Optimum Aquarium

One of the best Aquarium stores to go to, staff are super helpful although it can get busy and be hard to find one whose not already helping someone. But it's a testament to how good this store is.

I loved this store. Garrett and the entire staff were very friendly and helpful. Beautiful display tanks. They had amazing corals and saltwater livestock. Fair prices too! Coming back Sunday to set up a fresh water community tank.

I purchased 2 corydoras from them a couple days ago. Didn't realize until I got home with them that they both have fin rot. Both fish have damaged top fins and one has a damaged tail fin, as well as damaged barbells. Also I tested the water they were bagged in and it had a ridiculously high nitrite rating. They are currently in separate quarantine tanks until I think it's safe to put them with the rest of my corydoras. I would just recommend being cautious when buying. Research the warning signs if a fish has any health problems so you don't end up with fish that dies after a few days.

Beautiful store with so much to chose from! We had no idea what we needed or what we were looking for Nick was extremely helpful and informative! He gave us some great tips and helped us find exactly what we needed!

I went in to order a tank and stand. The first gentleman I worked with was great. He got all my info and said he would contact the owner and let me know on final price and ETA. I waited 4 days and called back and spoke to a different person. I asked if I could leave my contact info and have someone get back to me on the tank. He said no and that if they could have gotten the tank they would have called me back.

He then told me I should go to another fish store and hung up on me. I emailed the owner about the issue and he quickly got back to me. He said he would address the problem and also find out about the tank and get right back to me. It's been two weeks and he has not returned an email or phone call. There are lots of other great stores in the area.

As their sales rep told me you should shop at them. Responding to owners response. As I told you I thought after 2 weeks of no response not even that you were still looking you had moved on. As for me getting mad and hanging up because the person did not know about the tank that is false. The gentlemen refused to take my information down and told me if it were him he would talk to another shop because if you could have gotten me a tank it would have come in that week.

Great place! I'm looking at starting my salt water tank again the staff was nice huge selection great price. The store was clean. They resell items so that can be a plus. But will be going there again they made the process supper easy. And now I can buy salt water which is another plus. Great place hands down!

I moved here from Oregon over 3 years ago. I love my fishes very much. This is one of my main stops to get fish when one passes. For the last 3 years I would have giving a five star rating. The only reason why I gave it four stars is. On January 28, 2022, I purchase a Black Ghost Knifefish. He was a little bigger then what I a used to getting. No problem there.

The bag the employee put him in was a little on the small size. My fish could not be upright in the bag. He was laying flat in the bag. We travel from Ellijay. This was the first time in decades that I was very nervous about a ride home with a fish. The fish made it is just fine. I wish the Optimum Aquarium had different sizes in bags. Not all fish are the same size.

The whole staff at the store is great and friendly for a store that stays quiet busy they manage to make their away around to everyone who needs help or has a question. It may take them some time to due to them handling multiple questions and the amount of traffic in the store but, it's worth the wait when someone begins to help you you get their undivide attention for the duration of your visit.

I had the pleasure of being assisted by Nick he was extremely helpful and knowledgeable and went above and beyond to assist me including checking out the tank I had purchased from another business and making sure we could get it up to specs for my needs. He also took the time to walk me through the step step by step process of what I needed how to do it on a budget and that it would take more time but would be cheaper to use certian products he was very personable and friendly and a consummate professional and made both of my experiences top notch. Trust me when I say this is the place you wanna shop for any saltwater aquarium needs you may have the prices are great and the staff is amazing!

Very happy with everything I have received from them have only had a few casualties that were probably fault of my own. I have dealt with the same guy since day one. He's always friendly and knows what he's talking about. Always recognizes me when I come in. And I always very helpful with everything. I go back to get my fish there more instead of going to the one closer to me I go there too but prefer here. Would recommend

I have spent over 2000$ at this store over the last ten years, which in the aquarium hobby may not seem like a lot, but regardless I have supported this story for over a decade on and off. I recently purchased an aquarium from this store along with a few products. The staff is very unavailable and is not very helpful they are also hard to find. Their freshwater stock aquariums are constantly covered with algae, along with multiple dead fish in their stock tanks and algae-covered plants for sale.

The service at this store has completely diminished along with the quality of their product. This store's freshwater display aquariums used to be beautiful, but it seems like the care that used to be provided to the tanks is no longer there, with overgrown plants and algae growing on the large showroom tanks. I recently made a trip to Premier Aquatics and was stunned at the difference between this store and optimum; the stores are not too far apart. Hence, it is worth it to visit their shop; the store is much more organized, with many beautiful display tanks and a wide variety of healthy aquarium fish and plants!
