I got my puppy just about a month ago and my main concern was his health and well being. He is the happiest and healthiest little boy and I'm so grateful to Tom's for the time, assurance, and assistance in ensuring my success as a puppy parent. Not only does their store offer great value, but you can tell that they truly care about their animals and the people who take them home. To the employees, here's a 15 week update on the mini aussiepoo, now known as Koda!

I needed some plants for my tank and the employees were super helpful and knowledgeable. While the plant selection wasn't huge they had an uncommon selection I don't see in box stores. The plants where also very healthy and I'm excited to see how they grow.

We obtained our Pomeranian Chloe at Tom's pet Outlet 19 years ago. She lived 17.5 years and we loved her more than words can express. Thank you Tom's Pet Outlet for bringing her into our lives.

The prices here are pretty steep considering it's the same brand items that you can get at Walmart and Chewy. Normally I would be willing to pay a little more to support a local business, but they have a reputation for selling puppy mill puppies. I would put my money somewhere else.

Bought two purebred malteses from Tom's about nine years ago. One unfortunately passed away. When I reached out to one of the owners and asked them if there was any chance the dog's bloodline was still active, they told me they hadn't gotten a dog from that person in a few years. Fair enough. I then asked them if they could contact the breeder directly and was told that "they get their dogs from a 3rd party so that the breeders don't have to deal with the public." Red flags started to go off in my head and I thanked the owner and wrote a letter directly to the breeder.

The breeder told me the police had taken away all her dogs because she was breeding them unethically. These dogs are puppy mill dogs that are bought from a 3rd party so that Tom's can play dumb when the puppy mill question comes up. I also had genetic testing on my other dog a few months ago. He was sold to us as a purebred maltese. He is a mutt. 60% coton, 40% poodle. Zero percent maltese.

When I contacted Tom's about it, they did nothing. Not even an apology. Please do not do business with these people. Here's some pictures of my "purebred" maltese. He's 14 pounds and skinny for his frame. Breed standard is a maximum of 8.5 pounds. There is also a picture of him next to a breed standard maltese. Beware that what you are buying is not even close to what you are getting.

I would give this 0 stars if I could. Just went to Tom's Pet Outlet to possibly purchase a Bullibea puppy. My husband asked a man working there if we could play with the puppy. He rolled his eyes, sighed, and said "we don't let people play with them." While my husband was walking back toward me, I noticed another store employee lifting the bullibea out of their holding area so another customer could play with her. So.

I guess they do allow people to see them. I guess we weren't the right people? My husband again approached the original man who looked visibly annoyed. He said ". do you want a tour?" (What?) My husband said: "we wanted to play with that dog that someone else is playing with now." The man said: "we only let people play with them if they want to buy them." Again, the man looked visibly angry.

So we left.?! Um?! Why would we come to a place that sells dogs if we didn't want to buy one. Also, how would you know what we wanted. You never asked. Only looked angry and upset that we were even in the store.? Horrible place. Never ever going back.

Sick, overpriced dogs from cruel puppy mills. Never buy while thousands die in shelters!

My husband and I have gotten a couple of pets from here (puppy and kitten) and go back from time to time to look at the puppies. Not sure if this is just a COVID thing, but all the pets except for the fish are roped off. They ask if you're interested in buying before letting you look at them and then it's just a fast walkthrough. I went when there weren't any other customers and counted four staff members but they still seemed put out when I asked to look at the puppies. Not really a fun experience anymore and wouldn't recommend.

After years of taking my dog to this place for a nail trim (without incident) and shopping there they decide to practically double the price of a nail trim. Reason - to get rid of customers asking for that service or overcharge those that want it. Not sure who is running that place but that is one of the dumbest business decisions I've ever heard. Needles to say, I'll spend my money somewhere that good customers are appreciated. I don't recommend this business.

I was very cautious about buying a puppy at tom's pet outlet after doing research and reading these reviews. However, our experience here was great. The employees were very professional and knowledgeable about all the animals they sold. Specifically, for the puppies, they only have a very limited amount they hold and sell per week so the area that the puppies stay are never filled with puppies and are kept very clean.

Our cavachon came with 0 parasites, but did have a minor ear infection which the vet told us was not surprising because cavachons are very susceptible to ear infections due to their long ears. Tom's even refunded us the price of both the ear cleaning and the antibiotics for our puppy. We were very satisfied with this experience and will be coming back!

Tom's is my go to spot to get my dog, cat, and bunnies nails clipped. The staff is always happy to see me and Melissa always lets me know if there's any new bunnies in. They always handle my animals with care and I recommend them to anyone in need of getting your fussy animals nails clipped.

Beware! They sold me a sick puppy! He's one year old and has a condition he was born with, his poor little hind legs have a condition, luxitating pattella. He's had allot of issues since we took him home. Breaks my heart to see him not a healthy happy puppy! Please anyone in Montgomery County PA! DO Not buy here! They abuse the poor animals they have! It's disturbing! It needs to be shut down! They sell puppy mill pups! My little guy is not doing good at all!do not buy a puppy or anything at Toms Pet Outlet!

