Did you know that accreditation is required for human hospitals, but voluntary for animal hospitals? AAHA was founded in 1933 and is the only association in North America that provides accreditation to companion animal hospitals. To be accredited by AAHA, our hospital must demonstrate an exceptional level of medical care and client service, and be measured against the most rigorous standards in the veterinary industry. Only 15% of animal hospitals in the United States and Canada are AAHA accredited, and we are one of them!
To provide an excellent standard of care, meeting or exceeding the expectations of our clientele. To provide excellent veterinary services, information, education, options, alternatives, and practical solutions to our clientele that will allow them to take care of their animal companions in the best suitable way.
We recommend that all pets be given wellness exams at least twice a year. This exam includes a thorough physical examination in which eyes, ears, nose, throat, skin and coat, heart auscultation, and oral exam to detect gingivitis and dental plaque. This helps to detect any underlying or silent conditions that can be cured early on and the pet is spared the pain and agony.

I took my cat there yesterday. I had an appointment for 3:30 pm. We had to wait in the car (it was 94 degrees outside). Waited 15 minutes for them to bring paperwork to be filled out because we were new clients. After picking up the paperwork and my cat we waited an additional 1 1/2 hours in the hot car. I finally called them and asked if the vet has seen the cat yet. They told me not yet. At that point I just told them to bring me my cat. I will never use their services or recommend anyone else to go there.

Being that this was my first visit, it was nothing less than exceptional, professional, friendly, smooth and easy going. Dr. Joshi and his medical staff is so kind and thoughtful in the process of taking care of my cats UTI, giving me the options to give her the medications she needs. Thank you Tiffany, who helped me with my paperwork and front desk service.
Very sweet and friendly. Jada and Noel who helped with assisting my cats samples to the lab. I even witnessed the staff taking care of the team when dr. is done for the day, reassurance that everyone is on top of their game. Such a wonderful first experience from start to finish. Thank you kindly for such a wonderful first visit. I will definitely be a long term fur mama client. :

Dr Joshi is truly one of a kind. No matter the issue, he will do all he can to treat your pets. My 3 month old beautiful Pug puppy was given a 2%chance of survival from kidney failure, but Dr Joshi didnt give up. Treated my puppy for two weeks. Daily blood work, all possible treatments and then put him in Oxygen therapy after researching ways to help my puppy.
With Oxygen therapy the kidneys began to heal. Faest forward 13 years later, same pug had a bladder full of stones. Horrible to watch how he suffered. Dr Joshi removed the stones, cleaned and removed some bad teeth, and removed a cancerous tumor. Since the pug was at high-risk of a throat collapse, giving him anesthesia was very risky.once again my pug was at death's door and Dr Joshi brought him back. Pug is doing wonderful.
My cat Gary, now 15 years old, had a major infection in his gums. Again, Dr Joshi agreed to try surgery. Gary had to be on life support. Gary struggled to wake up after anesthesia given his age and frail condition. He was a 20 lb cat and is now a 10 lb cat because of the infection. He simply stopped eating for several weeks. But Dr Joshi didnt give up and brought him back to life. Dr Joshi brings them back from the dead!
Thanks to him never giving up, my two beautiful pets are alive and well today. Thank you Dr Joshi for all that you do and for caring so much for helpless animals. Keep it up! They need you!

I have been with Clark Animal Hospital for a while. My first Golden Retriever "Luna". They took very good care of her and always willing to do.more. After she passed there was no need to us to go back. After so long we got two new Golden Retrievers Nala and Sofia. We are proud and most of all grateful that we got this TEAM Clark Animal Hospital to help us with our new addition to our family. Also they always send reminders so you never forget an appointment. Thank you so much.

I needed to bring my dog to a local pet and decided yo go to Clark Animal Hospital. The doctors were always be try thorough and patient. Doctor reports were always detailed. The wait is an issue. With an appointment, expect to be there for at least 1.5-2 hours. The technicians don't always seem to know the details and are usually just handing off meds and the pet. I've never seen this before. Staff is always polite, professional, and friendly.

Absolutely biggest ripoff! Paid 650.00 for my pet to be groomed my dog is older and needs to be sedated Had to get bloodwork done before and other tests done Had to wait over an hour and a half for first appointment They open at 8 had to wait in parking lot until they got there Would not take Yelp coupon Rahway Animal Hospital does not require pre testing unfortunately they no longer do grooming I would NEVER recommend this place 350 for tests and 300 for sedation and grooming I don't know how these people sleep at night I paid less for my first car

First visit went great but very expensive. Second visit for vaccination only was scheduled for 12pm; however, I was made to wait for 1.5 hours with my puppy in the car. My initial appointment request was for 1pm, but I was only able to get a 12pm appointment. Then, I was made to wait for 1.5 hours. I will not be coming to this vet again. Additionally, they had food delivered an hour after my appointment time and told me that I had to wait for space to open up.
No animals left the facility before my puppy was seen, so there was space available. Only go to this vet if you don't mind waiting for more than an hour after your appointment time.

Clark animal hospital is excellent to their patients. Ive been bringing my boy Bruce here since I got him. Hes has been seen regularly and they treat us magnificent. He loves coming here because he is spoiled with attention and treats. Very professional and kind, answer all my concerns and pleasantly professional. Glad I picked them, great choice. Highly recommend.

If you want to get the proper care for your pet, REFRAIN from coming to this Animal Hospital. My 8 month old Boston Terrier was having bad stomach issues from eating a wild mushroom, which I expressed to them and told them that I wanted to get a stool sample done. After paying them $366, they told me they were unable to perform a test on the stool sample I brought for whatever reason. Unfortunately, I failed to question them on why they didn't perform the stool sample so it's still unclear as to why. Instead, they sent me home with 5 different antibiotics to "help" my puppy which seemed to have only worsen the situation considering he kept puking/having diarrhea.
They are incompetent, and it's very clear they're more interested in marketing their antibiotics to get money out of patients versus actually helping the animals. This place sucks, and very clear that they just take advantage of young people like myself when they are first time pet owners.

