Kudos to those working at the Winnebago County Animal Control! You guys Rock. Dealing with the amount of people that came in when I was there getting my tag it's unbelievable what you put up with. Keep up the good work there are many of us who appreciate you.

Had gone in Saturday and found a cat we wanted. Filled out the adoption paperwork online. Called our vet to set up appointment so was good to go when we went to pick her up Monday.

Winnebago county animal control is a great place if you have wildlife issue in or around your house plus any story domestic animals. They usually come within 30 minutes or less if you call them and stay until they retrieve any animal on or near your property or place of buisness in a humane way without harming animals or property. Plus as far as I know they are a no kill sanctuary/rescue organizations. One even adopt a cat or dog from them. Staff is professional, courtesy and knowledgeable.

My Lucky kitty was wrongfully taken by this company Winnebego County Animal Services as they conned a disabled senior citizen into signing a paper to take him (he is microchipped & all shots etc) and then I was not called but notified by email received weeks later about his microchip and when I went to claim my Lucky kitty, there was no one to call beforehand about pricing and I took a cab there as it's 6 miles from my home.

After 45 minutes with my cab waiting then they told me Lucky would be released, but then they dropped the bomb and said they needed $81 cash or credit card, after running up $55 to my cab fare, I did not have the $ on me but offered to have my family pay by credit card over the phone as they were closing. They refused and do not accept credit/debit cards over the phone, but you can bail out a murderer with a credit card over the phone but Not your animal!

I told them I would be back on the 3rd of the month and pay for him and also a disabled senior citizens cat they said was ok until the 3rd. When I returned with cash in hand, they had sold my LUCKY cat! Then I filed freedom of information act to find out what they did with my cat and it's supposed to take 5-7 days but it's been 8 days and no action taken and no phone call and when I call it he reception they transfer me to another answering machine. Now my lawyers must take legal action.

I just wanted to adopt a cat. I filled out all the paperwork to adopt her, I was told to come back the next day to pay the fee and take her home. I came back the next day as soon as they opened and they told me she was in the cat room. I go to the room, she's not there, so I went back up and they told me someone that worked there sent her to Petsmart and didn't even put it in their system.

I don't want to be a Karen or anything, but I just don't understand why they would do this. It was super disappointing to be told I can come adopt this cat just to drive 30 minutes and be told oops we sent her to Petsmart.

I adopted a 8 year old miniature poodle July, 2018 for my family and we absolutely fell in love with her relax nature. Unfortunately she just passed yesterday, but just to know those last two years was relaxing to her soul before her transition is comforting.

I am a volunteer with a rescue partner of this shelter, and cannot say enough good things about Amber and her team. Easily one of my favorite partners to work with. If we ask for something, we receive it promptly and transfers occur smoothly. The records are neat and organized when being transferred over, and its obvious they really care. Thank you all for all you do.
