We live on a small farm in Clintondale, NY, in the Hudson Valley's apple country. We have been breeding CFA registered Abys since 1996. If your are in our area call and schedule a visit (Contact Us), we open our home to all who are interested in owning an Aby kitten. We and one of our friends home raise CFA registered Abyssinian cats. Currently besides ourselves our friend Corey (who is a vet tech) cares for two of our breeding females, Talula and Tori.
While the kittens that are raised by us always remain in our home, the kittens that are raised by Corey come to us when they are 10 weeks old, two weeks before they are offered to their new homes.

Services
We added a elevated catio to our home a few months ago. It is elevated so our Abys have some isolation from ground insects and stray dogs. The catio has three section. After entering through a pet door inserted into the window of our house there is a small weatherproof sun room. From this room there is a short enclosed walkway which leads into a airy cage that contains two hammocks.
The topics covered below, in our opinion, are important considerations for those who are seeking to acquire an Abyssinian as a pet. The information provided is a combination of acquired knowledge, personal experience, and opinion. Those seeking information about Abyssinians should not rely on a single source for information but should instead solicit information from many sources especially their veterinarian.
Since our original outbreak in early 2006 we have assisted hundreds of pet owners and cat breeders plus a few dozen vets. I would like to report that Tritrichomonas foetus (TF) is well known to the aforementioned but the constant stream of inquiries I receive suggest otherwise. For those who have found this webpage in their search for information on TF please remember to go to Dr Gookin's webapge to learn more about TF and to download the Owner's Guide which has the most current information. This guide will hopefully answer all your questions about TF plus it will give you information on how to test and how to treat infected cats.
