Oh my goodness WHERE to begin. Just came in and bought my cats trinkets, and niknacks for the the upcoming weeks. To say the least the manager on staff at the time (I believe Jennifer-Might've been the Store Manager I can't remember), had been so polite and nice about any questions no matter how random they were. 10/10 Recommended- only downside there's not more of them!

This is an extremely negligent groomer! Do not take your animal here! My friend brought her cat here to be groomed and had it severely injured, the groomer refused to pay for the treatment after accepting responsibility for the injury. My friend had to take her cat to an emergency after hours vet and wait alone for numerous hours why her cat was in surgery.

In cost my friend $1200 to repair the damage done by the Smitten Kitten groomer. Now my friend and her cat will both have to deal with weeks of healing/pain, a cone, more possible vet visits, and just plain agony from the surgery. This is unacceptable from a grooming business! First off if you as a business cause harm to an animal you are responsible for taking care of the charges to repair those damages. Secondly this is just bad customer service for a business that is supposed to be in the business of caring for animals! Please do not trust them with your animals!

Wow- I'm so happy with smitten kitten. My 16 year old 20 lb big man really needed a good grooming. His dandruff was wild, and his hair was out of control (whe came to live with me after being a traveling cat in my mom's RV for the last five years). I tried grooming him myself, but after his first appt at smitten kitten, he straight up FEELS like a kitten!

He is now the softest, fattest, oldest man- and I will 1000% be bringing him back when it's time. It's been about a week now and his dandruff is completely gone still, and still very soft! I feel like this sounds like a fake, hype ad- but I seriously just love you guys

Best place ever. A low-anxiety experience with these cat experts! I have had one of my cats get claw-caps on a few times and I'm in and out in a few minutes with a happy cat. Highly recommend

The people who work here really know cats. I am an overprotective cat mama and I needed to have my long haired cat groomed, for the first time. I was really nervous, but the person who talked with me when I arrived helped me feel at ease. I was satisfied with the job and will bring him back if ever needed. I really recommend using smitten kitten for grooming because they specialize in caring for cats, versus taking your cat to a place that grooms dogs and will also groom cats. Cats are very different and knowing the people handling my cat are cat people really made a difference for me. I've also been in a couple times for supplies and everyone I've interacted with who works there really knows their stuff. Plus the shop cats are so adorable!

Terrible customer service. Showed up for my appointment today 3/16/22, and was informed that I was a "no call no show" for 3/5/22. I was not. I called on 3/4/22 to reschedule my appointment and spoke with a female staff member. So as she was arguing with me about what I did and didn't do - I showed her my call log on my phone, she said "that's only a minute".

I said maybe it was only a minute but someone rescheduled my appointment during that phone call. I heard excuse after excuse about how busy they are and how I was a no call no show on the 5th. Not once did I hear an I'm sorry or any sort of ownership taken for the appointment I was there for today! Instead I spent about 7 minutes hearing about me being a no call no show on the 5th. Which I was not. Would not recommend.

My little sphynx baby Thea is THE live of my life. I am on vacation this weekend and just dropped off my skinfant for her first time boarding. The staff was friendly, amazingly accommodating, and knew their cat stuff. Thea was unhappy when I left her, but she quickly warmed up to everyone there-including the owner's daughter! I was feeling sad about being a part from my little nudacris so I called - yes, already.

The Ankeny location is still working in getting their camera system up, but Liv offered to send some pictures of happy Thea to me via email to soothe the hold in my heart. So great! Love this little shop so much and I wouldn't leave my kitten with anyone else. 11/10 recommend!

They do a great job with taking care of my cat. My cat has the personality of an introvert who will stay in 1 spot for an extended duration of time. However, having her stay at SmittenKittens twice now, she doesn't stay cooped up in her travel carrier. She will sit on the cat tree and walk around at time. Having the ability to watch her while on vacation or business trips keeps my mind at ease. Appreciate what they do and keeping cat safe during travel or away from home.

I go in about every two months to get nail caps on my cats. Super nice staff and also very knowledgeable. I am in and out with my two cats in about three minutes. Cute and cozy space. Highly recommend!

