Went there for our kittens first vet appointment and will not be returning. While most of the staff seemed friendly and kind, they all seemed rather undertrained and I genuinely was concerned that none of them knew what they were doing. I am very understanding when staff may be new or having a rough time, but when it is the health of our loved kitten that is concerned, I only have so much patience.
We waited 90 minutes and the vet only interacted with us for about a minute. I am convinced that he did not even look at our kitten. He came into the room after supposedly giving her shots and examining her and then proceeded to take a solid 30 second basically assaulting her to see if she was a girl. So obviously she was not examined before. After discovering her sex the doctor was about to race out of the room.
My boyfriend quickly asked if he had any recommendations for food for her and he responded with.kitten food. We brought our kitten there under the impression that we would have the opportunity to have all of our first time kitten parents questions and concerns addressed, and we were incredibly let down. We will be finding a new vet who can manage their time, actually do their job and examine our kitten, and will give us the guidance and reassurance we were seeking in this office. The only positive thing I have to say for this office is that it was extremely affordable. I guess you really do get what you pay for in this case.

This happened a while ago but I think about it all of the time and need to share. I put my cat, Mr. ChaCha down here. I was told they would call me in a few days so I could have a paw print of my cat that they set in clay. After 2 weeks I hadn't heard anything back and gave them a call. I told them I was calling for my cats paw print and was put on hold for a long time.
When the person on the phone came back she told me it was ready. When I picked it up that paw print had claws. well when I bought Mr. ChaCha he was declawed. I can only come to the conclusion that in death Mr. ChaCha grew claws. or they gave me another random cats paw print because they had forgotten :/ :

Terrible experience. I was quoted $70 less for a mobile vaccination and heart worm test. They never contacted me with the results of the test or provided an itemized bill for services - just a statement for over $200. I feel I was taken advantage of being a new client and new to Nebraska. I came from a very expensive state (CO) and my vet travelled over 15 miles - this clinic is 2 miles from my house and much most expensive. Vets were not as professional as I'm used to. I will find another vet for my 14 yo dog.

We're from Omaha and visited Lincoln for a funeral and I boarded my dog here for 4 hours. Although my dog is current on rabies, DHPp, bordatella, heartworm and flea/tick treatment, they forced me to get the first of two shots for both Lepto and also influenza and charged me for a new patient exam. Total charge for daycare--$16. Total charged for unneeded unwanted extras---$84. What a ripoff! My vet in Omaha doesn't even stock the flu vaccine since they never use it.

NAMC was overall and okay place to go to on short notice. However, I believe that's what everyone thinks when coming here. About a week after the visit my cat has started to sneeze. So when I called back to ask if there had been any other cats in the facility with an upper respiratory infection the receptionist went into "save our ass mode" is what I'd like to call it.
Basically saying there's no way we could prove that our indoor cat that has no contact with any other cat or the owners who also don't go around any other cats could've gotten it from their vet. Because they wipe down all rooms before hand, which Is probably true but my cat didn't stay in the room with me the entire time they took her back to get her ears cleaned, also on the note if their unable to pull up records of a possible cross contamination and take responsibility of the matter (or to even see if it's a possibility) says a lot about where their priorities lie.

This hospital held my puppy hostage for Ransom, and I was told that I couldn't get him back unless I came up with over $3,000. If not, they would kill him. He was only 5 1/2 months old If I could do negative stars, I would. My puppy became very ill on Saturday, I took him a place I knew was open. He was deathly ill. I could make this story long because it is, but I am simply going to summarize the end results.
In 4 and 1/2 days the bill to care for my puppy Walter was over $3,000. at that point they wanted to do more lab work, X-rays, and put down a new feeding tube. Those procedures alone would be an approximate additional $1,000. Each night stay was approximately $1,000. There was no firm diagnosis. Here is where I get really angry:. I was told my options were to pay for the additional tests and lab etc, orI could pay off the complete bill as it was at over $3,000 and take him to another vet, or I could have him put down.
No matter what, I did not have the option of getting my dog without paying the $3,000. In essence they were holding my dog hostage with threat of death unless I paid $3,000 plus. I thank God for the nonprofit organization Cause For Paws. They saved Walter's life! Ehlers Veterinary is now providing excellent and reasonable care and Walter is making slow but steady recovery.

My son an his wife had to make the tough choice to put their dog Sugaree to sleep. It was so hard for them . The staff an Dr were very kind an caring. They gave us a room right away, they gave us time to say goodbye. When it was time they were compasioniste an caring. If they be like this in that situation I would recommend highly.

Been going here for 25 years but I think we are going to look elsewhere. Went in for vaccinations for our pets and it took an hour and half. I Think they have become so big they have lost their personal touch. Some of their Vets sound so routine and transactional instead making you feel like they really care about your pet. Dr Forney and Frey have always been top notch but the rest of staff just is not at their caliber. They also try to charge for everything they can which is disappointing.

We went to NAMEC to have our 17 year dog put down. They were very compassionate and patient. Kyle spent time with us to explain the process and during the process knelt down and pet our dog, Payton. Dr. Timmons also showed compassion and tenderness. An experience that could have been traumatizing was peaceful and healing. Thank you!

