The sitter has adequate knowledge and experience in caring for pets and is clearly mindful of their safety and well being. The sitter visits the client's home before the first pet-sitting assignment to meet the pets and get detailed information about their care. The sitter shows a positive attitude during the initial meeting and seems comfortable and competent dealing with animals.
People always ask me how I went from being a classically trained French Pastry Chef, to starting a pet sitting company. It is a long story, but it begins when I was a small child, my best friend and play mate was our Fox terrier "Candy". There are even baby pictures of Candy & I in my crib. It is very important for me to be knowledgeable of new ideas in pet care and pet safety, so we can take the best care of our clients babies. I have been certified by Pet Sitters International since 2006, and I have to renew my certification every 3 years by obtaining 30ACU credits.
I was born in Fayetteville, N.C. in 1983. My family and I made our way to NJ in 1993. Growing up, my brothers and I would catch all kinds of critters. Snakes, turtles, frogs, the occasional chipmunk. We would take any injured wildlife to my mom to fix so we could release our finds back into the wild.
