My name is Cori (Corrine) Graves. I am the owner of 4 Paws Unleashed, Inc. I started in the animal field as a graduated Veterinary Technician with a degree in Veterinary Technology in 2005. With my veterinary technician background and 2 years experience at a local veterinary hospital, I envisioned a place where your pets are treated as one of my own family, I envisioned a place where dogs were excited to go to the front door, instead of pulling in the opposite direction.I opened my first location in North Des Moines, in May of 2007.
No more dreaded dog guilt! Let your dog enjoy the day with us in a nurturing, fun, and clean environment with a dog-loving staff that will ensure a friendly and safe environment. Tired of the same old kennel, where your dog only gets out a few times a day to go potty? Here at 4 Paws Unleashed, you can enroll your furry friend in doggie daycare while he/she boards.
You will find 3 forms that all of our clients are required to read, 2 need your signature before we can start serving your needs. Boarding & Daycare Rules - This document should be read by all clients that plan to use 4Paws Unleashed for boarding services or daycare. This does not have to be printed and brought in.

We just boarded for the first time at 4 Paws Unleashed. Our dogs were fine- I will say confirm their drop off hours. We dropped off on Saturday and no one mentioned they only take dogs from 8-10a and 4-6. We arrived at 12 (we had a 2:30 flight) and no one was around so we drove back 20 mins home to drop Them and thankfully had a family member take them. Being a first time visitor I think that should have been communicated.

Everyone on here complaining about their high standard grooming expectations at a daycare/boarding facility like they complain about their salad at McDonalds. This place is great. This is the ONLY facility that my dog likes. She has anxiety issues with being in new places at first. EVERY other daycare I go to the staff tells me it's MY dog. 4paws brought her in and let Percy go at her own pace.
She can't get enough it seems. When I pick her up the staff members tell me how great she's been and what kind of friends Percy's made. I'll always recommend this place.

It doesn't get better than 4 Paws! Our dogs have been going to daycare and doing boarding here for a couple of years and it has made all the difference. From the moment you walk in where the employees know your dogs' names and are happy to see them, to the webcams where you can confidently watch your pup interact with others and see all the stringent cleaning processes the staff does throughout the day.
We were very nervous to let our dogs go anywhere that wasn't us or family (they are our children, after all!) but couldn't be happier we found this awesome, family-run place. Especially throughout the pandemic, they were also cautious, communicative and compassionate. Absolutely the best money we could spend on our dogs. Thanks for everything, 4-Paws!

Helen came highly recommended by a friend and although she was unavailable for the dates I needed she used her very extensive network to put us in touch with Laura who was available to housesit for 2 weeks. She has been absolutely fantastic and caring for our 2 pups including our complicated pancreatic senior. I am not too proud to say that they were slightly disappointed that is was not Laura and the lovely Luna walking through the door after 2 weeks away! Absolute A star service from Helen, Laura and Luna. Now I cannot recommend 4 Paws Unleashed highly enough.

Helen provides an excellent 5 star dog walking service and my dog absolutely loves going anywhere with her. Jenny (my dog) isn't a fan of going in the car but as soon as Helen arrives she jumps right in and waits for the adventure to start. She posts pictures and videos on Instagram along with tracking of their adventures that day and to be honest Iv felt a little envious of their days out whilst Iv been stuck at work.
She is a genuinely lovely lady who is aware of each dogs individual needs. She isn't just a quick 30 min walk round the block. She drives to woodlands, the moors or the beach and gives the dog a really good stimulated walk. I highly recommend her and so does my dog

I used to take my dog there but I won't recommend them to any one looking for boarding or daycare. We feel that they do not understand different breeds and always had an issue with our puppy that is less than a year old. Each time he went something happened and they never knew what happened when the place has cameras. The last time was the last straw and he will never be going back and I wouldn't recommend. I would only say if Justin is there he seems great with all the dogs but Emily and the others are not.

Helen is Amazing with my dog Rocco and always goes above and beyond, I 100%trust her with my dog and he's very unpredictable as a jack Russell. You can see she has a absolute love for her job and has even helped with roccos skin condition and took him to vets on occasions. Has to be said my dog waits every morning crying at the door for her arrival thanks Helen

Took care of my dogs like they were family. Always plenty of communication and very friendly staff. They understood we had an emergency from the Derecho storm and took them in until we could find a place to live that allowed dogs! My babies are more well mannered and listen to me better than they ever did before! Thank you ALL at 4Paws! We love you!

Wanting to write a review as I feel 4 Paws deserves a higher rating than it currently has. It's not a luxurious facility, but we've never had any issues and their prices are friendly to my budget. I have 5 animals in total, 3 are "regularly" boarded (every couple months, maybe, for a weekend) 2 large dogs and 1 diabetic cat. The staff is usually pleasant but have had a few that weren't great, and it is occasionally difficult to get someone to answer the phone - that is the only reason I'm knocking off a star.
In all fairness though I've had this experience at more expensive boarding facilities too. In general my girls are excited when they get here and worn out when they get home. There have been a couple incidents with kennel cough that fortunately my dogs haven't caught but they've ALWAYS reported it to us as a heads up. I like that they have the cameras on the play area as I like to check-in on the dogs when I'm away. I also like that they take cats and will administer insulin as being able to drop all three off at the same location is a life saver.

Our family boarded 4 dogs here and 3 of the 4 required veterinary care within days of pickup. They were treated for respiratory infections, kennel cough and infection in their eyes. So, not only did we have to pay the boarding for them, we had a $300 vet bill to pay after the fact. I understand these type of things happen at a kennel, but it would have been courteous of them to make me aware of the illness when I picked them up.
And yes, they knew about it the day I dropped off as I overheard a person leaving a voice mail for them stating the same fact. I was, however, leaving town at that point and had no time to make other arrangements.

I'll get right to the point, they didn't groom our baby. She smelled good on the top of her head but no where else. Her nails were so long she clicked across the floor when she walked and now she's having problems going to the bathroom because the girl hurt her when she squeezed her glands. They tried to charge me for brushing her teeth when we didn't ask them to.
It cost 64.00 or thereabouts to get her groomed and they didn't even put a bow or handkerchief on her. We were also not happy with the boarding services they give every time we went her bed was soiled and we always had food left so we knew they didn't feed her by our instructions. Guess you get what you pay for! Our baby is worth more than that so never again!

This daycare is ok. I have taken my dog here since I came back to Des Moines in 2012. Most of the staff was friendly and pleasant, however there is a younger girl there typically in the afternoon who could use some "personality" training. Last Friday was officially my dogs last day at this daycare because they continuously charge me a different price every single time I would ask them to bathe my dog.
I think it is very unprofessional and quite suspicious that every single bath is a different price and the prices are not posted anywhere. I have told them about this issue after each occurrence and the rude girl that I referred to above loves to try and argue with me about what I've paid each time. Clearly she is not intelligent enough to understand that by her calling out different numbers (as if she is proving some point) that is the issue.the price should not be varying so much for the exact same service. Nonetheless, I got tired of arguing with them about this particular piece of unprofessional conduct. So my dog will be starting a new daycare next week, it's always about the principle for me (not the money) but my money spends anywhere.

Best boarding kennel we've ever used. They take very good care of pups. I travel a lot, sometimes for a very long time. My dog didn't like other places we've used, but she loves staying here. And she stays very healthy and eats well during her stay. (My dog refused to eat or got so stressed when she stayed at other places.) I feel very lucky to have them in DM.