Life saver. Our sweet little ferret was in bad shape on a Sunday morning. Our vet sent us to the emergency vets in the Omaha area, all who only offered to put her to sleep. She was only 7 months old. I jumped on the Nebraska Ferret forum and people in the group told us to get to Lincoln fast. We did. Dr. Frey took her right away. It seems she got into something around the house and had poisoned herself.
Her kidney levels where high and she was struggling. NAMC took her in, gave her fluids and meds and kept her until Tuesday morning. Dr. Frey called us to keep us updated. Our ferret is now 9 months old and happy and healthy. We are so grateful to Dr. Frey and the team for loving our fur baby like we do and for their compassion and patience with us and our ferret. Amazing staff. Thank you thank you!

After taking my dog to two other clinics in Lincoln, I swear this 3rd choice was the best one. They really, truly care about animals here. They treated my dog with so much love and care about her wellbeing as much as I do. I can't praise them enough. Both the techs and the vet were thoroughly in listening to us and explaining what was potentially wrong, and the steps we needed to take. I will always come back here!

Amazing with the animals not great at billing. more than a couple times we agreed on a date for billing so I could expect the expense and budget accordingly, however not one single time has this facility actually billed on the correct date. So if you must just expect to be surprised and hopefully you don't live pay check to pay check. Just because they agree to bill you on a certain date. they likely will not be anywhere close to the agreement. However I am extremely grateful for the treatment my furbaby received the Veterinarians here are impeccable

I had to say goodbye to my buddy of 9 years and Dr. Cosgrove and the staff here helped me through the worse day of my life in 10 years with immense compassion and love. So when my new boy rescued me the first call I made was to book his appointment here. This is where we come for all our pet health needs!

In the past, NAMC did really well for my two dogs. But lately in the past 3 months when I needed check ups and vaccines for them, it seems that their caring attitude and communication about my pets' diagnosis have since declined. I see that some of the staff cares about my dogs, while others do not. Also it's as if they are afraid to communicate with me about my pet's diagnosis. Recently, as recently as of today; I took one of my dogs in for an ear infection.
I did not receive any communication as to what the bacterial name of the infection was. It would have been nice to know, since I am the owner. Also I was just informed today that they no longer assist pet owners with Vet insurance claims, at least not with the one I carry. I was under the assumption that they assisted owners with claims since they did help me with a claim back in March 2019.
This seems rather odd to me that they made changes without informing pet owners and it furthers my point in that the lack of communication has increased. I am not sure that this is the proper place for me to take my dogs any longer. I can see the need for some services as they do have weekend and night on-call for emergencies, but that's about it. As for a primary VET for my dogs, I think I know who I need to go see from here on out.

My friend had to make the toughest decision today to let her little fur baby go. Dr. Hagen was amazing! Even though my friends little girl was not able to make it. Dr. Hagen and his entire staff was tremendously kind and caring. My friend was able to stay with her fur baby as long as she wanted to. Even though it was a tough experience. I can not say enough good about this office and staff! Thank you for explaining all the options and realities to my friend and then helping her through a very tough day!

This place is great. My dog is prone to respiratory issues. So, when she got sick in the night, I had to take her in. Dr. Riley and her staff were kind and genuinely cared about the dog. They didn't ask for payment until after the dog was released to go home. This place was so much better than Emergency Vet Services who demanded $500 before they would look at her. Then told me she was worse than she was to get more money put of me.

Bring a book.3 visits in a week and many many hours in a secluded room. They always have excuses about being busy or something came up. I think they are just that disorganized. This morning I brought my dog in for surgery. We were there for several hours the night before and had an EKG and bloodwork done. A surgery was scheduled. I thought it would be quick.just drop him off and go. Nope, they sent me to a room for almost an hour without explanation.
I didn't know if they were going to give me a bad report from the tests the day before. Was something wrong? Was my dog at death's door? Nope, they just couldn't find the paperwork. They seem to know basics around a dog.but otherwise, they are a mess. Oh, and I found out at 4pm they weren't going to do the surgery they scheduled for 3pm. *sigh*

I know that any medical professional's worst nightmare is a pet owner or patient who figures she already knows the diagnosis, however. I went to Nebraska Animal Medical Center when my little corgi's rear legs started going out on her, because they have a water therapy tank, but I should have waited until I had the diagnosis elsewhere. I had asked for a specialist in neurological issues.
And perhaps she was, but she was very young and very loud, and both I and my dog were NOT put at ease immediately. My little dog is a snarling cur at the vets, particularly on the slippery steel tables. Most every vet I went to wanted x-Rays, which makes sense, but with my pup, the added expense of putting her under to get them was a factor. Anyway, this young loud vet insisted that my own diagnosis of Degenerative Myelopathy couldn't be correct because only German Shepherds got that.
All one has to do is get on Google to see this is not true. She thought it must be a pinched spinal situation though I protested that she didn't seem to have any pain. She prescribed muscle relaxants and keeping her in a kennel for a month. I reluctantly agreed, though she was a rescue, and couldn't handle small spaces. Just a day or so into the muscle relaxants, her back end went out entirely.
I took her off the muscle relaxants and never went back. I've since learned that there is an easy genetic test for Degenerative Myelopathy available through the mail. I also went to another vet in Lincoln who sent me to a wonderful specialist in Kansas City who got down on the floor with her and observed her walking around. (See the review for Blue Pearl).
Between all these, we found that it was DM. She'll need a wheelchair, but she won't have pain or incontinence, and it likely will not kill her. A month in a kennel probably would have. I may go back to Nebraska Animal Medical Center for the hydrotherapy, but not for any other reason. Perhaps you'll have a better experience.
