Rudest people I've ever met honestly I would write at zero stars if I could. Very rude and condescending. I first walked in there I wasn't even greeted they just looked right past me almost like I wasn't. Zero customer service. I took my dog there not that long ago because I had a business trip and my dog smells like Urine afterwards.

I'm not one to write reviews unless I'm extremely irritated or have been treated poorly myself. I must say, I am very irritated with this kennel. I know someone personally who use to work here. They always showed up on time, were reliable, worked hard, and were trustworthy. They were everything you could want in an employee. The owner use to yell and call my friend names, but they still continued to show up.
When I found out through word of mouth by someone else who works there, that my friend was being talked badly about, by the owner himself, set me off real quick. They talked bad about my friend simply because they found a new job that paid more. I'm sorry, but that is just middle school behavior. I would never support this business. The fact the owner has no respect for his employees when they are working there, and then when they aren't working there, gossips. Not a place I want my dogs staying at.

Very disappointed with this kennel. We boarded our dogs and cats here in the past with no problems. This summer we boarded our dog, my daughter's dog and our cat for one week in August. All were fully vaccinated. We picked up our pets on a Sunday and by Sunday night our dog had a very deep loud cough. Our daughter's dog vomited and had diarrhea many times.
The vet diagnosed our dog with a bad case of kennel cough and our daughter's dog had a fever. Both were put on antibiotics. They're fine now but we won't be returning to Country Kennel in the future.

AGRESSIVE DOGS AT DAYCARE ATTACKED MY DOG-BEWARE I moved to Mount Airy in July 2020 and this place was a few minutes away. Reviews looked good and gave it a shot. Only took my 30 lb. hound mix 1 day a week here and there. First incident was my dog's ear was cut pretty good. Didn't require stiches and just chalked it up as him getting integrated in the pack there.
Second incident I picked my dog up one day and his inner leg was cut. I called Karen, the manager there, and she could not tell me what happened and she said it was possible that he got his leg caught in the fence. It didn't require stiches but it bled a good deal. The most recent incident on February 12 was really bad. Karen called me and said my dog got caught under the outdoor fence and hurt his leg.
I went there immediately and Karen met me in the lobby to explain what happened. She said the staff and the dogs were playing ball in the yard and Butler got caught under a part of the fence. He was hurt but he was walking. I want to point out my dog was nowhere to be seen. So I asked where was my dog and Karen told me he was with the veterinarian (there is a veterinarian who works out of a large RV which is parked out front.
She mainly deals with strays and feral animals). I asked Karen if he was fine why was he with the veterinarian. Karen then explained that when my dog got caught under the fence and he started to howl and wail, the dogs started to converge on my dog. She must have repeated this about three times and I could not understand what she was getting at and she was also making these gestures with her hands.
Mind you there was a young gal who worked in the daycare who was there when all this happened and she was just standing there silent. She had blood on one of her hands which was clearly visible. I then asked if my dog had been attacked. Karen still did not admit to that and kept on with saying how the dogs converged on my dog. I could now tell that Karen didn't want to say that that had actually happened and then I repeated myself and asked why was he was with the vet.
The young gal started talking and was telling me how one dog attacked my dog and when she saw that she went to go break it up. I got the name of the dog and I am sure it was the same dog responsible for biting my dogs ear when I first started taking him there. I asked to go see my dog and the young gal walked me to the vet's RV. I went in and my dog was in the crate and you could see blood all over his neck from a large wound behind his left ear.
His right ear was also punctured and his left leg which was caught in the fence also had a puncture. I started getting worried. The veterinarian said she would need to anesthetize him so she could stich up the neck, ear, leg and that I could come pick him up later that night. I left and then as I was leaving the owner, Ruth I believe her name is, came out to talk to me.
She did not know what happened and I repeated what Karen had told me and I told her my dog was attacked. She was apologetic and said they had a lot of cameras and she would find out what had happened. I never heard from Karen or the owner after that night again. I went home and picked up my dog around 830pm. The vet stitched him up and gave me some antibiotics and pain meds and asked me to come back the following Monday.
We then went back to get the stiches out and the tube they had to insert in the left leg for drainage purposes (picture attached of the wounds). The doctor at this clinic was a very nice lady. She works for Metro Ferals and that RV out in front of the establishment (Green Acres Pet Center is the name, not Country Kennels) is part of that organization. Thankfully I was not responsible for the vet bill.
All I can say is this establishment is irresponsible. They apparently have some sort of issue with their fencing that can cause injury and harm to the dogs. Second, it is clear they are allowing aggressive dogs into their daycare facility despite conducting temperament tests on new dogs. I would look elsewhere if you need daycare.

