We couldn't be happier with the care our dogs receive when we are away. The updates after each visit not only give us piece of mind but a little smile at the picture that comes with. Alexandria Pet Care is a very professionally run business and any question I might have is answered promptly. They have been there for us for the last 2 years whenever we have to leave town and I hope they always will be.

We have been using Alexandria Pet Care for years (typically when we go on vacation) and we cannot speak more highly of the positive experience and reliability. There is a very noticeable degree of care given, both to our pet but also to make us feel comfortable that she is taken care of while we are away. The owners are truly wonderful and caring people. This service is a tremendous value to our family and we would highly highly recommend it.

Alexandria Pet Care is great! Absolutely dependable, thoroughly professional, and great with animals. We never hesitate to leave our two cats in their care when we travel, and get lots of updates and pictures that reassure us that they are well cared for when we are away. They also pick up mail, papers and parcels, turn off and on porch lights, and generally make sure that our house looks "lived in." Great company.

I used Alexandria Pet Care for 2 walks per day for our puppy and they were fantastic. They provide a description and pictures for every visit. The walkers were very friendly and enjoyed visiting with my puppy. I would recommend them to anyone looking for dog walkers in their service area.

Alexandria Pet Care is the top-notch standard all pet care businesses should be measured against! I picked them based on reviews here on Yelp, and was absolutely blown away by their professionalism, attention to detail, knowledge, and business operation. Communication with the team is impeccable. I was impressed by the intake interview, it was clear each member was experienced with all types of pets, as well as the area.

They asked all the right questions, and were clearly paying attention to instructions. The pet portal website they use is great for making sure you can leave instructions and information, contact info, etc. It is easy to use, access, and understand. It was extremely easy to schedule a visit and pay the invoice afterwards. I took a business trip for 2 days, and was highly impressed.

The team showed up when promised, paid attention to feeding instructions, and took extra time to play with and comfort my cat while I was away. They provided a photo and visit feedback promptly. They had no issues accessing my building and dealing with the front desk for keys, which I appreciated. Additionally, I noticed that they took the time to wash bowls and didn't leave any trash (stinky cat food cans or litter); they even folded the kitchen hand towel.

My apartment was always left secure and clean, and my cat was happy, healthy, and loved while I was gone. I will certainly recommend Alexandria Pet Care to anyone in need of someone to watch over their furkids!

This business looked great from reviews, but I reached out to them, and they never responded. I think the business is either closed, or they're extremely slow to respond (neither of which is good).

We have been using Alexandria Pet Care for the past year and they have been great. Andy took care of our cat this past week and he did a great job. The front office is very responsive and their website is very easy to use with scheduling visits and paying invoices.

The Alexandria Pet Care team are amazing! I've been working with them for several years now, as they are the best to care for my two kitties when I'm not there. They are so supportive and responsive, always being flexible to meet my needs and helping out in a pinch when needed. I love the on-line portal, which allows me to communicate with the team, they can update me easily on any issues, and best of all, they post pictures of the cats which makes me smile when I'm missing them.

I also appreciate that they take care to bring in mail, water plants, and just look after the house - especially appreciated during long visits. So grateful for their support!

I cannot speak highly enough about the professionalism and heart of APC and the sitters it employs. I was a faithful APC customer for 4 years (both of my cats have since passed) and always had the best experience. From the front office to the sitters themselves, APC is first rate! They always responded to scheduling requests within 24 hours and their online scheduling and payment system is easy to use.

Andy, Stephanie, and Elizabeth did a great job taking care of my two dogs last week. They did a nice job adapting to new procedures due to COVID to ensure everyone's safety when first meeting me and my dogs who are a bit nervous when first meeting people. After our meetings I felt comfortable leaving my dogs in their care while I was out of town. They followed all directions I left for the team and my dogs.

I really enjoyed the updates during my trip including the pictures. Elizabeth and her team did a great job of helping me not worry about my dogs while I was away. I highly recommend Alexandria Pet Care!

