On Saturday we went to get a kitty, the lady who gave us the tour showed 3 kitty but didn't let me take the one we wanted it, she pushed us to get the cat she wants my husband and I are very upset we paid $200 for her to choose? I told her which one I wanted and her answer was I had to re do the paperwork again and pushing us to go with the car we didn't like. it was very disappointing because we saw the one it call our attention but she was telling us from the beginning of the kitty was shy and it was better the one we didn't even look. so it's the last time I'll go to that place paid for this lady to choose it's not ok. plus it's the 2nd time writing this I guess the delete my comment

In June 2019 we lost our second to last Jack Russel, Georgie. She was a rescue and in the past year and a half we lost 2 others, also rescues who were all seniors about the same age. Winifred 14 years old had never been without a canine companion. After Georgie died Winnie was despondent, howling and crying when we left the house. Having heard about the 200 Parson Jack Russel dogs rescued from Hunterdon County we decided once again to open our hearts and home to an animal in need.
The volunteers at St Hubert were so helpful in doing their best to see that (Roy) now Simon was a good fit. I can't not begin to tell you what a heartwarming experience it's been welcoming Simon into our family. Considering what his early years were like his personality is remarkable a happy. He is a smart, loving dog if ever there was one! He's learned his name, how to climb stairs, eat a treat and absolutely loves cheese.
While he doesn't bark at all he will wimpier. He uses the doggie door all day long and is fanatical with tennis balls. He has a huge fenced in yard and loves being outside even in the cold and rain! Yes, it's been a work in progress and rescuing is not for the faint of heart. But everyday we fall more in love with him. Thank you St Hubert's and all those who support such a worthwhile organization. PS: I'd be happy to post before and after photos!

My initial impression of this shelter was very positive. My daughter and I took interest in a special needs cat and were allowed to visit the cat, ask questions, and even have a trial adoption. Given this was a special needs case, I asked questions about his care so I could follow through with his plan. I was given a card with a number that I was told to call if there were any issues.
I called, left a message, and waited for a return call about his medical needs that NEVER came. I called the shelter directly to find out about the vet that originally treated him so I could continue care with the vet familiar with his case, they would not give me a name nor did they offer for me to bring the cat to see their vet. I was not asking for free services, but assistance in ensuring that he continued treatment with the same professional.
So now, this special needs case that I took in on the confidence that this rescue operation was going to be helpful in meeting his needs and follow through with his care is extremely disappointing. Once the papers are signed and the money is paid, there is no interest in offering any further support. Update: Since this was posted the main campus of St. Hubert's in Madison has been of great assistance in getting the care and support needed for the cat we adopted to become healthy again. I appreciate the professionalism and concern shown by the Madison staff and our cat is doing well.
