The Zoot Pet Hospital family is devastated to hear about the tragic event at the Ponderosa Pet Resort over the weekend. We are aware that some of our clients and their pets are affected. There is still an ongoing investigation as to what, exactly, happened at Ponderosa. As soon as we are provided more details as to the cause, we'll work to apply any learnings that are generated to our hospital.
Your pet's health is our first priority. Our veterinarians and their committed staff bring decades of experience to our first-class AAHA accredited facility, the only of its kind in Georgetown. We offer a full range of veterinary services from routine vaccinations to surgical procedures as well as operating a fully-stocked pharmacy.
Our cage-free all-suite luxury boarding facilities are surrounded by four private acres of shaded land. All of our pet-guests receive personalized care and accommodations at an all-inclusive flat rate. We do take our guests out to play and socialize at a minimum of four times a day. We don't charge based on weight, extra feeding, meds or activity level.

We've been boarding our dog at Zoot for a few years. The staff feel like family. We refuse to take our dog to a place with cages and no outdoor space. Zoot has spacious suites and outdoor areas for the dogs to play. It's a little pricey, but completely worth it. The people who work at Zoot love animals and love our dog. We appreciate everything they do. Zoot is truly something special.

It's a beautiful facility, but the service process is bottom line focused. Every time I brought my dog, the technician initiating the appointment is tasked with lecturing me on other add ons I need to incorporate into my visit. It's one thing to educate someone on what's absolutely needed, but it's another to lecture them on why they must have something superfluous.

This has happened on more than one occasion with different individuals. I'm quite frankly tired of communicating with staff that are trying to achieve a great weekly scorecard as opposed to being realistic to the needs of now and truly understanding the dog, their home life, and daily routines. I want my dog to feel loved and taken care of. I would like to have a down to earth conversation with staff members that tell it to me straight and practice with a mindset eager to prescribe the least invasive approach to making sure my dog stays happy and healthy.

Extremely happy with my pet's visit. The front staff was very nice and my wait was minimal. The vet tech did such a good job with my dog and my dog was at ease. The vet's are also very nice. My concerns were eased before leaving the office and Lily was much better by the next day as promised. Highly recommend Zoot!

Our two pups spent their first boarding experience at Zoot. It went so much better than I anticipated! They were well cared for and had lots of time outside, playing with other dogs. Really appreciate the Zoot staff! We also use Zoot for vet needs and grooming. Have never had a bad experience!

My dog was diagnosed with lymphoma just over 3 weeks ago. The emergency pet hospital said he needs to get on a treatment plan ASAP. Zoot WAS our vet. The ER sent all the info right away to Zoot. I call Zoot the next day and was told the files were on the Vets desk and I will be called back. That was over 3 weeks ago. They still have NOT called back!

I called my old vet who we left a few years ago because of moving and wanted some place closer to our new house. Our old vet made an appt right away even though he not seen us in years. They also answered the phone right away. Zoot has a recorded message you need to listen to about about protocol they expect from callers. Granted some people are rude and obnoxious but if they are getting so many calls like that maybe ZOOT needs to reevaluate how they respond to their clients.

We are Done with Zoot. Today looks like it will our dogs last day. Our other dog will NEVER go to Zoot again. Sure seeing zoot when we found he had the big c probably would not changed things but their of lack of response and care to me is Not acceptable and not worthy of me ever putting trust in them again!

Our 11 year old Golden Retriever recently suffered a cluster of seizures due to what appears to be a brain tumor. After stabilizing her at an emergency pet care, we took her to Zoot for a follow up check. We have taken our dog to Zoot before and we always have been pleased, but this time they simply went above and beyond. The level of care, patience, love, dignity and professionalism that they poured on our loved one was simply amazing and moving. I want to give special thanks to Jacob. He along with the doctors and staff are what make Zoot so unique and special.

I have been taking my dogs here for medical appointments and grooming for about 9 months. The facilities are well-kept. Dr. Mead is knowledgeable and listens well. For my dogs' grooming appointments, they seem to use the crate minimally and are efficient. You can pay an extra $15 to have an express appointment where they don't use a crate at all, which was great the first time my anxious dog went. No complaints!

Our puppy had her first groom today, and we couldn't be happier! She came out beautiful, happy, and smelling lovely! It's like she can tell she looks fancy now pic of the before/after. We asked for as short as possible (within reason), because she runs hot and we do a lot of outdoor adventuring.