We had a wonderful experience with Alexandria Pet Care and are very pleased with their services! We left our cats in their care for five days during a holiday weekend, during which we got updates for each visit and were able to see the times they visited, all of which were within timeframes requested. They also sent cute pictures and went above and beyond in every way.

We've been using Alexandria Pet Care for the past year and a half. They are extremely organized and reliable. We don't need walking everyday, but periodically based on our work schedules/short trips. They do an excellent job of communicating during/after walks and they are much more professional than other dog walking companies we've used.

I like that they always have a new employee tag along with a familiar walker for your pet, so your dog is never seeing someone for the first time on their own. The service is a little more expensive than we've laid previously but we feel its worth the quality of service.

I have used Alexandria Pet Care for midday dog walking for over 5 years - initially with a very senior dog and more recently, for my young high energy terrier. Alex Pet Care has been just great with- professional & responsible; always there as scheduled, will let me know if something is amiss and just wonderful in handling my pup. He's happy to see Laura and she helps me by reinforcing his basic training. Alexandria Pet Care is the best in Alexandria.

I cannot say enough good things about Alexandria Pet Care! They are a team of professionals that have made my life, and my 3 dogs lives, so much better. Elle and Andy are two of their highly trained, top-level professionals who have not only given my dogs expert care but have shown empathy and uncommon grace to our entire family. I don't use the word often, but these two people (backed by the fantastic office staff and Elizabeth, APC's owner) have been nothing short of a blessing to us all. We hired Alexandria Pet Care for a training package for my dog. Alex is a FANTASTIC dog trainer. Despite my dog's skittish tendencies, Alex was always calm and knew exactly how to handle her. His recommendations for training and situating our space have been a lifesaver, and a money-saver.since our dog no longer wants to chew everything in sight. I highly recommend Alex and the team at Alexandria Pet Care. Their customer service is responsive, and helpful. I found their prices to be slightly competitive for our area.

Alexandria Pet Care has been so helpful for our dog. We scheduled 4 in home one-on-one sessions for our newly adopted puppy last year and it was so helpful for her. She was reactive towards other dogs and people but after just one session our dog made so much progress. Alex, the trainer, also taught us the best way to help with her anxiety and how to continue making progress with her after our 4 sessions were completed. Alex has also been helpful answering questions via email since our sessions have ended, and at no charge.

Super friendly staff. They hire caretakers with prior dog experience. Their service includes an easy to use online portal where you can see what they did during the visit, as well as make payments. The only reason I didn't give five stars is because they are a little pricey, and they charge a weekend premium. Overall, very satisfied customer!

This pet sitting service has been amazing, I don't have to worry about my cat while I am away. They are well worth every penny! Previously, I had used a different pet sitting service and had a terrible experience over the 2017 holiday season. I was very put off with the idea of using another pet service, but needed to due to future travel plans.

I am so pleased we found APC. I love the fact that they come to your home, meet your pet, and introduce themselves before using their service for the first time. My little furball is timid and shy, and does not like new people. APC has used the same sitter the three or so times we have used their service over the past year and a half. I appreciate the same sitter coming back, my cat is more likely to come out and interact if she is familiar with the person.

They also leave you a detailed report of what time they came, what they did, and what your pet did during the visit. I always look forward to coming home and reading my fur babies report card. They have truly been a blessing since I know my kitty is in good hands while I'm away :

I trust the people here. That's all I can say. My husband and I have been using them over the years and they have never let us down. We don't need a pet sitter that often, but when we do they are always spot on. Our last dog was elderly and sick and there were times when we needed special care for her, or even had to cancel at the last minute because she was too sick for us to travel.

I know I am a pain in the neck sometimes, and I have upset some of the scheduling staff here and there, but the one thing I know is that they are a trustworthy group and worth every penny.

Alexandria Pet Care is by far one of the best pet sitting services out there--I would recommend them to anyone, but especially if you have pets with medical issues. The fact that all employees have some kind of veterinary experience was what really made up my mind to use them in the first place. I used APC many times over the past year for my 2 senior cats, one of whom is a diabetic and needs insulin.

