Our first visit to Gulf Gate was really great! My dog Boo is very anxious about being at the vet. The doctor was willing to come out to our van in the parking lot to examine Boo in his favorite place. Gulf Gate is definitely our preferred vet!

Dr. Christina has cared for my kitties for many years, always with skill and compassion. She is thorough and treats my babies as if they are her own! For their annual appointment, I always come away with a kitty "report card" so I can remember the details of their visit. From the front office, to the caring vet techs, to the overall cleanliness of this wonderful neighborhood treasure, they certainly deserve my five stars!

I have been coming to Gulf Gate Animal Hospital since 2004. I can always count on the Vets and staff to take great care of my family. Very compassionate, and they go above and beyond to solve every problem that pops up. I drive 50 minutes each way just to make sure I get the best care available for my babies.

I have been coming to Gulf Gate Animal Hospital since my dog was a puppy (going on 9 years now). He is a complicated boy who has had a lot of health problems, and Dr. Christina and Kari have been nothing but kind and helpful throughout all of his surgeries and medical issues. They treat my dog like he is family and are always able to squeeze us in when he has an emergency.

I think their pricing is reasonable and comparable to other vets I've used in different cities I have lived in. I appreciate Dr. Christina, Kari and the staff at Gulf Gate Animal Hospital beyond words for the care they take of my boy and would recommend them to anyone

I was able to get an appointment at n the same week for a new 15 month old puppy. The technician was thorough, and Dr Whitcomb was thorough in explaining the diagnosis after checking her out. A hidden gem, right off IS 41

Thru personal experience, I would not recommend this veterinary clinic for my pet. I have been with them since 2012. Up to 2020 I was generally happy but then I started feeling that they weren't as interested in the welfare of my pets as they were in the charges. This feeling was confirmed with my latest dog last week Saturday. They charged an exorbitant fee and sent him home with several medications.

Over the weekend my dog did not improve and on Monday I had to take him to an emergency clinic where the decision was made to euthanize him. Worst part is that I now feel guilty because he suffered 3 days unnecessarily. RA

BEST. EVER. I don't think I could possibly rave about my experience with the entire staff at Gulf Gate Animal Hospital enough to truly give them the credit they deserve. I've been to many, many vets in the surrounding area because Ive had many pets and I also foster for various organizations. Never have I felt so welcome, supported, accommodated and impressed.

Not only do they have the equipment and experience to carry out many various difficult procedures that a lot of vets simply can't do, but they also do so at very affordable prices. Not only do they try and accommodate me whenever I'm having an emergency, but they are also extremely compassionate and responsive. Not only did they correctly figure out things in hours that it took other vet hospitals days to figure out, but they also did so without many invasive tests that stressed out my pet and cost me thousands of dollars. Seriously, I could go on and on. I'm convinced this is the best place for your pets. I finally feel like I can trust that my furry little loved one is in the best hands possible.

I brought my Yorkie in for a blatter infection and was charged $68.68 for an antibiotic that was to be taken twice a day for 14 days. I ran out of the antibiotic 2 days early and when I went back to get the 2 days of medicine they shorted me, they wanted forty something more dollars. I explained that I followed the dosage exactly as prescribed and should not have to pay more money for medicine I already paid for.

They refused to do the right thing and give me the remaining 2 days of antibiotics and said that "they don't just give medication away" even though it was their fault for not giving me the right amount to begin with. Needless to say, I was very disappointed with Gulf Gate Animal Hospital and will not be returning.

We are on vacation from NC. Our Dachshund was not well, having issues walking. We called the Vet and they got us in 2 hours later. We were met by 2 friendly receptionist and met with Ryan and Dr Christina within 15 minutes of our arrival. Their bedside manner was excellent, we felt that they truly cared for our dog. The Dr's prognosis was a pinched nerve for which she prescribed 3 medications.

My wife and I were extremely happy with our visit. The dog seems happier too. Would recommend this veterinary clinic if asked. Keep up the great work! Your service to us today really made a difference! Also, the bill was Very reasonable.

The best animal hospital in SRQ. They are incredible, and when my puppy passed away this summer, and we were going in multiple times a week, they treated me with such kindness and compassion. Other than a close friend, they were really the only ones that knew what we were going through, so in a way they felt like family. They treated my baby like a celebrity.

I now have another puppy and I didn't even think twice about going here, and I recommend to everybody I know to go here. They have such a genuine love for animals and create such wonderful relationships with their clients.