We had a great first experience here. The customer service is really great. Very helpful and friendly staff and shout out to Melissa for educating us about the animals. We bought home 2 guinea pigs who are doing well. This place had kittens, puppies, snakes, bearded dragons, guinea pigs, geckos. It was just a fun experience overall!

Return policy for fish is 24 hours, and if the fish dies and they are closed don't bother trying to bring it in for a refund the following day because they won't refund it. Prices are on the expensive side. I've heard several different prices for kittens so I guess it depends. Staff is friendly but I'd still rather go elsewhere

We learned after receiving the "breeder paperwork" that the puppy we purchased from Tom's is likely from a puppy mill given the puppy's origin and breeder in the Lancaster area. The breeder of this puppy was charged for dog neglect in the past. Shame on us for not researching the source of Tom's puppies beforehand. Remember all puppies are cute - do your research before supporting this business!

My husband and I stopped in here last weekend. I must say, compared to many other pet places in the area, this seems to be a top notch facility. The staff was super friendly and willing to help, all of the animal enclosures (including the reptiles, fish, rodents, and birds) were clean and well-kept, and the puppies all looked happy and healthy. I'm usually not a fan of pet stores because of the POSSIBILITY of them sourcing their dogs from puppy mills (I'm aware that pet store doesn't automatically equal puppy mill), but we decided to give this one a chance and were pleasantly surprised with the condition of everything. Obviously, compared to a rescue, the prices are going to be pretty steep here. It's still not a bad option though and I recommend checking it out.

They also seem to have a very decent stock of food/supplies, though I can't say how varied it was since I didn't venture into that section of the store for very long.

Review 2 attempt because yelp removed my 1st one which was here for months because it was not based on my experience ( assumption made my yelp likely due to a complaint from the owner of this disgraceful business). So here goes a review based on MY personal experience. This place sells puppy mill dogs for profit from Lancaster area. So if you support puppy mills and exploitation of animals, go ahead and shop here. Let's see how long this review lasts.

I'm very experienced with pets of all types and have been a customer of many individual Petco and PetSmart locations, as well as independent pet stores and shelters/rescues. A friend was looking to get a very specific breed and gender of hamster from a pet store, and I began researching where to find one. I wasn't having any luck until I called Tom's.

My initial phone contact at Tom's was with Dorothy. I also spoke on the phone with, and later met, Tom the owner, Jake the assistant manager, and Brooke. Every member of the staff I dealt with was very professional and helpful, and returned calls promptly. I found that they each displayed genuine caring for pets of all types as well as excellent customer service skills.

With everything arranged, we visited Tom's to pick up the hamster and everything went seamlessly. I was very happy with how neat and clean the store was. They carry quite a good variety of pet food and supplies. The prices of both the hamster and a package of bedding for her was right in line with any of the chain stores. I found all the pets to be housed in conditions that easily met or exceeded what I've seen at the other pet stores/shelters/rescues that I've visited. Of particular note was the attentiveness to the animals' habitat cleanliness that the employees displayed. I will definitely be back.

I was there a few months ago and it seemed like someone was trying to leave business cards for pet sitting or training. The manager/owner whoever was giving her the 5th degree about everything. It seemed a little tense from my standpoint but the manager/owner seemed nasty. Not sure what the rest of the convo was about but the customer went all around the store and seemed to be interested in buying fish.

I assume she did. Then she goes over to the puppies and she seemed very happy playing with them. The manager went over to her and PUSHED her out of the way when the dogs were starting to bark at each other. I never experienced something so rude. I was so upset seeing that--I never went back again.

We bought a bichon puppy from Tom's last November. From the minute we brought him home he showed signs of being abused. His feet pads were so matted and full of fecal mater it was painful for him to walk, his ears were infected and he had kennel cough, which he spread to my other two dogs who had been vaccinate. The vet advised there were different strains a kennel cough which are brough from other states; this was most likely what he had and the reason it spread to our other dogs.

He is also very skittish and very afraid of men. I called Tom's after we had him at the vet and the groomer to get him cleaned up; the women on the phone told me the reason for all of his issues was he was "one of the older dogs there" and it's hard to maintain all of them. Do you think maybe they shouldn't have as many puppies there if they can't care for them all? Don't get me wrong I adore our sweet puppy and wouldn't part with him for anything, but after our experience I would never buy from a pet store especially Tom's ever again.

My husband and I bought a full breed German shepherd this past Saturday. The entire staff was so helpful and just a general pleasure to work with. They were knowledgable about the puppy and overhearing them talk about the others they seemed to genuinely care about them. All the paperwork for our new fur baby is in order and he is adjusting beautifully with his older brothers and sister (cats). He's everything to be expected from a two month old active shepherd!
