick her up they simply charged me the $45 and said nothing. They offered to reschedule me but I ended up just fixing it as best I could myself, for fear of them taking more fur off. See before and after photos.

What a great time. This facility does both grooming for you, or you can use their equipment. Even better we got a just ask and get a sanitary for my fluffy Australian shepherd. I also got much needed advice on how to keep my Puppy safe and comfortable for his first visits to a grooming facility. The owner is kind and courteous, I just love this place

Both my dog & I feel completely at home at Dog O Mat 2! But instead of the aftermath of fur being in my house, it stays behind, and just my clean, floofy puppy comes home! The staff is super helpful, from just a casual conversation to Beth teaching you her professional grooming tips and tricks! We are able to go often, as the prices are so reasonable!

Beth is the kindest small business owner in Ann Arbor. Once when my poor pup had an accident with a nail clip, Beth went above and beyond to help me care for him. She always remembers my dog's name, and she's so good with animals. Love this place.

Love this place! Very nice owner, relaxed atmosphere and love that I can bring my dog here to wash myself and someone else cleans up after me Provides a variety of soaps to use depending on the need and may cost a little more depending on the need as well but I think it is well worth it (you can always bring your own as well). Also provides assistance with nails, provides stuff for the ears and you can dry your dog there as well. Will continue to bring the puppy here to wash myself

Very friendly and knowledgeable staff! My favorite place to bring my dog (and my dog's favorite place to go). Self serve grooming with everything you could want or need. Helpful with tips on grooming. They have nail clippers if you want to clip your dogs nails but they can also trim them and it is only $10. Can also book a professional groom as well.

They do have their dogs loose but I can let them know if my dog isn't friendly and they have been good about putting the dogs behind the counter or in a back room. I have seen some reviews that say the place is "filthy" but I have to disagree. I have come in when it has been packed and yes, there is hair flying and dirt from people's shoes mixing with the water from the tubs, but I have seen the staff cleaning and trying to keep up.

It is a dog grooming facility so when it is busy and dogs are being groomed it seems to be expected that is may get a little messy. I have also been in when it is slow and the place is spotless. They have prices posted by the counter. They also are happy to take time with more nervous dogs. Always a 5 star recommendation from me!

I have to add my voice to the customers who are complaining about the loose dogs at the Ann Arbor Dog-o-mat. I have been going there sporadically over the past 18 years. Way back when, the owner had her two golden retrievers that hung out around the desk. At that time I had a Cavalier so the combo of Goldens and a Cavalier didn't lead to any problems.

Now I have a Border Terrier with leash aggression and the dogs that run loose currently are a large Rottweiler, medium sized mixed breed and a small dog. I stopped today and was met at the door by the Rottweiler and mixed breed that blocked entry. I knocked and the staff called the two away from the door. As I entered with my dog, a small dog ran toward us which prompted the Rottweiler to approach. Needless to say, I left and will never go back. Hard to believe that a business centered on dogs doesn't understand basic dog safety. I liked the place but no more :-

Honestly worst dog washing facility I've ever been to. I walked in and there's no prices. The owners dogs were laying on the floor growling at my dog the whole time we waited. Once a tub became available my Great Dane had some trouble trying to get up the rickety wooden stairs to the tub. The worst part is they have a metal pole with noose that you secure your dog in that hangs from above.

The workers were complaining that they have to work and I passed on using the shop vac to blow dry my dog. I paid and left to never return again. shame cause I love to support local businesses.

I was so happy to find this self-service dog-mat since moving to A2 because there was an amazing dog-mat in my former city. I visited Dog-O-Mat on a Sunday, and there were four dogs waiting in front of me. All five bath tubs in the back were being used. The waiting room was dirty, filled with stuff, and had minimal seats. I was lucky enough to grab a seat in the waiting room (not everyone there had a seat), and I waited for about 5 minutes before someone came to greet me and let me know when a tub would be available.

When it was finally my turn to take my pup into the tub area, the the lady helped me get my dog into the tub. She explained the process although I had to ask for an apron (you would think that would be a given). Afterwards, I was able to pay rather quickly. The bathing area was bland and nothing special. The workers didn't interact with my dog, although they asked me about him. Overall, it did the job, but it wasn't anything special.

Solid 5 star business. Brought my ADHD terrier in for a long overdue groom and wash and was extremely satisfied with the results. I was looking forward to coming in as they don't use dryer crates that most dog groomers use and it's comforting that I could stay with the little guy the entire time. Caroline took the time to listen to what I wanted and went to work. She was quick, yet careful and my dog looks (and smells) great. Reasonable cost, friendly employees with work done very professionally.

Great spot! I brought my newly rescued Irish Wolfhound in before Thanksgiving. He was all matted and pretty stinky. I couldn't get him an appointment fast enough anywhere else. It was so affordable and kind of fun to DIY. The staff was very helpful! They have steps to tubs for big dogs (but mine was afraid so we lifted him).

Our girl is getting on in years and has a seizure disorder. We love bringing her to the dog-o-mat where we can attend to her special needs personally. Everyone there is so nice, customers and the owner alike!

We went here for the first time yesterday, and I was nervous because my pup can get a little crazy when she's in new places. The few dogs that were just hanging out there were super friendly, and my dog calmed down right away. We were given a quick walk through (it seems like all of the shampoos are made in-house, which is awesome) and we got to work. 20 minutes later we had a clean, dry, happy dog, and for a VERY reasonable price. Usually I have to bathe my dog bent over our tub, so it saved me a lot of back pain too. We'll definitely be regulars here from now on.

WHat is not to love about this place?! We walked in with 2 stinky, hairy dogs with long nails. We used their hair trimmer, nail clipper, and the awesome elevated deep tub for both dogs. $35 and an hour later, walked out with two beautiful dogs and no mess for me to clean up. This is our go-to place!

This is our go to self grooming for our dog, no appointment needed. Extremely helpful and treat you like family the moment you walk in the door. Affordable pricing as well as a special treat for your dog. Highly recommend!

The girl stunk and was in bad need of a bath. Dog-o-mat is close to home and promised to be less $$$ than a groomer-we took her in with no appointment and washed, conditioned and dried her as well as got her nails cut in 30 minutes and for just $24. Awesome elevated tub for her and aprons for us kept mess to a minimum - and two "house dogs" that were among the gentlest dogs I've seen. Our dog, who has been known to be fairly dog selective didn't bat an eye. We are sold and will be regulars! Yay for dog-o-mat!

I am SO glad I found this place! We moved here from out of town and I was having a difficult time finding a good place to groom our large pup. Instead of paying an asinine amount to have her professional groomed someplace else, I do the majority of it myself here! I like that I can pick and choose the services I would rather do myself or hire dog-o-mat to do it for me. Friendly staff, great prices, nice products = win-win!

My big mutt was dirty. So I took her here. $20 later, her hair was clogging up someone else's drain, and the water she shook when she wouldn't let me blow dry her is on someone else's walls. Worth every penny.
