Edit2: they made it right by coming to me and exchanging the bag and even gave me my money back. Wont be taking down the original review after being blown off by the front counter because i wonder if i would have gotten the same callback to fix it without leaving a bad review in the first place, nonetheless its been updated to 5 star because they did fix the issue and even went past that to give me my money back.
Make sure you double check the tag on bulk feed that their stock boy gives you because apparently hes just guessing. Drove 45 mins there and back for whole oats and was given rolled corn, not even close, and now will have to waste another hour and a half of my time to go back and exchange it. Edit: called back to see about exchanging letting them know that i may be there around 10 mins after closing and asked if someone could stay to switch the bag and got some bureaucratic answer about how that wouldnt be possible because everyone has to get off at the same time?
Even if that were true it would have to be 10 of them staying 10 mins late for them to spend as much of their own time as i will have to fixing their mistake. How is that fair or good buisness?

I have 2 corgis who are allergic to chicken. The clerk was able to guide me to purchase correct food my dogs could digest. The prices are reasonable and employees are helpful. I buy 30 lbs of food about every month and a half. I am a frequent buyer and the bag of food I bought this time, cost me $6.00. I ordinarily pay $60.00. This is a great place if you need to buy in bulk.

I come here to get hay for my bunnies. I drive from LANCASTER. I have been to MANY different feed stores I can tell you that Red Barn has the BEST quality hay around. I have a feed store 5 minutes from my house and I refuse due to quality and customer service. Customer service at Red Barn from the store to the hay barn is always so friendly and helpful.
I have gotten Oat, Timothy and Orchard Grass hay and all three never disappoints. Also, their Oxbow toys are at a great price so I always pick up a few toys for them while I am there. I also love they have a loyalty program which I haven't experienced anywhere else!

Went there this weekend and found out his name is Mike. Complained and told Lupe, and she said she will notify the regional manager. This time, as usual I check the hay to see if it has lots of seed heads. I pick which one I want with some guy helping me this week end and I tell him I'll be right back going to go pay, I'm setting this here and I'll be right back and Mike starts yelling at me that I need to pay first.
He assumed I was taking a 11.00 bag of hay. When I found out his name I went and spoke to him and told him if he's going to work with the public he needs to learn how to speak to customers and that I didn't appreciate going there 2 times a month apart and I am having such a negative experience choosing my selection of hay. I have never had a problem with my choosing the hay I want, before I pay.
The bags are transparent and I didn't need hay yet but decided to swing by while I was near there and just get one bag. I usually buy other items there but I have been promoting the Red Barn to people who have small animals on the Facebook groups I am part of that eat hay and this is how I am treated. Such a disappointment. been going there for some time; now my 4th year.

Horrible customer service. 1. Spend 10 minutes on hold every time I call 2. buy a stall mat 3. spend $80 on sending two pickup drivers to pickup the mats AND THE STAFF WOULD NOT LOAD. WOULD SEND THE DRIVERS AWAY EVERY TIME. They would not fold a indestructible horse stall mat made to be run over by tractors because "it could break" and would not put inside of a prius with the seats down that fits a queen size bed. Here are two pictures of Priuses load capacity for your staff's reference. YOU HAVE A HORRIBLE MANAGER ON DUTY THAT WILL COST YOU A LOTTTT OF MONEY.

If you have a pet, they have the food for it. It is locally owned by a person. They've been in business in the valley for ever years and years. They also help collect food for rescue organizations. Their prices are reasonable they have more than one location and they are super helpful. Really enjoyed my experience here. I just took a trip to the south and was so impressed by the service and wish that I had more of that in Los Angeles. I came here and that's the kind of service I got friendly, grateful for me stopping in nice and eager to help.

Went here for the first time. I have a dog, cat and rabbit and they have everything I need! Of course they have things for horses, chickens and all sorts of animals. The staff was super helpful and suggested a different hay that's fresher and more affordable. Check it out, maybe you'll never go to Petco again

*UPDATE TO MANAGER, I'M PROVIDING MORE 'RESPECT' THAN RECEIVED* I spoke with my bank, Saturday, 12-26-20, 6:02 am, seeking advice about disposition of merchandise Red Barn was to retrieve per prior agreements, on Tuesday, 12-22-20. I sought an email address to write a message giving them one business day (per Claims), as courtesy, to pick up while the bank was taping, as I have been forbidden to call, etc.
I did attempt to leave a voicemail 6;28 am to provide above information. My bank instructed should Red Barn not retrieve merchandise by, Monday, 12-28-20, despite my blocking their phone number, I have authority to dispose of said merchandise, Tuesday, 12-29-20, without consequence. RED BARN HAS NO AUTHORITY TO CHARGE MY CREDIT CARD EVER. All information about institution and reversal of this claim has been taped and noted.

The employees here always are very nice to me. I know it's hard during the virus, but they have really been following guidelines by only letting two or three customers in the store at once which I really appreciated. It took longer yes, but for my health and safety I don't mind the wait. The staff knows their stuff and helped me with some hay questions for my bunnies and helped me with shavings.
Their hay is a bit more expensive for horses (was looking for my horses as well), but their shaving prices are pretty comparable to other stores. I will keep coming back here.

I have shopped at Red Barn for years for food for my classroom pets. I only had one issue of mealworms that went bad and at first they would not make good and replace the mealworms until I posted a negative yelp review then a manager called and worked it out. It should have been worked out immediately. it's called customer service. I continue to shop there for my pet needs. I purchase anything from bags of hay and pellets for my Guinea Pigs, bird seed for my cockatiel, mealworms first my bearded dragon and leopard geckos, etc.

I'm not sure why the reviews are so low. This location of Red Barn is THE BEST. I have been buying Chicken Feed and Premium Dog Food here and the prices are low and service is high. I don't have to lug the heavy sacks, as the employees either carry them to my car or have me drive to the barn and load it up. Sometimes it gets busy, but everyone is helpful and friendly including the cat. There's also free popcorn!

Came in to shop for dog chews today. Upon walking in, I walked passed two employees talking to eachother & not acknowledging me at all. I walked around looking down corridors of the small shop for the specific items I came for. still nothing. Apparently talking about Christmas movies they haven't seen is much more important. I found the small section of Red Barn Chews & Bones I was looking for -all of which were at least $1-$3 more affordable on Chewy.
I came here in hopes of supporting local and expected the same if not better prices than Chewy considering it's their own brand. Nope. As I strolled through the rest of the store to see what was available, I didn't see other brands or products I was interested, so as I made my way out, 5 (FIVE) people behind the counter blatantly continued to ignore me as I made my way down the last two aisles & out the door. What a shame.

Mobile vaccination here is the best. Been taking doggies here since forever! I don't know how my mom found the spot but it's a gem. Plenty of parking and the vaccinations are cheap! Got doggy all up to date with shots for $33. They also take card! Plus your dog doesn't feel like he's going to a vet so they don't get so stressed out. Dr. Bryan is the best and is very gentle.
You hold your dog gently and he just comes right up and sticks them. You're dog won't even know whats happening! Also, he used to treat our ol dog Buster for ear infections and has solution you can purchase! The store itself has sweet employees that will give your dog treats if you let them. Lots of food to choose from and today a man was there and gave me a sample of pure dog food to try for my doggy. Snagged the puppo one of those toys that aren't stuffed and squeaky in the head for $12. Don't forget to check out their baby chicks in the back left of the store! They are cute!
