Our Weimaraners would love to spend some time with you going on Sunday Walks at the Friends For Pets kennel or staying at your home for a weekend or holiday. We rescue hundreds of dogs every year and would love for you to come meet some of them. I have been deeply touched by your many messages of caring, regard, loyalty, and, especially for the love and gratefulness you've each expressed for those personalities whom you've adopted.
California Weimaraner Education and Rescue and Doberman Rescue (Fillmore), trusted organizations who work with the same selfless idealism, also stepped in to help - we are truly grateful.

Services
We have over 50 rescued dogs in our care at any given time that would love to see you this weekend. They'd love to be taken for a walk around the neighborhood, talked to, pet and simply adored. Your application will be reviewed within 7 days by a volunteer and if accepted you will be invited to come by the next Sunday Walk event.
Work schedule too complex for a dog companion during the week? Call or email us for a "Week End or Holiday Friend" - someone whose Saturday & Sunday or Holiday will be active & fun sharing with you. We choose dogs most needy of special time matched with your plans. Many of the dogs would be content to play ball, go for a walk, have dinner, share TV or quiet time and curl up next to the bed with you when the day is over!
Your donation will help us care for the more than 50 neglected and abandoned dogs that we are trying to find good homes for. As the Friends For Pets Foundation is 100% volunteer run, no one receives a salary, meaining all donations directly benefit the animals. Some dogs needing extra care to sustain them, end up living their days at our non-kill facility and the Yeager Fund has been created for these often senior or disabled dogs.

My husband and I had our weimaraner for seven years. He was our little baby. He had free range of our home. Our dog slept with us and went everywhere with us. He was not used to other dogs or cats. He believed himself a human. When we had our baby 9 months ago, our baby was constantly sick. After seeing countless pediatricians, allergists, and dermatologists we had to finally accept that our baby could not be around any dog.
His allergy to dog protein was too high and severe. It has been the hardest thing in the world to let go of our dog. But Diane at Friends for Pets Foundation has made this as bearable as possible. They absolutely care and love these dogs. Diane has been so patient with us, so understanding, so accommodating. We had too many worries and needs, we wanted everything to be perfect for our dog.
She put up with it all. Diane vetted out everyone until she found our baby the perfect new mommy. Even with the long list of special needs our dog had, she managed to find him his forever home. We stay in touch with his new mommy regularly and I feel so blessed. Thank you Diane for everything. Friends for Pets is truly a special place. I can not thank them enough.

Friends For Pets changed our lives forever for the better! We feel SO blessed and lucky to have a rescued dog in our home! This foundation cares for the dogs, searches and bails them out of distant shelters and cares for them until they are ready for their forever home. The process is selective, you have to go through and application and home visit which is good because this breed of dog is active and needs the right families to be placed in their homes. If you can't adopt, you can volunteer to walk and care for the dogs. It's AWESOME, check it out - you'll be GLAD you did!
