We have 3 younger dogs and the LOVE their time at Lucky Dog. We also love Bonnie who treats all of the dogs as she would her own and truly loves and cares about them. The dogs are so happy when they go there, and they get a lot of good exercise that helps greatly on their days off. Would strongly recommend to anyone considering!

We've been taking our dog here for the past 4 years. I thought it was time to finally write a review. When we first moved from the West Loop to Avondale, I was nervous about finding an affordable and caring spot to send my dog for daycare. From day 1 the owner, Bonnie, has been a genuine, loving, and wonderful person to not only the dogs, but the people as well.

My dog who normally shook and dreaded going to his old daycare was suddenly excited and rushing to the car each morning. Bonnie takes the time to develop a relationship with each dog and they all adore her and the staff. Lucky Dog is very affordable compared to other daycare pricing, opens at a reasonable hour so I can get to work on time, and my dog goes crazy just hearing me say Bonnie's name. I'm thankful to have such a great place to leave him during the day.

It pains me to write this review because Lucky Dog did help us out in a bind, but there were several concerning events that ultimately led us to remove our dog and place him in another daycare. The first concerning thing to us was there are A LOT of dogs in one room there and there doesn't seem to be a lot of structure, so it's kind of like a rambunctious dog park without a ton of supervision. Also, rather than going and sternly correcting undesired behavior, they yell at the dogs a lot.

He was a young, energetic puppy when he started going there, but he was always sweet and behaved very well with other dogs at the park. I knew there was nap time and the dogs were all kenneled for two hours a day, so we worked with him on being comfortable with a kennel at home and, although it was hairy at first, he became comfortable and kind of enjoyed crate time at home. However, I wasn't aware that they also would lock them in there for "time out" or to separate the dogs.

There were several times when we'd go to pick him up and he'd be locked in a crate. Over time he became resistant to his crate at home and it would make him anxious and ill behaved. One time, they called and asked us to come and get him and he was, again, locked in a crate. When they got him out of the crate, my husband said he was bitten by several dogs as he walked past them on the way to the door. Yes, he wasn't a perfect puppy, but he's been to dog parks dozens of times and he's been to other daycares hundreds of times and he's never had any problems at all.

Lucky Dog may be a good daycare for some dogs and I genuinely liked Bonnie. But if your dog needs structure, this isn't the place for them. I think there's a difference between having someone looking after your dog who loves dogs and someone who cares for dogs. It seems like a small thing, but it makes a big difference when it comes to managing dozens of dogs in one space.

Hands down the best daycare in Chicago! It's a family owned business and Bonnie is incredible. She's such a sweet woman who you can tell just genuinely loves dogs and what she does. I was a little skeptical at first, but our 11 month old Black Mouth Cur mix cannot get enough of it. We live across the street, and I swear to God, our dog would take himself there if we let him.

Once he realizes he's going to daycare, he becomes more excited than a kid in a candy shop. The best thing about this place outside of price and convenience is that they literally let the dogs run around for 12 hours a day non stop. So when we bring our guy home, he's exhausted and sleeps like a baby. I have a feeling even once we move from here, we'll still be driving to bring him to this spot. I would never take him anywhere else!

Our puppy loves it here! And they love her! Bonnie, the owner, and her whole staff care so much about dogs and look after each one as if it were their own. We trust them completely with our sweet pup. Couldn't ask for a better doggie daycare. They are flexible with pickup/dropoff, don't require reservation s for daycare (once the dog is registered), and are affordable, especially compared with other facilities. The care your dog will get here is priceless!

One of the most honest daycares out there. Bonnie loves her dog clients, and her business. She also works with rescues. No matter the dog, they will become family. A hard working doggy care and boarding place that truly does it for the passion. They offer daycare and boarding along with baths. It's like leaving your dog with family.

I love lucky dog! My boy is a very nervous and shy guy but he loves coming to Lucky Dog. The owner is always present, knows all of the dog's names, and is clearly a dog lover. There are places closer to where we live and with classier facades. And there are probably places with better facilities. But we won't take our dog anywhere but here, because we know he is loved and well cared for at Lucky Dog!

I love this place! My dog Lexie comes a couple times a weeks and loves going & hates having to come home. Bonnie and staff are wonderful. They are true dog lovers in every way! I always feel comfortable leaving her there for extended stays because I know she is being well taken care of. This place is always clean and rates are spectacular. Can't give enough compliments about this place!

I am very particular with whom I trust my dogs with. I've seen a lot of places and really do my homework. Dogs can't talk about their experience. I'm so thankful to have found this place. Bonnie and her team are true dog lovers and genuinely love working with them. I know they are in good hands and I highly recommend them!

Bonnie, the owner, is one of the nicest people I've ever met! She has a true passion for dogs, making sure every dog is having fun for their entire visit. My dog has always come back completely exhausted and is always thrilled when we get out of the car at Lucky Dog! I've had experiences with a few different facilities in Chicagoland and Indiana, and Lucky Dog is -- without a doubt -- the best boarding/daycare experience my dog and I have had!

I have to give Lucky Dog Pet Service 5 stars. This is 4th daycare to which i've brought my dog. Cost is low compared to places I took her when i lived in the suburbs, people who work there are ALWAYS friendly & kind & my dog is always excited to go there (which tells me all I need to know as to how she's treated). Bonnie is wonderful. I knew from the start she is a true dog-person & that's exactly who you want to leave your dog with! I have never had to board her there, so I can only speak for the daycare - which i highly recommend.

