Tails In The City

If you have dogs and live in the area this is the place. Amazing staff very helpful and knowledgeable. After walking around this windy city I stumbled across this place. They had so many goodies it was hard to just pick one. So I got a nice little box of goodies because my dogs do deserve luxury!

This was such a cute place! A must for any pet owner of the city. I got my dog a scarf and it looks amazing.

We were visiting Chicago and wanted to pick up a special treat for our dogs. We found Tails in the City online and decided to try it out. Though the prices are much higher than we're used to, the items are high quality (and this is a luxury specialty store, keep in mind, so higher prices are to be expected) and the customer service is beyond exceptional!

They were even kind enough to offer for us to stay inside the store while we waited for our Lyft because it had started pouring rain. The only thing I didn't like was that it was impossible to shop on our own - a salesperson was ALWAYS right there, listening to our comments and jumping in with suggestions. This made me uncomfortable and did NOT make me want to buy more.

The store is small but spotless and extremely organized and the staff were friendly, if a bit overbearing. I would definitely recommend this store if you're looking for something posh for your pet.

Love love this wonderful pet boutique. Every time I drop by, I find the most charming outfits and toys that are perfect for my little Bichon boy. The store has a great vibe thanks to Phil and Cindy. So if you are looking for something special for your pet, this is the place to shop. I guarantee that you will not be disappointed.

High end pet store with high end prices but they have some lovely things and sale items were nice

Expensive, but high quality. Clothing is tailored for small dogs only, though. We got a snow suit and a raincoat, and both designs were well thought out: the rain coat had a flap over the hole for the leash, and a hood. The attendants were friendly and welcoming, and gave our dog a treat. They were also super accomodating with us asking for the snow suit out of season, and got it all the way from storage, which was greatly appreciated.

I Just happened to walk by this store on the way home and thought I would stop in to check it out. I've read previous reviews stating they only had small dog clothing. so I never really wanted to go. That was absolutely not the case. They took the time and effort to fit my 50 pound lab mix with several coats before I settled on the one I purchased. We walked home and she received two compliments along the way on how cute she. The Merchandise was higher quality and more unique than you would get at Petco.

Really cute boutique. my only negative is that it is only for smaller dogs. i wanted to buy a bandanna but they didn't have one that would fit my dog

Fantastic place for the dedicated pet parent. Great merchandise and awesome customer service. The owners have an impressive memory for each customer and you and your pet are always made to feel special.

Merchandise can be pricey, but ooooh it is worth every penny. 85% of stock is for dogs, the other 15% for cats. Despite this planned unfair shared space, I managed to get 2 presents for Bella. An adorable mat to hold her dishes and keep the floor clean. Best gift was a sardine can, filled with catnip "fish". Bella has received gifts from past visits, including a crystal red charm for her collar, and a new leash. Well merchandised, organized, friendly and informative staff. Bring your dog with you. There is an iron dog door jamb and a bowl of water waiting for him or her to arrive.

Love this store. Been popping in for years now and can always find the best things to spoil my girl with. I love their blankets, dog carriers and fun toys. Zan is always very happy too. Definitely worth a stop by to spoil your furry friends.

It wouldn't be the Gold Coast without a boutique pet store! I got a harness for my dog here that never wore out and she continues to stay warm in the winter with her new coat. They have a range of prices, but it is on the more expensive side so this is a "treat yourself" sort of pup store. My favorite are the pun-tastic squeaky toys. My dog has the "Tory Bark" "Furcedez Benz" and an "IPAW'D"!

They also carry treats, rawhide, and plenty of beautifully decorated cookies. The service is extremely friendly and there is always a friendly face to help you find what you need for your furry friend and they helped me make informed decisions for my dog's harness/leash and coat.

It is a wonderful place to shop. The owners Philip and Bruce have a nice line of clothing. I love their merchandise. Cindi is awesome. She knows people by name. This is a wonderful boutique shop for 4 legged animals.

The ladies working here were very helpful but were not pushy and let me browse on my own without bugging me. My pups will be very happy with their birthday treats.

The customer service at a boutique with boutique pricing should be at a commensurate level.

