Patrice seemed to genuinely cares and they did have a lot of room to run. It was the first time I had to leave him with a stranger, and I liked the idea of him not having to stay in a kennel. She sent me many videos of him having fun. But, I do not recommend this because she claims to interview the dogs to see if they get along with the other dogs that she adopted and they were growling at my dog.

She did not ask me anything about Rabies shots during the interview. She sent us a paper days later to fill out asking questions that anyone could have easily lied about. These dogs were extremely dirty. And, I could tell many of the dogs had fleas. My house got extremely infested with fleas. I gave her a three because putting my dog there was my fault.

I was desperate because I waited until the last minute and she was extremely sweet! So, basically make sure her dogs react well to your dog during the interview. I'm also pretty sure he got bit because he started crying when I brushed him. When he got home.

We learned of Barkingham Palace from our holistic vet. Over the past two years, our part Beagle rescue dog has spent more than 150 days there under the loving care of Patrice, who treats each dog as if it were her own. We have always been extremely pleased with the level of professional care that our pet gets. We love seeing her playing with the other dogs in such a pleasant environment.

Our dog comes home clean, healthy, and happy, and we've never had a negative experience. We've suggested Barkingham to friends who have been similarly satisfied, and we will continue to recommend it to anyone seeking a safe place to board his/her dog.

Our dog, Smokey had a great experience at Barkingham. Patrice knows how to handle dogs, as well as loves dogs. We have taken Smokey there several times, and he has enjoyed every time.

My dog was been boarding here for 5 years and over 80 days a year. Always enjoys the "open" environment. She has never come home with fleas but is certainly tired beyond all belief and she sleeps for days before fully recovering. Patrice is extremely knowledgeable of dogs and their behavior. It never ceases to amaze me what she observes in dog behavior as I spend time talking with her when I drop off and pick up.

I has been using Barkingham Palace for my golden retrievers for over 10 years now, and have always been very pleased. Patrice is always very attentive and concerned for my dogs. In the past, I have needed her to care for very ill older dogs, dogs with thunder phobia, and dogs with separation anxiety. I am always very reassured that she will look after them, no matter what.

She is also expert at pack behavior in dogs and gives lots of great advice in caring for them at home as well. I plan to continue to use Buckingham whenever I need a place to board my dogs, even though I live an hour away, it's worth it to me!

Patrice is one of the most gifted, dedicated professional dog service providers I've ever met. We have left our dog, Farley, with her many times over the last four years and have always been delighted with every aspect of his care. Patrice is truly remarkable. Farley is a rescue dog and developed some separation anxiety -- along with a few personality quirks. Patrice takes all this in stride, providing such a welcoming, stimulating environment that Farley's ears perk up as we get closer and he quite happily jumps out of the car to greet Patrice, tail wagging.

Somehow she manages to keep up 45 dogs (usually not nearly that many) in her house without a kennel in sight -- or a single snarl or squabble. They choose their own places to sleep -- several on Patrice's own bed -- and either hang out in the house or romp with new and old doggy friends in the spacious, fenced back and front play areas. As a friend put it, going to Patrice's is like going to doggy summer camp. A great place to board your dog, especially for longer stays.

I like the idea that the dogs here are kept "free-range." I trust that the owner Patrice does her best to keep them safe and fed well (even spoiled in this regard) and that the property is clean. But do consider the fact before boarding here that the majority of dogs are mid to large-sized, and Patrice does not have a helper for the 20 -30 dogs there ( several are her own).

I believe that my smallish dog was in a fight at some point since she came back with a couple of deep scabs. But the overriding factor in not endorsing this business is that when I was out of town viewing the live feed video, I witnessed Patrice petting the larger dogs which came to her as she sat on the sofa -- but pulled in her hands when my dog approached Patrice for "her turn" at being petted.

This made me and the kids awfully sad. The dogs circled her repeatedly in this fashion, and again and again my dog was ignored. We were incredulous. I can only surmise that Patrice is not a "small dog person."

My dog Magnus loves going to see Patrice and her pack. If I ask him if he wants to go see her he gets really excited and runs to the door. Patrice feeds him high quality food and is always giving me extra treats to take home for him. She is kind and knowledgeable and loves what she does. If you ever have any doubts watch the doggie cam!

I have left my dog at Barkingham Palace many times and have been incredibly impressed with the level of care Ms. Patrice provides to the dogs. I am in complete disagreement about the previous review that stated that she is not "a small dog person." I have never met a woman like Patrice before, she is dedicated to ALL of the dogs residing and visiting her home.

The first time I dropped "Brick" off at Barkingham Palace, I knew that it would be the only place my dog would stay while my family was away. Ms. Patrice has dogs large and small and they all get along, it was truly an interesting and unique thing to see. I know that when my dog stays or goes for a "play date" he will be cared for, fed, protected and loved in general. I strongly advise that you go and visit Barkingham Palace. I know that you will be as impressed as I was the first time that I went.
