The goal of obedience training is to create a common language between dog and master so that both species can live together in harmony. At Top Dog Obedience School, we open the lines of communication for over 1200 students and their pets each year. We teach you to train your dog so that the human-canine bond deepens, and problem dogs become a pleasure. Top Dog training techniques are simple and straightforward. Dogs are first shown how to respond properly to each of the basic commands without the use of force.
Services
Puppy Kindergarten: For puppies eight weeks to five months of age. Don't believe the old cliche which advises waiting until your dog is six months or a year old before starting to train him! Doing so will only lead to a young adult dog with unstructured behavior and many problems which could have been avoided.
Attention and Handling: This class is the foundation for the competition obedience program at Top Dog. All students planning to show their dogs for obedience titles must start here. A six-week course on attention will be presented along with distance attention and attention games. Part of the class each night will be spent without the dog, working on handling and footwork (so please bring a crate or plan to leave your dog in the car for the last 15 minutes of class each week).Competition Puppy Class: This class is for handlers with prior competition experience.
Learn how to get the fundamentals right, so that you can build on success! Take your training to the next level by proofing and polishing your Open and Utility exercises without losing motivation! No accommodations will be made for dogs who are not trained to this level. If your dog isn't ready for this level yet, come as an auditor and learn what you'll need to know so you can be a step ahead! Learn how to teach your dog the Open and Utility exercises for a solid understanding and confident performance.

Currently in Beginner obedience and I would not recommend it. Trainer asked me to send email regarding issues and still hasn't replied (3 weeks). So many dogs in class (about 12), difficult to hear instruction. Class starts about 10 minutes late every week and since there are 3 classes back to back there's no chance to discuss anything with trainer. Chaotic. Will finish out this session and then try Petra Dog Center down the road. I sent Petra an email and got a very nice response in about an hour (on a Saturday).

An awful experience here. Advice: do not use this trainer. I took my shelter puppy here and he was called a BULLY dog and I was told he is reactive.( after the very first lesson!) Why would I go for training? So my rescue dog will learn to listen and. So he could learn to be good with other dogs! Such a negative experience! Such negative people! The classes are too big and although they SAY there are 2 trainers.only 1 is with the dogs. Classes NEVER start on time ( 10 to 15 minutes late! With so many good trainers.stay far away from this one! My trainer now adores my dog and says only positive things! Would give this a ZERO rating!
