Dogs don't come knowing human language. We train the person to recognize the signs the dog is giving, and help the owner train the dog to respond appropriately to human signs and language. We use reward-based training. The dog offers a behavior, the behavior is recognized with an auditory marker, and this is followed with a reward.
Liz Langham, BS, MS, is a member of The Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT.com). She is the owner of Tree Frog Farm Dog Training and Agility, a business located in North Yarmouth, Maine. She successfully helps people understand their dogs behaviors through guidance, training, and even some moral support.
The goal of the Canine Good Citizen Class is to have everyone take and pass the Canine Good Citizen (CGC) test at the last class. The CGC is a huge accomplishment to reach in your dog training journey. The test items reflect you and your dog's ability to work as a team and as good members of the community.
In addition to in-person training, Tree Frog Farm is offering distance learning through on-line technology: $100/hr. If you miss a lesson without 24-hour notice, you will be charged 50% of your lesson fee. If you miss two lessons without 24-hour notice, you will be charged 100% of your lesson fee. If you miss three lessons without 24-hour notice, we'll be happy to refer you elsewhere.

I am long overdue in writing this review, but we took our then-puppy to a series of obedience classes at Tree Frog Farm in 2014 and were very pleased with the results. Liz was a pleasure to work with and our dog absolutely loved being here! The results of the training have stuck with our dog to this day, and she is a much better-behaved canine as a result.

My dog and I have both really enjoyed Liz's Family Dog class. We've learned a ton and have both gained a lot of confidence over the last 6 weeks. Liz has a great understanding of both dogs and humans and helps bridge the communication gaps between species, while offering productive feedback and encouragement. Would recommend to anyone looking to improve their relationship with their dog.

Love this place! Liz is a great trainer! Our dog has learned so much in the past 6 weeks, and we have learned so much about him- what motivates him, how to communicate with him better, and we learned that he enjoys agility! We will definitely be enrolling him in an agility class after he's neutered! Thank you so much Liz!

My rescue dog is beyond skittish and shy so we enrolled in Liz's class Canine Confidence which was perfect for this guy! Liz was awesome and even let us repeat the class a few times for 1/2 price as my dog was progressing at his own slow rate to put it lightly! We would still be taking it if my schedule hadn't changed at work. Great way to safely socialize a shy/fearfearful dogs at a lovely place. Liz is very skilled with fearful dogs and is gifted with her way of dealing with them.
We really benefited greatly from the class(es) and met people who have the same problems with their dogs which is priceless emotionally! Oh my sister also takes her dog to here for Agility and loves it. She has had fun in the class taught by Laurie.

Horrible Place! The owner of the facility (Liz Langham) dog attacked my dog! My dog was leaving a class and leash while her dog was off leash. Her dog attacks my dog who is fearful of other dogs in the first place. I asked for a refund of my classes but she denied. I will never go back there or recommend her to anyone. I am a Veterinary Technician at a local vet and I know they wont recommend her anymore either.
She knowingly keeps an aggressive dog on her property off leash. Dont put your dogs life in danger. She was also 20 minutes late to our first class as well as spent several classes just showing us tricks her dog can do. Not worth it at all!
