Pioneering Standards Every single thing we do is driven by a simple belief: that the love that you share with your pet is precious, and worthy of the best protection. That is why we believe in setting a higher standard of veterinary medicine. You will see it in our AAHA accreditation - something that fewer than 15% of veterinary practices have. You will see it in the thoroughness of our exams, the carefulness of our procedures, and the compassion of our team. But most importantly, you will see it in a longer, happier life for your pet.

AAHA Proud AAHA is an organization with a simple purpose: to recognize and accredit veterinary practices who demonstrate excellence in everything they do. In order to determine whether an animal hospital meets this criteria, approximately 900 different variables are examined, inspected, and tested for.

My chihuahua was dying in my arms and I couldn't get him across town to the other vet without him suffering. We got him to Pioneer and they helped him immediately end his suffering. Including creamation, and everything. We are going to try to switch our other pets to Pioneer now. Thanks guys for everything. Cory

I was glad to get an appointment and people are nice. I think vet costs are high in general. I just wish he'd have explained the costs of treatment for my first dog before putting her name on the medication. That way I could do what I could afford. Vet costs can get high when you have two dogs. Also I absolutely do not like my dog getting examined in a different room than I am in.
They take them in a different room to do the examination. How does the owner know they have been examined at all? If the doctor comes back in the same room with you anyway, "how does this have to do with Covid?" It all was pretty strange. On the second dog, they helped with the cost situation which I did appreciate! But I was still feeling upset from the first dog at the same time.
I kind of felt like I came in for one thing and he found ten other things to charge for. We all want to do what's best for our dogs and don't mind paying for them to be healthy. But for some vet care can mean not paying other bills or getting behind.

Excellent service for my emergency. Was very very accommodating. My sweet Jax(snorky) couldn't walk or relieve himself. 7:45 am( before Business hours) they accommodated us!. Made no promises to treatment, yet they took him in. I had been to two animal hospitals prior and was turned away. Now just 2 days later back to normal. Bladder infection. Praise the nurses and Dr Dr. Wood!

I wish I could give 0 stars. I took my cat in on 7/6 for difficulty breathing. Dr. Wood told us it was stress and that we needed to change our home arrangements. I told him I did not think that was the cause as we had her for 11 years and know what it stress and what is not but he seems very convinced. He told me to do the things he suggested and bring her back in 3 weeks.
She died 3 days later after being rushed to Blue Pearl emergency clinic because she could not breathe. The vet at Blue Pearl told us she likely had throat cancer and said they could feel a large lump in her throat. That lump was closing off her airway. I could go on and on. Please don't take your animals here. I feel like he couldn't care less. He didn't listen to us and apparently did not examine her throat otherwise he would have felt the lump.

My dog is a challenge for vets and is very touch sensitive. Dr. Woods and his staff have been more than accommodating and understanding of my dogs needs. They also have well out of their way to meet his needs which puts me at ease. Not only that, but despite the extra needs and attention my dog needs, Dr. Woods still charges a fair and reasonable price.
During the challenges brought forth with COVID and the regulations that businesses have to follow, Dr. Woods took extra measures to help get my dog in for his appointments. Dr. Woods is a very personable vet as well and does a great job explaining the medical issues in an understandable manner as well as still being emphatic. I would recommend Pioneer Animal Hospital to anyone. I appreciate all that they have done for me and my dog.

I ended up here because my regular vet was booked solid on a Saturday, and my newly adopted 10yo cat desperately needed to be seen. Starting with the gentleman on the phone, I was treated with an extraordinary amount of professionalism and courtesy to include being greeted at the door and immediately escorted in the exam room. I was so impressed to see that dogs & cats get different entrances, waiting areas AND exam rooms which must feel like such a luxury for my nervous cat who doesn't love dogs. Dr.
Wood was excellent to both me and my cat, picked up on a few things that were missed by my regular vet only 5 days prior, and answered ALL of my questions, which was a lot. He spent more time educating me than any vet has before. The whole staff chatted with me about their own cats, which was cool. I am so grateful and will be taking both of my cats to this office for their routine care from now on. Update: I would like to update this and add that since my initial encounter here, I have faced many challenges with my cats to include having to euthanize one due to cancer, and very frequent urinary issues with the other.
I also board my cats here whenever I travel. I have always been treated like the most important client of the day even though they always seem so busy, and they are just so good to me. Every situation I have faced has been handled delicately yet Dr. Wood does not dance around anything, he is straightforward and professional while showing an incredible amount of compassion.
He helps me make tough decisions by "talking things through" and welcomes me to come back or call if I need to talk it over again. All the staff seem to genuinely adore my animals which translates to excellent care all around. I am so grateful I found this place and I will be so disappointed when the military moves me again and I have to find a new one; they will be a tough act to follow.

I've never met a more disappointing vet than William Woods for cats. He doesn't show care when answering questions, doesn't offer preventative care and quite frankly doesn't seem to care. With our new vet, we can call anytime and get answers from actually speaking to the vet 1:1, or feel confident in taking our cats in anytime. At Pioneer Hospital, we weren't given enough attention, no dietary advice was offered, and we didn't even discover one of our cats had high calcium (now resolved thanks to new vet recommending we change diets) until changing vets.
On many occasions, I mentioned stress in our multi-cat household. He just said such things were normal, etc. On the contrary, we should've purchased Felliway diffusers which our current vet recommended. They are in use and very effective. He also didn't seem to care about our cats being upset or responding to things and just mentioned, "They will get over it." On the contrary, our present vet is knowledgeable and has given great advice.
I strongly recommend finding another vet. I wish I would've never taken my cats here. You're absolutely in the wrong profession, William. Please open your heart up to actually caring about animals if you choose to remain as a vet.