We have had our pets going to Zoot for a little while now and have had no issues until now. We had our husky go in for a stuffy nose to be sent home with meds that made her very sick to the point we had to take her to an emergency vet as they were not open on the weekend. We were given meds by the emergency vet and she was got even sicker. So we called Zoot to get her in as this was now a complete emergency and they would not take her in they instead made us go back to the emergency vet only to loose my dog in this whole process.

How on earth do you not see a dog that you have dealt with. I will never get over the fact that my dog was just not important enough to get her back in. I am disgusted with this kind of business and will now be looking for a better vet than this. Just because you pay a high price for care sure doesn't mean you will get good care.

I had an outstanding first appointment for my long-haired, high-strung cat yesterday. She got an exam, vaccines and full body grooming which turned out perfectly. Thanks to each and every person I interacted with along the way. We will definitely be back!

Zoot has always provided our family with amazing care, professionalism and we can always rely on them to treat our pets with the utmost sympathy. With our previous pet we shopped around and while you may find the pricing is somewhat cheaper elsewhere, you absolutely get what you pay for. Here we are happy to know we are covering all our bases, our questions are answered, and our family pet is treated with respect and love. Dr.

Young is always thorough and patient with my questions. All of the support staff is amazing. We have peace of mind with Zoot, and it feels good to know we can trust them to do what's best for our pet.

Awesome facility and friendly staff- I'm so happy I found this place. My dog Murphy loves it. I have to work extended hours on short notice, and it's a huge weight off my shoulders knowing my dog is in good hands. Love Zoot, in addition to boarding and daycare I transferred my veterinary services here too.

Lovely place! I took our dog, Belle, here for the first time for a grooming appointment. The staff was very nice and accommodating from the moment we were in contact about a week prior. They made sure our doggie that has a lot of anxiety was taken care of and not in a kennel for too long. The building itself is beautiful and well taken care of. When I was waiting in the waiting room during drop off and pick up, I overheard several customers that were long-time customers being called by name (both owner and pet) and talking about how comfortable and safe this place is for their fur babies. Can't wait to use this place again for grooming and other services.

We have our 2 exotic shorthair cats groomed here - it is impossible to find a cat groomer taking new clients, so we are super grateful. Kristin does an amazing job, honestly magic. Our two cats come back looking fresh! Our cats hate hate hate being brushed and groomed at home, so I am glad there is somewhere we can take them, and they don't seem too traumatized when they come back :

Great place for our pups. Vet, grooming, and boarding all in one place. Had both dogs seen for a wellness exam then grooming, which turned out great!

They are incredible! My girl got the puppy package-includes exams, vaccinations, and getting spayed. Every visit they are caring and thorough. Jill was beyond wonderful before and after the surgery.

I have waited 2 years to be sure I was being fair with this review. We frequently boarded our two dogs with Zoot's over several years. I always said, have them see a vet if necessary and signed an authorization for a lot of money to cover any bills. well, we took a cruise. I told Zoot's we would be out of contact for some of it, but left our daughter's phone and full authorisation for any decisions, and 2 friends phone who live in Georgetown.

Imagine my distress when we docked in Florida and found 3 messages from Zoot's saying one of our dogs was limping. Did we want anything done? I called at once, and she was better, they said. So we picked her up the next day. She started limping at home and passed away a day later. That may have been inevitable but she should have been seen by a vet.

Neither my daughter or either of our friends were contacted by Zoot's. So, don't board your dogs there thinking they will be close to medical care, as I did. It didn't work that way.

I recently had to make the decision to have our 15 1/2 year old Westie put to sleep. We are in the Georgetown area for business and had no idea who to call. We pass Zoot Pet Hospital every day on our way to the office, so that is where I started. I called and spoke with Terry at first. I told her that Jeter had been sick for a couple of days, wasn't eating and had been vomiting yellow bile.

Right from the start she was very empathetic and told me what a great "parent" I was to have a Westie that old. Unfortunately she didn't have any appointments available until Tuesday. (I was calling on a Saturday). I went on to explain that I don't think he would make it until then. She gave me a couple of numbers to local Emergency Vets.

She went ahead and took all my information for Tuesday, just in case and put me on hold. When she came back to the line she told me she talked to Dr. Hergert, explained my situation and asked if I could be there by 12:30. (She said Dr. Hergert had a soft heart and a genuine love for animals). Everything you look for with a veterinarian, right? Right when I got to their office, Robin (the Tech) met Jeter and myself and took me back to the private room.

