Agius Pet Service My name is Dorothy and I am the owner of Agius' Pet Services. The following gives a brief description of my family, how I acquired my knowledge and the services I plan to offer in the near future. Life at the Agius-Bennett residence is exciting -and in abundance. My husband and I are blessed with the presence of three canine friends (Vinny, Brigit & Angus), three feline friends (Bowie, Rosie & Frankie) and lastly our guinea pig, Oreo.

Being one who has the pleasure of sharing life with such adorable creatures, I understand the importance of knowing that the little darlings are getting the best care available while my husband and I are away from home.
Services
Do you dread going away on business or pleasure because your loved one(s) may not be able to accompany you. In todays world it is difficult to burden family and friends with the care of your special friend(s). Does your heart break when you think of kenneling your loving and loyal pet--images of a sad and, many times, frightened little face(s) looking out upon the world through bars! The cold and unfamiliar place where he or she can be subjected to emotional trauma and/or diseases from other animals.
I have 2 six year old Shih-Tzu dogs who I refer to as my "babies". Dorothy has been my dog walker/trainer/sitter since my babies were 4 months old. I do not trust people easily when it comes to my babies. Dorothy is one of only 2 people walking this earth that I trust to take care of my babies on a daily basis and when I am out of town.

Dorothy's magnificent care of my critters continues. Blaze is still delighted every time he hears her van pull up in our driveway and he can't wait to go on his 2- or 3-mile hike with Dorothy and the pack. I can't say enough good things about this amazing woman and her ability to work with dogs of all sizes, shapes, and temperaments.

Dorothy is the "be all and end all" for pet sitting in San Diego. We started working with her when our puppies were barely three months old. She picks the "kids" up every morning, takes them for a long walk with the "pack", anywhere in between 10 and 14 dogs, and brings them back, exhausted, in the afternoon. Our puppies love their "Aunt Dorothy".They literally squeal with delight when they hear her arriving to take them out.

We also use Dorothy for pet/house sitting when we travel and they love their "slumber parties" with Dorothy's dogs, Angus and Brigit. Yogi and BuBu are growing up to be well mannered, well socialized dogs thanks in particular to Dorothy and the love, compassion and good training tips she shows them every day. There's no pet sitter that even comes close to Dorothy as far as we (and our puppies) are concerned.

If you are looking for Pet Services - look no more - she is it - you hit the jackpot. The whole package - incredibly responsible - check; wonderfully caring - check; vastly knowledgeable - check, reasonably priced - check; understanding, flexible, great with people, etc etc. I rarely write reviews, but often read them, so with Dorothy i just feel impelled to tell the world about her.

Every once in a great while you meet a person who somehow has not let the world get to her - who has such a pure heart and astonishingly giving personality that you almost cant believe it at first. Dorothy is just like that. Her care for animals (and people) goes so much farther than any person i know - and her giving nature is something you rarely see in such a responsible, straight forward person nowadays.

She cared for my elderly Aussie, Syd, like she was her own dog - and i really mean that - Dorothy loved my doggie, and treated her like one of her own - not just like some dog she walked for her business. I Had her come to my house 5 days a week for a "half- hour" walk. Half-hour is in quotes because invariably she would have Syd out way longer than that - mostly taking her to beautiful parks in the area - not just for walks around the neighborhood.

For all of those times - never a mess up or hiccup at all - just amazing service. Many times i would last-minute Dorothy to ask if she could grab Syd at this time or that - and she would always be there for me. You see, you may just need a dog walker or sitter, but you're really getting so much more. Dorothy is a great dog trainer (a dog whisperer, if you will) and has a deep knowledge of dog psychology, pack behavior, nutrition, and dog-owner training.

She has devoted her life to it. In the end, just before my sweet girl Syd passed, Dorothy was with with me every step of the way. She offered me gentle advice, and loving compassion that helped me through my great loss and most difficult time. I can go on and on, but suffice it to say that i feel lucky not just to have hired her as friend to Syd, but i feel lucky to know Dorothy at all - she is truly a great person.

I've known Dorothy for many years. She used to care for my two older cats when I travelled. She is now walking/training/caring for my four month old puppy along with a pack of several other dogs each day while I'm at work. At the end of the day I return to a well-exercised, well-socialized, fed, and happy puppy. At four months old, she walks on a leash like a pro and obeys (most of the time) commands like sit, down, stay, slow down, wait, and stop, and she's learning more every day.

When I walk her down the street, she trots along next to me and holds her head high. Passersby are constantly stopping me to tell me what a cute and well-behaved puppy she is. I like to think we've had a hand in training her, but I think most of that has happened because she is learning from Dorothy and the other dogs, two of which are Dorothy's own, and all of which are well cared for and well-behaved and teaching my puppy the ropes.

I don't think I could have gotten the same results if I were home all day and focused on training, and I often have to work long hours. Dorothy's services are invaluable and she will love and care for your pet as if he/she were her own.

We have used Dorothy for both walking our dog Belle and boarding her when we needed a safe, loving environment. We cannot say enough good things about how much love and attention we have seen Dorothy provide to our dog and the others in her care. Her love of all animals shows through her wonderful nature and great knowledge. She is also a phenomenal artist who has beautiful paintings of pets as well. We and our dog Belle have been blessed to know Dorothy and highly recommend her services.

My husband and I have been madly in love with our blue Great Dane, Stella, since she was a puppy. So, we knew we had very high standards when it came to a dog sitter for our dog blue. When Stella was 6 months old, we had the good fortune of meeting Dorothy through friends who shared our high standards for their pup. From that moment on, we have thanked our lucky stars everyday for Aunt Dorothy's presence in our lives. Aunt Dorothy cares for Stella as if Stella were one of her own.

On the rare occasion when we drop Stella off at Dorothy's house, it is clear Stella loves Dorothy in return. Stella bounds out of the car straight for Dorothy's front door and doesn't look back! Dorothy's home is Stella's second home. My husband and I recently got married and left for several weeks on our honeymoon. We trusted none other than Dorothy to care for Stella while we were gone.

Never once were we concerned about Stella's well being. In fact, when we got back Stella looked fitter and behaved better then when we left her. Dorothy does all the little things that sets her apart from other pet sitters: daily journal entries, boo boo alerts, antisocial behavior alerts and she is the provider of lots of LOVE. Because of Dorothy, we have a socially well-adjusted, intellectually stimulated and physically fit dog. You don't know what that means to a 5'2 woman with a 125 lb. dog.

I needed a dog walker but I was not going to trust anyone with her. So I started looking for a good person and a good service. I met Dorothy Agius at the Grape Street dog park one day and she was so respectful with her dogs that I asked her if she could handle one more dog, mine. Dorothy is the owner of Agius Pet Services. My dog is deaf and requires special handling. Dorothy was actually excited about the challenge.

That was 5 years ago and during that time Dorothy has picked up my Daffy Dog 3 days per week and taken her to the park with her pack. I can't even describe how happy Daffy is when she sees Dorothy. She LOVES Dorothy and Dorothy loves her as well. I have 100% trust in Dorothy and the services that her company, Agius Pet Services, offer. Her prices are very reasonable and she is a very nice, thoughtful and interesting person. Dorothy is an artist.

She paints beautiful portraits of animals. She's painting a large canvas of my girl and I can't wait to hang it on my wall. So if you need pet services and/or you want a portrait of your buddy I highly recommend Agius.