I've been going to Lucky Dog for 3 or 4 years now, and my dogs absolutely love it there. Not only do they know my dogs by name there, but the people who work there are genuinely excited to see then when we go. Bonnie the owner is wonderful - she loves all of the dogs who come to see her and she treats them like her own. Lucky Dog has fair prices, great people, and I trust them implicitly with my dogs. Whenever I pick my dogs up from there they come home happy and tired, which is the best way a dog can be.

My dogs Moose and Maisie go to Lucky Dog at least twice a week. Bonnie and her phenomenal staff know exactly what each dog needs and likes to do. My dogs simply love going there. We also board them there when we are out of town, and we can easily get updates on how they are doing by e-mailing or calling. I know from talking to Bonnie that she is extremely careful about the dogs she takes in for doggy daycare, and her staff is extremely vigilant about interactions between dogs.

I couldn't be more confident about their care if they were at home with me. (Additional note about the staff there: There is almost NO turnover. Some of our favorite staff members have worked there for YEARS. So it's not just the owner who knows the dogs intimately, but most of the staff, too.)

I have utilized several other day care/boarding/dog walking services in the past and have always had issues. From difficulties in working w/ the owner to my dog coming home filthy every day. Well, finally I have come upon the IDEAL place. The owner, Bonnie truly takes pride in her facility and you would have to be blind to not recognize her sincerity and compassion she has for the dogs.

Her staff is also very attentive and share the same caring attitude. Every morning when I turn the corner onto Elston, my dog Juno can barely contain her excitement. She goes through withdrawals on the weekend when she is at home. When I first adopted Juno, she had pretty bad stomach issues and Bonnie took the time to recommend and suggest the right foods for her.

Thanks to Bonnie's suggestion, it's been smooth sailing ever since! Since I travel for work occasionally, I have NEVER been more comfortable boarding her with out having to worry. Lucky Dog is where you want you're dog to be!

The employees love dogs. Bonnie, the owner, is a true dog lover. The facility is clean and offers both boarding and daycare. It has a small outdoor area - I would guess 30x30feet but is still nice for the dogs to be outside for a while. Each day there is a two hour nap time. I have noticed on days that are really busy (Thursday and Friday) my dog does come home a little stinky so I try to take her on slower days. I do wish they had a webcam so I could view my dogs play.

Bonnie, the owner, was kind enough to let us bring both of our dogs to check out the facility. Both of our dogs really enjoyed running around the day care area and Bonnie thoroughly explained their day care and boarding services to us. Also, Bonnie really cares about the dogs and our dogs took an immediate liking to her. So when it was time for us to go out of town, we had no doubt that we were going to board our dogs with Lucky Dog Pet Service.

Since our friend could only watch one of our dogs, we left Bruno to the caring hands of Bonnie and her staff. When we came back, Bruno looked happy and extremely exhausted from running around for 5 days straight and Bonnie took time to gave us a summary of Bruno's stay. We also love the fact that they board the dogs from New Leash On Life, where we adopted our other dog, Mazzy.

We started taking our large, hyper, mixed breed to lucky dog after a bad experience with our last doggie daycare facility (Chi town dog house) The owner of lucky dog (Bonnie) listened to our concerns and answered our questions. She and her staff are attentive and kind. You can tell they really love and care for the animals. The prices are very competitive and our dog always comes home happy and tired.

Clean, great hours, great price and nice owners. My dog loves it here. She doesn't want to leave. The best thing is that they have Sunday hours up to 7pm. Give this one a shot and see what you think. Street parking is easy too.

Milo Goes to Lucky Dog He loves it. I can just say the words and he starts bounding around the apartment. He goes to daycare about once a week, and then I get a night to myself, 'cause he is so happy and worn out. The place is small, but the help is plentiful. He sometimes comes home stinky but it is from the cleaning product (it is very clean there) and multiple dogs --and I think they do some grooming services for extra. Handy new Elston location is much easier: I ususally park at the hydrants with my flashers on.

They are closed between 12-2 pm for naps. There are also now some products to buy: treats and food, shampoos, collars and funny wooba toys. They will do doggie taxi if you need. Bonnie the owner is so wonderful, and you can really tell they all love animals. They always know Milo by name. You can buy a package deal to save some money too.

I followed Lucky Dog from their old location on Belmont to this new one, so that should say something. My sheepdog is always crazy excited to get in there when I drop him off, and utterly exhausted when I pick him up. They let the dogs play all day, except for a lunch break. The owner is on-site, and extremely accomodating (for instance, she waited for me when I ran about a half an hour late one night).

Also pretty reasonable rates. Boarding is $35 a night, and you can pick up your dog any time the next day (e.g., even in the late afternoon the following day). I'm very happy with Lucky Dog.

This is a very clean, friendly place to board your dog. I have had nothing but excellent experiences with Lucky Dog. The owner is very kind, and the employees are as well. I think they may have just moved from one location into this new location. see their website because it explains something about that.

Now if I were a dog I'd want to spend my master's vacation time here at Lucky Dog - it looks like a blast! The dogs are all running around out in the fresh air, there's a lot of open space, the caretakers have a great, down-to-earth attitude and eveyone seemed really happy. Bonnie Bloom, owner of Lucky Dog, has six dogs of her own and runs a reasonably-priced, open, and friendly business which shows in her repeat customer base.

Lucky Dog provides both daycare and boarding services. The facilities are set back off of Belmont Avenue in an old frame building. There's plenty of parking off the street which makes for an easier and safer transfer of your pet to your car. And the whole place feels more like it's out in the country rather than smack in the middle of the city! In my next life maybe I can be a dog!