My puppies and I absolutely love this place. They have the Cutest collection of everything from toys to treats. Even my husband love the peanut butter flavored treats that they have on the treat table. I always have to buy extra because my hubby and puppies fight over who gets the treats when I come home with a tails in the city bag

Great little boutique! Clean and cozy. Always friendly owners and staff. I am a frequent visitor there to get tasty treats and cute outfits for my beloved dog. It's a little pricey, but what isn't considering their prime location downtown Chicago.

A fun pet boutique shop in Chicago with some items I have not seen elsewhere! We really fell for the treats they make special, such as the pretzel shaped treat with nonpareils. Oh and the bone shaped treat with I (heart) Chicago was adorable and nicely sized! We were on our way out when a super cute red and green collar caught our eye. Reminiscent of the old school Gucci colors and style we had to take one for our pup!

Once home we put the collar on, love how it fits, really appreciate that it is adjustable for long-term use, and has kept its color, etc. even after lots of time in the sun, woods, and lake water! Be sure to stop at this fun and enjoyable shop!

Been shopping here for 7 years since I got my first adult dog, Bruce and Phillip have really created the Neiman Marcus for our puppies. The only critique I have is they need more merchandise. I love their entire staff, Cindy has styled my dog yes I said she has styled my dog for 7 years. I love this place

Tiny, cute little doggie boutique. They have lots of unique doggie toys and treats that you can't find anywhere else.and their Instagram is full of adorable photos of their pupstomers. Want a dog birthday cake? They have it. Need stylish poop bags? You can buy them by the roll. Does Frank the Frenchie need his own Starbarks cup? Get it here. Tails in the City is the perfect place for a new pup gift or just a stop by to spoil your own. And surprisingly, metered street parking was easy to find on a Friday afternoon.

If you have a pet or need a special gift, you need to stop into Tails In The City. There is a huge selection of everything. Clothes, collars/leashes, treats and accessories. I bought the cutest blanket and pretty dress for Easter for my sweet baby Fancy. While I was there a girl came in with her puppy. The staff were so good to the puppy and just as helpful to me, who was shopping without my dog.

Although the prices are a bit high, the quality and variety make it worth it. Street parking could be difficult but bus and Uber would make this an easy stop. The neighborhood is very walkable too.

Visiting Chicago on business, so I just had to find a pet boutique to buy some gifts for our new puppy. It's a pretty small shop with a huge selection. Most of the sweaters and vests are incredibly cute, but at $45-60 per item, it's too expensive for a puppy that will outgrow it in a few months. So I passed on those. Instead, I went with 3 toys - a caterpillar, a crocheted/roped shark, and a Frenchie Roast frap hahahahaha.

Also got 2 cookies to go as the staff told me that it stays fresh for 6 weeks. Would've loved to bring my puppy in to let him choose his own toys, but I think he'll be happy with my selection!

Cute little boutique with friendly staff, trendy toys, clothes and accessories that are hard to find! Some items can be looked as "over priced" by others but honestly the product looks and feels great and even cuter on your pet! I like to buy special pieces occasionally but in general just love visiting the place with my puppy cause he loves the excitement of meeting the staff and other pets that come through!

Just recently, we participated in their annual Picture with Santa! Waiting in line with other people with their pets (in the snow/rain) was so much fun and loved seeing the other puppies in their cute outfits! Please visit this cute establishment- so worth it- and their team is just really great and try to get to know you and your pet!

I always thought my boyfriend's dog was very spoiled until I walked in Tails in the City today and saw all the cute little dogs parading around in their trendy coats and booties (some of these dogs probably spend more on their outfits than I do). I couldn't let Summer be the outcast among the group so I picked out an adorable pink sweater and a collar.

I can't justify spending the same amount of money on a dog sweater that I spend on my own sweaters so I hit the sale bins. Much more affordable and just as cute! The sales associate was very friendly and helped me find the right size sweater for Summer. She also assured me I could return the items at any time if they didn't fit. I noticed that she seemed to know all her regular customer's dogs names, which I thought was a great personal touch.
