Services
Hi, my name is Vickie. You can rest assured that I will treat your pets as if they were my own! My name is Barbi. I have been a pet sitter for Quality Time since 2012. I have five pets at home - my dog Buddy (pictured), two cats and an eyelash crested gecko. I live in Bowie MD. I worked for about 7 years at a veterinary clinic in Solomon's Island MD as a receptionist and sometimes as a technician.
Our service provides all types of pets the loving care they deserve right in their own home. Pet owners can have peace of mind knowing their pets are in our reliable care. Bring in mail and newspapers, alternate lights and curtains, and anything else to give your home that "lived in" look. After you return, you will call us to confirm your arrival and ensure your pets are okay and happy.
Our vacation visits make pets happy because they can stay at home in their comfortable environment when you go away. Your pet can stay on its regular schedule and get individualized TLC. Most dogs do okay with 2-3 visits per day and most cats do okay with 1-2 visits per day. You know your pet best and you make the decision on how many visits your pet would be comfortable with.
Midday walks are needed for dogs whose humans are too busy or are unable. Long hours at work, elderly, pregnant, or just don't feel like walking your dog are all reasons you should have one of our energetic animal lovers to come and walk your dog for you. Most midday walks are between 10:30am - 3pm, but this is our full-time job and we will walk your dog whenever you need us to.

We were left disappointed by our experience with Quality Time. Our instructions, which were unfortunately verbal (lesson learned!), were left largely ignored. Our puppy was not crated during the day as instructed, something we learned only because we returned home early and cancelled their last visit. We returned to a home with an uncrated puppy and plenty of "puppy damage" throughout our home. Additionally, and most upsetting, our neighbor stopped me after we returned home to tell me she was happy and relieved that we had found our puppy; he had been loose in her backyard while we were gone and she could not catch him.
When I told the owner, Marie, what happened a few weeks later when she came by our home for payment, she was appropriately upset and refused payment, each of the four times i offered her a check. She called me later that same evening to tell me she had checked with our pet sitter and 1- our puppy had not been crated when he first arrived (false, our puppy was in his crate ) and 2- there had been no crate (false).
She did not address our puppy being loose in our neighborhood. She told me she would call me back and did not. She did not answer my calls or reply in full to my texts. Late the next evening we received an email from Marie claiming no knowledge of crating during the day and a reiteration that our puppy was not only uncrated when the pet sitter first arrived but that there had been no crate in our home until the sitter unpacked and set up the pen that arrived the day we left (it is true that a larger pen was delivered the day we left but there was also our puppy's crate). Marie claimed that we said the puppy was to only be crated at night (false). Additionally she insinuated that my neighbor was lying about our puppy having gotten out of the house and loose in downtown Annapolis. Marie refuses to speak with us and instead is invoicing us with regularity.
She claimed the fact that we did not complain to her when we first returned home- a decision we made because we wanted a face to face conversation, not one over text or email- is the reason for her unclarity. Customer, beware. Our dogs were not well cared for and our puppy was loose in downtown Annapolis under their care. Marie shows no accountability and refuses to engage in an adult conversation with us so that we can come to a resolution.
We have decided, despite her refusal initially to receive payment and the fact that our puppy was not safe in their care, to pay Marie in full just so that we can move on from this upsetting experience.

As an independent woman, it's nice to have a petsitter on call and not have to beg family/friends. Scheduling was easy. Ruth left detailed reports about which cats were eating and socializing. (I have two social cats and a shy guy who took a while to warm up to her.) I came home to three happy, relaxed cats. No one seem traumatized or starved for attention, which meant I was able to decompress after my travels as well. Would definitely call them again.

Absolutely love Quality Time! I'm a former dog walker and this company meets and exceeds all my expectations! Making appointments is super easy and their price is reasonable. Ruth has been our pet sitter and I always feel comfortable leaving my cats in her care. She is a super warm person who I knows really cares about our little pets! My pets love her too - it's like a treat when they get to see her! She always leaves notes and will text if she needs anything! I'm super happy with their service and highly recommend them to anyone.