From the very beginning, Laura put me at ease and I felt confident she could handle any potential medical problems that could come up. (Also loved that the people who came to my in-home consultation were the ones who did the actual pet sitting.) I never had a problem booking a stay, and appreciated the daily notes that would greet me when I got back home. I've since moved away from Alexandria, but will definitely use them again if I ever move back to the area.

Alexandria Pet Care was an outstanding experience from for me and my very fussy and anxious cat Lola, who upon returning home from my 5 day trip I found her very happy and loved all thanks to the amazing sitters that treated her so well! On prior trips I've been on I have come home to an anxious cat who has either peed or pooped on the beds in my home and who is clearly stressed.

Not this time the Alexandria Pet Care Team came for the in-house consultation and were very detailed oriented and professional in both asking questions about my cat as well as my living space. They also presented me with their animal Care credentials and the President of the company came to my visit as well, which I was very impressed with! This company clearly has a lot of heart and Care behind their work and I would highly recommend them to any animal owners in Alexandria.

When one of my two cats began needing heart medication 2x a day, I needed a pet care service when I was recently away for 6 nights (automated feeder worked well before). My pets are like my children and I did thorough research to find the best care possible for them while I was gone. I chose APC and couldn't be more at ease about how they were taken care of.

The notes that were left about each visit were great (it would be even better if they were emailed each day!) and I really appreciated the effort that was made to make sure they were happy. The forms you're required to fill out are detailed which I liked so I knew they were getting as close to their normal schedule of eating/activity/food as possible. Officially my go-to pet sitter!

Anna G.'s 7/15/2014 incendiary review of Alexandria Pet Care led me to confidently hire them to care for my beloved 19 year-old Wonder-Cat. My logic isn't twisted; I didn't hire a company based on a negative review. In fact, the review was not negative; the author of the review was negative. Anna G. indelibly castigated a small business owner, Elizabeth, because she phoned/wrote Anna G. in an attempt to redress her complaints.

That bears repeating because the behavior that infuriated Anna G. is the very behavior that experts agree excellent customer service is predicated on. I don't know Elizabeth or Anna G. personally. I couldn't pick either of them out of a line up, but I am a CRM academic and professional that can analyze reviews expertly. I was impressed that Elizabeth took the appropriate measures to redress an unhappy customer and protect her brand. Elizabeth and her team continued to impress me as animal lovers.

The women that cared for my Wonder-Cat came over in advance to meet me and the Wonder-Cat. They provided an overview of their business and wanted to learn all about my Wonder-Cat's habits, health, her hiding spots, what soothes her.they prepared to care for my cat exactly as I do. Every day that my cat was visited by a sitter, they created a daily log (attached).

The sitter even called me the first day to let me know that they were able to successfully enter my home and tend to the Wonder-Cat. Her litter was scooped daily but they didn't leave it my trash; it was disposed of outside my apartment. They gave the Wonder-Cat her medicine; they turned her heating pad on low to soothe her arthritic legs, and they spent time just hanging out and loving on her.

In advance of my departure I filled out a pet profile (attached) thus I was confident that if there was an emergency that Alexandria Pet Sitters were thoroughly prepared to handle it. I've called on Alexandria Pet Care several times and they are always available and eager to help me, even last minute; they set my mind at ease when I am far from home and my Wonder-Cat.

Dear Elizabeth, It is very inappropriate and unprofessional to keep bothering former customers due to their posting an honest review about your services. You have to understand that we pay you, not vice versa, and you work for us, not vice versa. Harassment in the form of multiple unnecessary phone calls and e-mails is not a way to regain trust; it is, however, a good way to get reported to the police.

We have never complimented your services, except when we had hired you a few years ago. Unfortunately, things have changed to the worse since then. You market yourself as pet sitting professions; let alone pet sitting skills, or to be exact their complete lack thereof, it is extremely unprofessional to lie to and about your customers and try to turn things around as if it were somehow their fault when it was really yours.
