As well as training clients and their dogs, I've spent 30 Years training my own dogs. Participating in Obedience, Agility, Tracking, Rally Obedience and Schutzhund. 30 Years teaching 4-H Obedience classes. My 4-H students participate and earn placements in county and state level 4-H and AKC Dog Shows.
Teach your puppy manners. Emphasis on socializing, come, sit, down and house breaking. There's also a weekly discussion on a variety of topics. This is of particular interest to people who have never before owned a dog or puppy. Class is taught by Kath Cook, an AKC Certified Canine Good Citizen Evaluator.
Blue Ribbon Dog Training Academy is located on 16.5 acres, providing spacious tracking grounds, plentiful parking as well as a large, level Schutzhund field. The training building has enough room for 1 regulation Utility size ring for indoor obedience or for a conformation ring and plenty of room for outdoor conformation ring(s).
Over the years of training my own dogs, teaching classes, and talking to dog owners on the phone. I hear the same stories over and over again. I ask the same questions. I offer advise. Each dog and situation may be slightly different, so this is generic advice I offer here. Please keep this in mind (this is my disclaimer).

I seen miss Cook and even though there isn't a lot that she can do with my shepherd she done a private course with me and Duke and she is amazing. She really seen how much he means to me and I just don't know how to thank her. I travel all the time and I have my son watch him while I'm away. But in the hour session I had I learned more about myself and Duke than I thought was possible. So I just want to say thank you so very much

Best trainer in the area in my opinion. Took my 4 month-old pit puppy and by the end of the 6 week session this dog is doing some amazing things. Soon to be AKC-STAR Certified through this trainer. I will continue my puppies training with the next class being more towards obedience. I definitely recommend Kath at Blue Ribbon Dog Training.