I made an appointment to bring my dog for his three-year rabies update vaccination. I showed up and called to let them know I was there and was told they would call me shortly when the dog could come inside to see a vet. I waited, 10, 20, 30, 40, then after 50 minutes I called to remind them that I was still in the car waiting. I was told it would be a little while longer.
I told them I was not waiting. Overbooking people and then expecting them to just sit and wait in the car is not not only bad customer service, it's also unprofessional. I will not be going back to Clark Animal Hopsital.

I've been bringing both my dogs here for the last 2 years. Usually not a bad experience. My dogs get what they need and usually feel better after their visit. But! The bills from this place are heart breaking. Way too expensive. And because of COVID they no longer are accepting coupons like before. If not for the big bills I would have given more stars

Extremely disappointed in the behavior of the front desk at this facility. First of all don't make an appointment online, because it created the utmost chaos. I didn't make a big deal because due to the times some places aren't up to speed with technology. I arrived at my appointment and opened the door and someone yells at me you need to wait in your car!
It would have been nice if they mentioned it during confirmation. So I close the door and called to let them know my dog has arrived for his appointment. Front desk seemed to not be able to find his appointment as they were asking the same questions as when I first spoke with someone earlier in the week. They said they would send out someone with paperwork. 20 minutes later I called again and said just checking if you forgot me I've been here for 20 minutes.
The woman said someone will be right out we are doing our best. And I said could you let me know how long it will be and she didn't let me finish my sentence and yelled mam we will bring you the paperwork when we can and hung up on me. Unbelievably unprofessional and at that moment I felt there is no way anyone from this facility will get near my dog without my presence! I left. Unreal.

Please be cautious coming here. They entice you with a complimentary evaluation. They asked us for $250 for a bloodwork and $400 to X-ray one area. These prices are triple what we normally pay, and when asked why they were so high the doctor told us why. He said it had something to do with their status, and that's why the prices are higher. Also they wanted to put my dog on a round of strong antibiotics for unknown stool bleeding, without running any tests prior to administering antibiotics.
I thought this was very poor diagnostics, and decided to take my pet back to our usual vet who recommended more appropriate logical testing. Not blindly prescribing antibiotics with no known infection so my dog could build resistance to them and have unnecessary stomach upset. Not the solution to blood in stool without any testing. Be careful here!

Dr. Joshi and the whole team is great. I had a ton of issues with my cats breeders, and he make sure she had all of her necessary shots and paperwork. In addition she is an emotional support animal and needed airplane paperwork done. After the first visit the airline denied the paperwork and Dr. Joshi and his team immediately accommodated me and my cat to make sure that she would be able to fly on time.
They even called and left a voicemail a week later to make sure she was set to jet! In an industry filled with corporate takeovers, it is great to have a local place filled with knowledgeable and friendly people. Could not ask for more!

The staff and physicians at CAH are excellent! I've moved out of town but I still bring my furbaby here. I do not trust anyone else to care for my dog. The doctors are extremely thorough they do not try to oversell you on pet services or medicationsas they do not work on commission. They are genuinely concerned about the health of my dog. They also offer boarding. I've had one disastrous experience with a 'luxury' pets hotel, my dog was bleeding and sick when I picked him up. Since then, I've only boarded Braxton at CAH and everytime I pick him up he's wagging his tail and giving the staff kisses as he leaves!

I went this past Saturday for my Yorkie puppy's first shots. The place smelled great and was all very clean. Also, the staff was kind and helpful. Dr. Heather was great. She recommended what most vets recommend without that judgmental tone I have seen at other vets. I am going to get my pup neutered this week and I feel everything will go smooth.

This review is for the grooming only, as I've always had a good experience with the vet until now. I brought my dog yesterday morning (1/26/19) to get groomed. I didn't notice his ear had been CHOPPED. His flesh was CUT. I didn't notice until I got home. It had a bit of purple on it which means he was most likely bleeding and they treated it.
Although I am very mad about the cutting, I understand 100% that a dog can move or flinch and something like this can easily happen. What I am royally pissed about is that NO ONE TOLD ME ABOUT IT when I picked him up. I found out when I got home. I find this extremely unprofessional. If you hurt someone's dog you should make it known to the owner.

I have only good things to say about this place and the whole staff. Everybody is very nice to us and very professional. The place is not cheap, but not overpriced like other people say it. Also you get a very quality and personalized health care for your loved one. Tanya always makes us visit fun. Thank you!

This vet is extraordinarily overpriced. For the best example, I once brought my cat in because he was lethargic -- they brought me out an $800.00 bill (this is not an exaggeration). I kindly suggested that perhaps we give him fluids before breaking the bank, and voila -- fluids worked. Cat was fine. Still $200.00, but whatever. Side note: to stick it to them in this situation, my mom asked if we could also have a quote for putting him to SLEEP, and they actually brought us the bill.to put him to sleep.
They sure called our bluff there. An otherwise healthy cat.and a bill for putting him down. Thank god for IV fluids. My oldest is now 18 years old, and so we take him for checks more often (every 6 mos instead of a year). The bill for a half year check up can be up to $600.00. I brought him to Iselin for the exact same check up. They spent way more time discussing my cat with me, and the bill was $250.00.
All of this being said, two stars because Dr. Joshi is INCREDIBLE, funny, very attentive, and a damn good doctor. If only the prices weren't so horribly out of their league, I would still be going here. Sadly, there are other good doctors in the area who aren't going to charge me a million dollars every time I walk in the door.
