And I, in turn, passed along our family's passion for animals to my daughter. I guess you could say it's in our blood! It may be my name on the building, but Hagan's Pet Resort is truly a family-owned business, reflecting three generations of animal lovers. And I wouldn't have it any other way. That's what drove me to build a pet resort that surpassed any other boarding facility.
Our well-trained and loving staff dotes on your pets, night and day. Our love for animals is genuine and caring for them is how we thank them for giving us so much. Each of us participates in monthly education and training to keep us at the forefront of the pet-care field. From a young age I knew that I wanted to be a veterinarian, and so worked diligently towards my goal throughout high school. My work was rewarded with a place at the Royal Veterinary College in Edinburgh, in my home country of Scotland.
While your pets are staying with us, they'll be showered with lots of love, attention and care so you can rest easy knowing your "children" are in a clean, safe and fun environment. Whatever your pet's needs, chances are we have a room to accommodate them. Both our canine and feline guests enjoy temperature-controlled, sound-proofed accommodations that mirror the comforts of home. We even pipe in music to soothe their souls. Best of all, we have a loving and caring staff to attend to their every need during their stay.
Hagan's Pet Resort is truly a family business. Patriarch Dr. D.E. Huber, DVM, oversees the full-service veterinary clinic nestled within the resort itself. Dr. Huber has been caring for pets throughout Sarasota and Bradenton for more than 40 years. He was sidelined for a while, but was thrilled to return to practice alongside his son.

I wouldn't take our dog any where else. We live about 45 minutes away, and I am sure there are 30 or more vets in between. The staff has always been the best, as is Dr. Huber. They always take Buddha right away, never had to wait. We also use their boarding when we go out of town. An extremely caring staff. Our dog has some anxiety issues, so it is never easy taking him any where. However, the staff seems to make him comfortable. Thank you all!

AWFUL! Do not take your pet to this place. IT WILL GET SICK! My dog stayed there for 2 days. healthy, when we picked him up, we noticed that could not bark really well, and after few hours started coughing. Took him back to their clinic and the lady there was acting like she did not know and charged us $80 for the pills. Obviously they don't keep the place clean and disinfected as they should. They were not worried about my dog at all, was all about the money!

I have taken my year old dog to them for daycare, 4 times in the last month with no problems. The daycare and boarding staff is Awesome. When I needed to see the Vet I was turned away. They state "walk ins welcome " on their building, signage and website. However after submitting the online profile. They turned me away stating they are not taking new clients. They now have lost my business for boarding grooming and daycare. Very unprofessional!

We recently had our dog groomed here. They did an awesome job, were professional, and didn't try to press unnecessary puppy spa treatments like is way too common these days. The groom was affordable and well done. As for the staff, they were obviously knowledgeable about dog behaviors, understood leash reactivity, and instead of trying to drag my dog away when she was scared, they had her sit and watch me leave so she would call down. We will use them for all our future grooming sessions.

The staff is so rude, especially (and surprisingly) Dr. Huber. I am extremely disappointed in the attitude of the staff because this clinic has been so highly recommended to me for years! I've been living in Sarasota for almost 10 years and based on recommendations I thought to myself, "If I ever get a dog, I will bring it to Hagen's". So, my boyfriend and I finally got a dog and drove 30 minutes to get to Hagan's 15 minutes early for our appointment, just to be treated unkindly by most of the staff (except for one very nice and informative middle-aged man with brunette hair who gave us sign-in papers and led us to the exam room).
The lady who I set up the appointment with over the phone was nonchalant and impatient.that should have been my first clue. And then the receptionist who I saw upon walking into the establishment was rude. Her first words were not "Welcome to Hagen's. What's your name/do you have and appointment?". Rather, she said, "Do you guys have a dog?" I said, "Yes." She said, "Well you need to wait outside.".that was all. Dr. Huber himself was the most unkind of them all.
He was extremely dismissive, condescending and unkind. I was floored. He was with our dog for no more than 6 minutes and was the rudest doctor that I have ever come across. His first words upon walking into the room were, "Let's switch sides here; You're on my side of the table." to my boyfriend. His second sentence was "Did you bring the stool sample?".
We explained that no one told us to bring a stool sample, this was our very first dog, etc. He looked at the dog's ears with the otoscope, got verbally frustrated when the dog wiggled, checked the dog's genitals, etc and then pointed to the exit door saying "You have a healthy dog here. See the front desk about your next visit." Not once did he welcome us to his business or give us information or look us in the eyes or even smile!
This is our first dog and that was our first vet visit with that dog, and I don't want us to give them another penny. I'd rather spend more at another clinic (that is closer) than to drive 30 minutes away to deal with (and pay to deal with, for that matter) rude receptionists and rude vet for the next 10-15 years.no thanks! They seem to treat most of their clientele nicely and they get a lot of business, so I'm sure they won't be sad to lose us (or even notice that they lost us) as future customers.but whatever.
Perhaps they were ready to end their work day or judged us for some undeserved reason.in any event. I thoroughly hated my experience there (with the exception of our treatment by the One nice man)

Dr. Huber is a wonderful veterinarian. He solved a chronic issue our dog had for years that was never addressed up north. He has been very straightforward with what to expect with our breed and in a crisis saved our older dog. He is realistic, pragmatic and we have great confidence in his abilities and judgment. His staff is wonderful and the location is very convenient and clean.
