Extremley Inconvient hours. Calls you about available dogs then rudely proclaims they were adopted out the same day as available. Will not reccomend to anyone again.

Great place to adopt cat's, dog's and other small domestic animals. They accept surrendered snaps as well as knowledge of animal behavior training specialist in the area.

If you have found a stray it may be in your best interest to try and find it's family using your own means. Noah's arc will practically rip the animal from you and deny you further contact with it. Their efforts go so far as scanning for a chip. If you've lost a pet, pray that they weren't brought here because they will be adopted out immediately.

Went there yesterday just to visit and give some animals some love. Very welcoming staff and a clean and well organized environment. The staff and volunteers answered any questions and were extremely easy to talk to. I am not from the Rockford area but I definitely recommend visiting. They are a great place and it seems they truly care about their animals. Even with Covid they handled things very well. I had no issue with wearing a mask and hand sanitizing for the safety of the staff and the safety of the animals.

No one informed me that an appointment, which i was fine with, would be just 30 minutes. Of course, that would include the paperwork (15 min). So, I was late, I couldn't find them. I had called to let them know. I was going to get a cat, not a kitty. they have them in the lobby area and then back in an enclosed room. There were a lot to choose from.

When I went back to the lobby, I was told my appt was over and i needed to leave. I Asked how long appts are she said 30 min and paperwork takes 15min. So, they think you should pick out an animal to have for the next 15 years in 15 min? You got to be kidding me. There were 3 ladies sitting behind some plexiglass that only came down to about their heads and none were wearing masks. I don't think that is acceptable to COVIX-19 restrictions. I didn't notice right away, or I would left immediately as I do have a lung disease.

They don't answer phone calls or return emails after repeated attempts. Sad for the animals who need homes and humans who need companionship at a time like this. Being busy is no excuse for poor communication

We had a great experience adopting from Noah Ark. Everyone we talked to was great and really cared about the animals. Thank you for saving so many animals. Support this business if you can!

We came to visit one dog. Sweet, sweet dog--just didn't feel quite right. The woman who introduced us to a few dogs finally brought our big guy out, and the kids and I just melted! He's our big, dumb, lovable brute. Couldn't love him any more. Adoption process was super simple. Everyone was so happy to help us and answer all our questions. Thank you!

Very bad experience, we fostered 2 dogs for them since when we went there there were complaining about how packed they were with animals. After watching these 2 puppies we decided to keep one but had to return them a few weeks before being able to adopt. Once the time came we called multiple times and went in just to feel attacked by the workers. We then got an adoption day and called before we came and a lady said we didn't have an appointment.

We had already put a down payment on the dog at this point. After this process we were told we can't adopt the dog without telling them if we own or rent our house and they also needed our work phone numbers and pay stub. This didn't seem to make much sense considering we're trying to help them and their volume of dogs. When we finally were able to go and pick the dog up the lady told us we couldn't leave because we didn't bring the correct page from our lease and someone had to bring it to us.

Who are you to tell me I can't leave while trying to adopt. After driving home and picking up the lease and then returning, I was told I had to drive back home and get the dogs collar, harness, and leash or we wouldn't be able to take him home. We already paid the adoption fee, the fee to get him fixed, and also had to buy their specific food or else they stressed once again we couldn't take him home. This place needs to get organized and maybe give someone a checklist before having them drive back and forth. Devastation.

We found two abandoned kittens last fall that did not even have their eyes open yet and I brought them in to Noah's Ark. They were cold, scared and in really bad shape. Noah's Ark volunteers took the time to teach me how to bottle feed and care for them, so I decided to take care of the kittens myself. It has been six months now, and they were both just fixed and are now part of our family.

We named the male Noah because of all the support we received from Noah's Ark. These two kittens would not have made it without their help and we appreciate them so much. Such a great no-kill rescue with dedicated workers who truly care for their animals. Highly recommend.

We've adopted three cats from Noah's Ark over the past 15 years and have been blown away by the care and love the staff ALWAYS gives to the animals. This is a wonderful shelter with concerned and dedicated workers who are tending the animals and trying to find forever homes for them. There have to be rules that everyone has to follow. We'd all like exceptions to be made in our own particular favor, but when it comes to the future of these vulnerable animals the staff has to make certain that the person or family adopting the pet has a home where pets are allowed, other family members are on board with the new family member and other animals in the family are compatible. It's the animal's well-being that's at stake; that's why these rules are in place. Keep up the good work Noah's Ark! Don't change a thing.

I have volunteered here a couple of times. The staff takes such good care of these animals! They also have a great screening process. High standards are needed to make sure that the animals are going to a good home who is ready to take on the commitment. Like the guy who commented complaining about how he doesn't communicate w/ his room mates &&& getting them down there is impossible.

That lack of communication is already a bad sign (that everyone might not be on board with the house having a dog). The shelter needs to meet everyone so they can see that the pet will be treated well. Not only are they good to the animals, they are good to the community as well. They help with the jail's rehab program and allow current parolees to help out for their community service hours. It seems to be something that a lot of them enjoy.

Ridiculous I drove out an hour to adopt a dog, found a new best friend and then was denied because I live in a partitioned house and everybody in the house must be there. I don't even know those people, they all have full time jobs, I don't interact with them, how the hell could I pull that off? Its time to change some policies.

Love this no-kill shelter. We adopted both Hoss and Lilly from them. I would look here first.
