Big Thompson Animal Hospital

We love the folks at Big Thompson. Dr. Wiltz and his staff are very kind, caring people. They have cared for our pups now for around 8 or 10 years and we could not be happier.

Dr Glick is patient, compassionate, and an extremely skilled veterinarian. She has taken the time and effort to really get to know my dog and plan the best course of treatment for him. I never feel rushed or flustered during my dog's visits, and I really appreciate having genuine conversations with her about his health and needs. Dr Glick is absolutely wonderful, and it is evident that this clinic truly cares about giving the best possible care to all of their patients!

I had taken my 3 dogs here one time previously and thought they were okay. Then yesterday's visit was horrible I would not recommend this place for your dogs. No info was given to me unless I asked. My dogs were taken out of the room and brought back about 15 minutes later and I was told that the vet Mickey would be in to speak with me. He arrives and tells me that all of my dogs are healthy and fine.

When I asked him certain questions pertaining to my dogs he simply stated that he did not check for this or that. This went on for 3 dogs. He had to actually look at my dogs for what I asked him to do. What were they doing with all of my dogs for 15 minutes while I sat in the room by myself? I don't think that he even examined my dogs. Then came a $500.00 bill.

For what? What did he/they do for me and my dogs? If you care about your pets health and want a vet that listens to you and your concerns about your animal then this is not the place to take them to. The technician was great.

I had 2 loving pets that I thought I could trust with these guys. After a few covid visits my dog was terrified of going to them! So much so he would have to be sedated to even go in their parking lot and I am talking MASSIVE amounts of gabapentin and trazodone. He is a giant dog and impossible to move with sedation. I should have known better than to take my kitty to them but it was kind of an emergency.

They insisted it was a uti but saw an injury that was never addressed. I had to seek out a second opinion. A month later he could no longer walk or go to the bathroom on his own. I had to euthanize him because of nerve damage and that could have been prevented. I had addressed it with them and was told to speak to the office manager. I did and she was rude and accused me of not even paying and that she "wrote it off for me" I had to send in statements proving I did!

So I talked to Dr Wiltz the owner and he was basically insisting I couldn't have afforded the treatment he would hand needed anyway. This is after they collected $400+ for a uti that wasn't even the main problem. This isn't the first time my family had problems with this vet! I should have known better. For crying out loud they are afraid of my dog and they are a vet clinic. they are supposed to take care of animals. What kind of vet is okay with telling people they can't afford things and are afraid of dogs!?

Awful place. rudest people I have ever talked too, I understand it's 8 in the morning but I had to get there just the same as you guys at the same time. Not to mention you made it so unnecessarily difficult for me to even schedule an appointment, and when difficulties arose, it was complete mistreatment from the staff. I had all of my paperwork, and they told me "I didn't need it, " but upon leaving on my way back home I get a call saying I need the exact paperwork that they told me I didn't need.

I brought my cat this time, but awhile back I brought my dog when she was still with us, but she had to get a rabies vaccine. Funny enough I was coming back to them three weeks later to pay for a cremation bill. It happened awhile ago but this place is not worth your time NOR money. 400 dollars for a spay? Don't waste ur time, I shouldn't have even came back. Unprofessional and suspicious.

The entire staff is absolutely wonderful. Their ability to remain kind and compassionate, while remaining clinical and professional, is truly amazing.

Our dog got hit by a car last year. She was bleeding and pretty messed up, so we took her to the clinic. They kept the dog all day in a cage, they didn't do x-rays or any sort of exam. Then they charged me $150 for doing nothing."if you notice anything else or odd behavior bring her back." So you can charge me another $150 for doing nothing? I'm extremely disappointed at the lack of care and concern for my clearly injured pet/ companion. They didn't seem to be too concerned that I was stressed out about my dog getting hit by a car. They're not very people or pet friendly in my opinion.

We thought we were going to lose our kitty because we didn't know what was wrong with him but we called them and they took him in right away even though they were really busy. The doctor put him on a couple different meds and he was up moving around 12 hours of him coming home. Between the power of prayers and the medicine he's pulling through really well. Thank you for taking such good care of our Pita.

Great place to take your pet. We've been there for years with all our dogs. Knowledgeable and friendly staff. No crazy surprise bills. Highly recommended!

The Vets and Team are professional, compassionate and give outstanding service and advice. Even while out of state, Dr Sharkey took time to advise us, make medication suggestions and followed up to make sure we're doing well. We've been going here for years and grateful for their work!

Took our pet in since we are new to the area and they were recommended by some friends. They prescribed some supplements for our dog which we purchased along with flea and heartworm meds. Then the next day we get an invitation to the website where you can get meds for %20 off. Wish we would have known that before we spent the money. After they reached out we were able to return the medication and then reorder through the online pharmacy. Saved some money and we were able to set up auto ship. The staff that we dealt with were super helpful and went above and beyond to assist us. Very pleased with how this turned out. Great communication and follow up.

They provided the best experience at a time when I lost my best fur buddy of 15 years. They made the process simple and expressed their care throughout. The memories of 'Billy' were beautifully preserved. Thank you to everyone at Big Thompson Animal Hospital.

You guys are awesome. Not only are you professionals in your field, but also so very caring and understanding. You made me feel comfortable and welcomed in your facility. The staff were all inviting, & prompt to answer my questions. But most of all, I felt that my pets were safe in your care, hands down. And that means alot to me. So thank you, truly, the whole staff, your the best. I appreciate every staff member at Big Thompson Animal Hospital.

Thank you for giving our Family the closure we needed. You guys went beyond what I ever expected. We received the remains of our Bentley today and I couldn't believe what we got back. We were panicking to find the right place to put down our dog Bentley of almost 17 years. You guys took us in last minute and showed us so much compassion on a day that was sooo hard!

We've had to say goodbye to previous pets and none compared to you! THANK YOU! For doing what you love and showing the compassion to family's that need Veterinarian like you guys! I will definitely refer you all! God Bless!

WE WILL NEVER GO BACK! Not a trust worthy practice at all! Very incompetent staff. We brought our new puppy in for shots and made it VERY CLEAR that we weren't ready for him to have the rabies vaccine. We were already not happy that they take took our puppy in the back for the exam and other shots. A few minutes later they brought him back and they had given him the rabies shot!

They then tried to turn it back on me and said I should have been more clear. Let me be very clear I was more then clear on all of this and made it very clear why I didn't want them taking him into the back in the first place. It was for this very reason! DO NOT take your animals to this incompetent practice. You have no idea what or how they are treating your furry family member. They could have cared less and gave us a snarky "Have a good night" as my daughter and I left in tears. Hoping our puppy is okay.

Dr Mickey and the staff are incredible. My dogs are healthy and well cared for because of this hospital. This is the best Vet (Doctor) I have ever had. Dr. Mickey doesn't try to drain your pocket and offers solutions that you can afford. I highly recommend these fine, knowledgeable people if you are looking for that old fashioned home town feeling from a Doctor who really cares. If I could I would give them 10 stars.

Switched to this vet after having some issues with another vet and I'm so glad I did. Everyone is very friendly and good with my dog. The office has always been great about contacting me and keeping me in the loop. Thanks for everything you do Big Thompson!