Just wanted to say thank you for the wonderful care received by Oreo from Dr. Jeanette and Ryan (?) the vet tech this morning. They made a senior dog feel comfortable and secure during today's first exam and workup and he is a much happier boy after his nail trim and checkup! We will bring him by for a follow up once he has his first groom and is looking all spiffy. Thank you again so much!

Dr. Ed and staff have been extremely helpful in bringing my dog back to 100%. He is very knowledgeable and listens to you. The listening part is very important as it allows him to really get all of the information he might need to help his diagnosis and care of your pet. He also understands that vet care is expensive and will present reasonable options.

You know a vets office is good when the animals aren't freaking out and go willingly with vet techs and doctors. I've seen it with other dogs when I've been there so I know it's not just my dog that loves it there.

Gulf Gate Animal Hospital has by far the best vets in Sarasota. This is verified by surgical outcomes, which are far and away better than any local clinic. The facility and state-of-the-art medical equipment is top notch and the staff are wonderful. As a bonus, their fee schedules are also much more reasonable than any competitor.

Our little Yorkie (Tessa) suddenly developed a weird skin irritation on her belly unlike anything seen before. Of course this always happens on a weekend so called around and GGAH scrambled to fit us in early Monday morning -in spite of this not really being a serious emergency. To us, especially my wife, it was worrisome though and we really appreciated someone else caring enough.

The staff here clearly love their jobs working with critters of all kinds. Dr. Cole examined, diagnosed and prescribed treatment giving us immediate peace of mind. He was happy to take the time to discuss the causes and answer any questions we had and cared enough to schedule a follow-up appointment to make sure things improve. Tessa is a registered emotional support animal to my wife and her wellbeing is our wellbeing. To pet owners that love their little buddies, these people care too.

Drs. Cole have been taking wonderful care of my miniature schnauzers for more than a decade. Each dr is great and the staff provides exceptional service. Gulf Gate Animal Hospital employs 13 full-time and two part-time employees. There are four Veterinarians, including Co-owners Drs. Ed and Jeanette Cole. Significantly, the other two Veterinarians, Dr. Christina Whitcomb and Dr. Marcie Burn, are each former Technicians of the hospital. According to Dr. Ed, seven employees of the hospital have gone on to enter veterinarian schools.

Gulf Gate Animal Hospital was not our regular vet but they we're able to see my cat quickly in an emergency, life threatening situation. They quickly and accurately diagnosed the problem. Their communication and customer service is amazing. Dr. Cole even took time out of his Sunday to check on my cat after he was sent home. Hopefully we won't need a vet again for awhile but if we do, we will definitely be taking our pets to Dr. Cole.

I called in the early AM on a Saturday to get them to call my regular vet to refill my dogs prescriptions. The left without doing that. My dog will go without heart medication until Monday. In the interim, I got a call from Dr. Cole who told me I should have gotten my facts straight before leaving this review. He cited his facility called my vet and let them know of my dogs medication regimen.

I never got a call GG saying they did what they were supposed to. They can make a call telling me how wrong I was but not to say, the other vet was informed of the medication change?

They were able to see my cat minutes before closing on a Saturday, and stayed to help her and administer treatment well after hours. Everyone on staff was excellent to me and my animal. Pricing was more than fair and they provided a treatment plan with all cost estimates prior to administering them. Very professional

I'm impressed with this hospital/vet. We are new to the area and one of my cats has chronic allergies that require regular visits for steroid shots. He's so terrified of the vet that we usually have to sedate him to examine him. GGAH was excellent, understanding and they managed to examine him without sedation. Additionally, they proposed a different treatment that I can possibly administer myself, meaning fewer vet visits and a less terrified cat. Considering that he's been having to go for a shot every two months or so for eight years, this should improve the quality of his life significantly. I liked our previous vet and was a little anxious about making a change, but I'm delighted to say GGAH has surpassed my expectations.

I would like to again write to say how impressed I am with the compassion and care the veterinarians and staff show here. My kitty once again had a urinary blockage, this time more serious than the last. It required me taking him in several times after the initial treatment, once at 8pm on Sunday night. The fact that Kate would meet us at the clinic after hours melts my heart, just knowing how much she cared.

And with all my phone calls, questions, and additional visits, I expected then to think I was crazy and lose patience with me. But they never did. Andy is healthy once again, thanks to the wonderful doctors at Gulf Gate Animal Clinic. Thank you thank you thank you!