Asked for my long hair cat not to get shaved, just brushed and washed. They did a great job. Cleaned her ears and trimmed her toes too. My cat is starting to get old and has some sensitive spot and I think they took good care of her because she wasn't traumatized when she got home. She needed a butt shave though because as she ages she doesn't clean back there as well.

I'll be returning as needed for her because she also came home happy and without major anxiety. Their office is well maintained and has some pretty cute cats roaming about which is fun as well. Very happy

I've loved SK for years for their amazing toy selection, variety of quality food, and excellent service. A few months ago, I had the opportunity to try out their boarding services and I was not disappointed. My 14 year old cat enjoyed their quiet, comfortable, dog-free environment for just over a week and I had complete peace of mind knowing she was happy and safe with Smitten Kitten's attentive staff while I was away. Boarding fees were very affordable and, as always, Smitten Kitten's personalized care and service was second to none. I am so grateful to have this gem in our community!

Our cat is a lil hefty and she stopped grooming her bottom. Not to mention she has a medium coat that fills our whole house with fur. My family also suffers with animal allergies. So we decided getting her a lion cut might be appropriate. Let me tell you the cut changed our kitty's life! She loves being pet now and won't stop cuddling. I swear before her hair cut she was mostly stand offish and kept to herself.

I don't know if she enjoys the feeling of being pet now, or what it is. I know some people think you shouldn't cut a cats fur, but I can tell she genuinely enjoys it. The staff, pricing, and ease of getting an appointment were a bonus. I highly recommend this place.

A cat store in DSM?!? Only the best news Ive found out since moving to the area a couple months ago. The owner(?) or whoever was working was phenomenal and a total cat mom - that energy is so real haha I have two bigger boys and have a hard time finding cat beds that fit them. Smitten Kitten had a wide variety of beds and all at reasonable "boutique" pricing!

So the boys were able to get a xmas gift and have been so happy with it. They have a great variety of food, treats, toys, beds, litter, and some fun gadgets. Im pretty sure they do grooming as well! Easy street parking right up front or along the block next to it :)

My cat was so soft after grooming! I really appreciate that the scent of the products they use is very light as cats have a heightened sense of smell. They groomed her exactly as I asked and they seem to be a caring and fun staff. My kitty was in her carrier and ready to go at the time they told me to pick her up. Smitten Kitten has a great little shop, too!

I am happy to find a store with several kitty food, treat, etc. options and they carry a wide variety of Yeowz! Catnip toys! Hands down these are absolutely the best catnip toys ever made and Smitten Kitten has a lot from which to choose. I will be going back again soon!

Adorable little shop, cute name and awesome cat wallpaper. Came to shop for my cat's birthday. Found him so many toys that he absolutely LOVES! The staff was very friendly and helped me select a good snack for him. He also loved that- and he's a picky dude. They have adoptable kittens running around, which made it so much more fun, it was good to see what toys they reacted to. I could've left with much more than what I bargained for. Will definitely be back when I'm in the area.

Petey loves his lion cut! Very reasonable prices ($55) that includes a bath, nail trim, & cut! It's our second time coming here & they do an awesome job! Definitely recommend! Last pic of pete is his before pic at the vet smitten requires your cat to be UTD on vaccinations.

Once again, Smitten Kitten did an excellent grooming job on our Maine Coon cat, JD. He looks so beautiful and smells good too! Everyone there is so nice and what a great supply of all things cats! We'll be back!

Brought our Balinese cat in for a lion's cut. Even though he was quite anxious and likely difficult, they did an excellent job. Wonderful service from the time we walked in the door. We will return in the future.

Great people! Sooo gentle and nice with my cat + fairly affordable compared to all the other places around! They did the "lion's haircut" to my cat because she was full of knots! 100% Cat lover's place!

Smitten Kitten salon is excellent! I call to set up an appointment, they can typically get me in within a week of when I call. I get my cat the lion cut which includes a bath, nail trimming, and ear cleaning. They provide an excellent service and are very affordably priced. All the staff there are very friendly and really love the animals. I like that this is a cat only salon, it makes the experience less traumatizing for my cat than an all pet salon. The in house kitties are really friendly, they also have cats available for adoption! Great services provided and great people!