We have been bringing our rescue shephard, Dani, to the Country Kennel for puppy play time since we adopted her about nine months ago. The staff at the Country Kennel have been so patient with Dani as she learned how to socialize and have fun with other dogs. Dani LOVES to play with her pals at the Country Kennel and RUNS from our car to the. Country Kennel Daycare Door each time she goes.
She has gone from shy scared rescue to playful happy pup. Dani is still a work in progress but I believe that Karen and her team have been a HUGE part of her successful training, socialization and genuine evolution to a happy, healthy, family dog. I could not have done it without you Country Kennel! Thank you for all your support and help! I feel like you truly cared to help us give Dani a better life.

I have been very happy with Country Kennels, they have been helping me with my dogs and my rescues. They are attentive and caring to my pets, I have a protective breed dog and I am thankful for the CK, without them, I wouldn't be able to leave for holiday. Thank you to all for your service and a special thank you to Karen who always tries to help me even when I call late or need a special request! Great work!

We've been using Country Kennel Like forever. Never ever had a problem and they are very accommodating with us. I do the prepaid and let them know our travel ETA's and they've been great. I love working with Karen and have been ever since we started using Country Kennel. I love the fact that they have a play time and they'll groom if you want before pick up.

We have boarded our baby girl here twice now and she loves it! The first time she was too little for doggy daycare so they spoiled her in the office and the last time she had so much fun that when we got back from Vacation she was so tired that she fell asleep almost as soon as we left the parking lot! Thanks for taking such great care of Bella!

We have been boarding our lab, Traveller, at The Country Kennel for over four years whenever we travel. The staff, and especially Karen, has been pleasant and professional in handling our pet. He seems happy going in every time and loves the attention. Day care has been a big help in keeping him active and running off steam. He loves being with the other dogs. I would highly recommend The Country Kennel to anyone who needs to board their dog.

Our pup has gone for daycare probably 6-8 times and at first, we were very charmed by the staff and the facility. However, the past two visits have been less than pleasant. The staff seemed overworked and less than enthused to be there and the dogs haven't seemed very active or happy at pick up. Today, we picked up only to find that the dogs were all inside (with 60 degree weather) and that, when they barked at me they were threatened with a super soaker style water gun.
My dog apparently paced and "screamed" all day according to the associate. Seeing as how she's not a huge barker, I can only assume that this is whining that they're speaking of and that the water covering her side was from being squirted. Some people may be ok with that discipline but we are not. Our baby was a rescue and has a fear of even a squirt bottle when I clean so I can only imagine how she felt being squirted out of frustration. Label me an overprotective pet parent if you must but we will not be using the facility again.

I have just started taking my 8 month old puppy Rosa to the The Country Kennel for half day play/care. I am doing this to help socialize her, she has separation anxiety, refuses to stop rough puppy play, etc. They took a lot of time making sure she would fit in with the "pack", yes there was a "try out" to get in. The indoor play area is very clean. I am extremely type A about everything and I can say that so far I am very happy. She actually sleeps on the way home. I will be sure to update!

We were looking for a local alternative for our two lovely canine children, so that we would not have to burden family and friends. Country Kennel looked like a great local and affordable solution. We dropped our two dogs off on Friday for a weekend trip. Our dog Anderson had a dried healing scab smaller than a pencil eraser on his nose when we dropped him off.
Country Kennel went over their emergency care policy upon arrival. We signed a waiver allowing them to take either dog to their vet should the need arise at their discretion. I picked the dogs up on Monday. When they brought Anderson out he had blood running off of his nose and both ears to such an extent that when he shook his head in discomfort drops of blood landed on the front desk and front counter.
I was shocked that a vet had not been called after giving them permission to do so. Anderson's condition was such that I immediately brought him to the vet. I was informed that he had been scratching at his own nose as they swiped my credit card. I asked to see the owner, Larry. Larry seemed surprised to see the condition of Anderson and immediately refunded the charges for both dogs stay.
I informed Larry I would be contacting him about the bill. He was open to receiving the bill. Anderson's vet bill totaled $113. I hand delivered the first bill to the front desk and he agreed to cover the vet bill over the phone. One week later the infection required a second antibiotic prescription that cost $70. Two weeks later the check still had not arrived.
They called asking me to resubmit the bill. I called to get their email, so I could email both bills. The receptionist did not know their email and said she would have to call me back. Both bills were emailed to them. I received a check for only the first vet bill. I called Larry about the about the additional $70. I was put on hold for 15 minutes and transferred to the wrong line and a voice-mail box.
When I called back Larry picked up. I thanked him for the check and asked to discuss why the second vet bill was not paid. Larry was unwilling to discuss or compensate me for the $70 charge and hung up the phone.
