Over the years we have owned many cats and currently have three fuzzy ones we love and consider members of our family. Our facility is located on the second floor of the barn that was originally built attached to our home in 1987. We first spent several months doing research, looking at dozens of facilities on line, from all over the world. Then we designed our own 1100 square foot facility from the walls in, especially for cats. In October of 2003 we took in our first boarder and changed our lives forever.
Services
Before your cat arrives, the bed, carpets, and the entire inside of the kennel are all thoroughly cleaned with a disinfectant and deodorizer. There are twelve operable windows that provide fresh, natural ventilation and a 30 whole house fan that adds forced ventilation when needed in wintertime. Shown here is an 11" x 11" square opening that enables cats to "pass thru" and visit as they please. It is ideal for three cats, or two cats that may or may not always get along.
You will have uninterrupted time when no other customers and cats will be coming or going. A 50% deposit is required when the total boarding fee of your first visit exceeds $300.00. You must send a deposit check for 50% within one week for us to continue to hold the reservation. There is no charge for a cancelled reservation.
No, cats absolutely never commingle! This prevents the opportunity of injury from fights. Each cat, or family of cats, has their own time every day for exercise and playtime outside their individual kennel. No commingling also eliminates the possibility of spreading disease by the exchange of saliva or urine, as they do not have access to each other's food bowls, water bowls, or litter boxes.

I had a great experience here boarding my two cats for the first time. She made me feel very comfortable even with covid and not being able to go in and see the place I was able to call and check on them, and I felt like they were in great hands. She was very kind and caring and that was so helpful as my cats are like my children so I appreciated her very much. My cats came back relaxed and happy. I would recommend her and will definitely bring my cats back in the future.

Claire took such good care of our furbaby. She had come well recommended from others on facebook and I was not disappointed. I felt like Cheddar was in good hands. She's super friendly and gives a great report on how your cat did during their stay. She was even attentive enough for us to bring up some questions for our next vet appointment. We'll definitely come back if we ever get another vacation.

If you read nothing else, know that I was a very pleased first time cat boarder. This was the first time I have ever boarded a cat, so needless to say I was very nervous. Kai is a 6 month old ball of energy and I did not want him home alone for the 10 days I was out of the country. Unfortunately, I was not able to drop him off due to timing so I was unable to see the facility or meet Claire prior to drop off.
Before Kai was dropped off I talked to Claire over the telephone and she asked all the right questions and even called the vet herself to get all of his information which I greatly appreciated. When it did come time for me to pick him up I finally saw the facility. It was clean, and there seemed to be a lot of toys. I really appreciated that each cat had it's own personal play time as to not cross germs, or cause territorial issues. Claire knew exactly what kind of toys Kai liked to play with and seemed very genuine and kind.
She walked me out to the car and buckled Kai's carrier in for me. It was clear that she is someone who will take great care of your loved cats. You may be able to find a cheaper service, but even as a struggling student I would pay to send my kitty Kai there anytime I need to. The service, care, and secure feeling is worth every penny to make sure your kitty is given the upmost care.

Our cats Lilly and Nina stayed with Claire for a few weeks while we relocated into our new city and jobs. At Happy Cats they received exceptional care.