She also told me that Jeter must have had such a great loving home to be such an old guy. Dr. Hergert was gentle with Jeter. She answered every question and addressed every doubt that I had. (Because who doesn't?). She assured me that I was doing the right thing for him. He passed quickly and peacefully surrounded by love. They left me to say goodbye to him and didn't rush me to leave.

I can only say that each and every person Jeter and I encountered at Zoot Pet Hospital genuinely cared about his well being, and were caring and supportive to myself. I have always been a pet owner, and this is not your typical "get them in and get them out, collect the money" veterinarian office. If you are new to Georgetown and looking for a veterinarian, look no further. If they treat your fur baby half as good as they cared for my old fur baby, you and your pet are in great hands.

My one star is based solely on customer service. I needed to get shots for my dogs. Left message with phone #. No response. Two days later i call and have to chose a different option just to get a hold of someone. No biggie the dogs got their shots. A few weeks later i try to schedule a four day stay with them while I'm out of town for work. Left two messages with phone # on different days.

It has been several weeks now since i left message. And i still have never gotten a call back. No problem. Got them in at another place down the street. Wanted to use them for all my dogs needs since they are so close. Was also willing to pay their high cost, But i could never get a hold of anyone. I will drive the extra mileage for good customer service.

I've lived in several different cities and most recently Los Angeles, but this is the BEST veterinary clinic I have ever been to. I recently had my LA vet consult with Dr Zeh because I trust him so much. The care and knowledge you receive here is unparalleled and I honestly miss them, even though I love my current vet (and her willingness to consult!) My ferrets, dogs, and cats all received amazing care at this facility and I am so grateful - the doctors and staff have the best knowledge, experience, and love for animals, I will forever hold all other pet care to their standard.

Great location /building. They also have state of the art systems, HOWEVER BAD business practice. Good luck getting a med refill on a standard antibiotic!. They make you have to see the doctor again to just to get your meds. Not okay in my book. They make enough money, they should not be nickel and diming pet owners Highly disappointed as I really wanted to keep coming here. I will no be going back.

The vets themselves seem quite good and the facility is very nice. But the vet techs are rude to the point of being hostile. If you want to get yelled at by someone for asking a simple question about refilling a prescription then go ahead and call Zoot! The vet techs will be happy to help. I won't be going back, I'm not about to hand my dog over to people who exhibit that level of unprovoked anger and hostility. Oh and still waiting for the promised call back from the office manager when I called to tell them what had just happened.

I really wanted to love Zoot because they were one of the only places I found in Georgetown with cameras to be able to see your dog. It's pretty pricey for having your dog remain in their room all day. It's advertised that they take your dog out 4 times for 15-20 min play sessions. My dog was taken out of his room 2 times and each time was for 10 minutes.

I was very disappointed to pay $42 or my dog to sit in a room all day. At one point, one of the staff brought my dog back into his room and kicked him to get in. I was very upset and this is when I decided never to go back. They are extremely understaffed and it shows. Each time I called, the front desk customer service was horrible. When I dropped my dog off for his evaluation, I was told we would get a report at pick up letting us know how he did.

When my husband and I picked him up, the person who brought our dog out, handed him over and said bye. I asked who was giving us a report as to how he did, she looked confused and walked away. I then had to call reception and ask for someone to let us know how his evaluation went. Super frustrating. They need more staff and I hope that helps improve their customer service.

I have only ever brought my dog for grooming, so I can't comment on any of their other services. Prepare for surprise fees that make no sense. Case and point: $20 extra for "matted ears." I asked for them to be cut anyway. Why is that extra? 2/4 times my dog's feet have been massacred. Every time there are spots that are missed. On every foot. Underwhelming when you charge $150.

I have taken my cat to Zoot for everything over the past few years. I've had him boarded, groomed, and all of his vet services. The team was great and always sent him home with notes on his stay. Earlier this month at the age of 20 he passed away and today I received a lovely note from everyone at Zoot telling they were sorry for my loss. Who does that?! They are truly a wonderful group who understands our relationship with our pets. Thank you!

I've been using Zoots for boarding our dog for 5 years. This is the first time I felt my instructions for her were not followed through with. She was not her usual happy self after boarding as usual. She looked out of sorts, she drank water as if she had not had water for a long time, she acted nervous, and vomited. I had to ask for all of her items and even the item I put them all in.

Use to get a report on her activities to know she actually got play time AND the 1 on 1 time I paid extra for. I honestly don't know if any of that was provided for her. THIS has never happened. Whoever is in charge of the weekend crew should double check per care.
