I have brought my dog here for many years of his life. I paid the premium price tag for what I thought to be premium care. In most cases, it was. This last time I brought my dog in, I showed a video to Dr. Tisdale of what seemed like a cough. I was informed of an unknown mass in his abdomen seen in an x-ray. I was told he needed an ultrasound and biopsy - that came with a big price tag.
That was not surprising compared to what came next. I was asked about my budget, which I understand.some people may have limited funds. I instructed the team to proceed with scheduling an ultrasound so we could find out more. Not knowing what was wrong, I could not make an informed decision on his care. Why wasn't a chest X-Ray ordered if he had a cough?
I was then offered end of life options and help to transition if needed. WHAT?! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! We don't know what is wrong yet. why would I put my dog down? I took him for a second opinion at a different clinic where he was quickly diagnosed with Pneumonia. I paid a fraction of the cost for an ultrasound and biopsy and his medicine. He is doing much better thankfully.
I can't believe how quickly "end of life" options were discussed right after questioning my budget. Truth be told - there was no budget. I just can't believe after caring for my dog all these years - they reassured me it is ok to consider end of life transition. Why? I have the money. The dog isn't terminally ill or in pain. He had Pneumonia and experienced some weight loss.
He didn't need to be put down. I can't say Dr. Smith would have recommended this or missed Pneumonia but Dr. Tisdale let me down on this one in a big way. I also had my buddy waiting 4+ hours in the car. Not ok.

I had been to 4 different vets last week and could not figure out what was wrong with my dog. Dr. Smith ran diagnostic tests and had her back to normal within 48 hours. He is very knowledgeable, reliable and responsive and I am so thankful that I have now found an amazing vet and team to take care of my pups.

Our family have been bringing our fur babies to Dr. Smith for years now, and have never been disappointed. The care team here is absolutely amazing. They are kind, and very patient with us as owners trying to understand everything going on. The doctors take their time explaining everything to us as well as giving us options for treatments. It is always a sign of release to know that the front desk calls you back usually within an hour and are so helpful with scheduling to make sure the babies are up to date on shots. The grooming is also great. we have never had a problem and will continue to give our business to them.
