Our recovery and adoption center takes in injured, neglected or unwanted cats and dogs from county shelters. We are supported completely by donations. If each of us give a little, we can prevent the needless killing of many in county shelters thru spay/neuter efforts. Be part of this this lifesaving project. Over 15 million healthy animals are killed in our country's shelters every year.

South Florida is one of the largest contributors to this tragedy. Free and affordable spay and neuter along with public education will help us reach the goal of "getting to zero".

Services
We are a non-profit, animal rescue shelter and adoption center. Our shelter takes in emergency, abuse and neglect cases as well as dogs and cats from various animal control agencies in Palm Beach, Dade and Broward Counties in South Florida. We offer cats and dogs for adoption 6 days a week. One of our goals is to address the overpopulation problem of stray and feral cats by offering the public a humane trap/spay/return service. Our program includes vaccinations, Aids/Leukemia testing, recovery & release, foster homes, medical care, and an adoption program.
Collect items from our wish list: Cleaning supplies; paper towels, trash bags, bleach, laundry soap, hand sanitizer, etc. Pet supplies: pine or clay cat litter, wet cat or dog food, toys, beds, towels, throw rugs, scratching posts, sheets, leashes, folding cages, etc. Transport rescued pets to our adoption center and clinic. Become a humane feral cat trapper. Become a foster parent for kittens or puppies or recovering animals. Plan a fundraising event.

Incredibly nice people who are in it to help animals. Vet services at the most reasonable prices around today (6/22). Tiny, no frills facility. If your pet needs vaccines, take them there. If you want to adopt- check with them first! They have a large selection of kittens & young cats up for adoption. Dogs, too. Limited parking, & they will come outside to help those who must use a wheelchair because the building is very small.

My mom & I went today to adopt a beautiful dog, we saw him on their website, submitted an application then made an appointment to meet the dog. We are so happy to make him part of our family. The team at Animal Aid are amazing, this place is crazy busy and they run it so well. Amy was so wonderful with my mom, helping her get her new dog ready to go to his new home. Amy answered all of our questions. We even received help getting our vehicle out of the parking lot- THANK YOU. I will recommend this shelter to everyone and anyone looking for a forever friend.

After hearing $400, $600, $500 and even heard $100 just to tell me how much the spaying would cost I finally found Animal Aid by luck while desperately searching for a vet. $145 is very fair and like everyone has said the staff was very friendly and caring and work their butts off, they were so busy and still got my cat spayed and back to me same day. I'll Def recommend this place to everyone and will be bringing my male cat to them next, thanks Animal Aid!

Wonderful experience with entire staff, especially Diane & Tamara. All my questions were answered & they educated me @ the SNIP Voucher Program which saved me $200! I took my stray adult Calico cat to get spayed & 1 of 6 kittens to be vaccinated & treated for fleas. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this organization

I went to Animal Aid, not having been there before to seek treatment for small dog in need of dental services. They referred me to Total Vet Care next door to them for service. Very thankful for their recommendation. To my knowledge, Animal Aid is a pet adoption facility.

There is a new Vet behind animal aid. It's called Total Pet Care Animal Hospital. Dr Alex is AMAZING, and his wife Vivian is the Vet tech. Beautiful facility! They have huge fenced in kennels. It is super clean and affordable.

Took my kitten who was previously a stray to get spayed, immunized and microchip! The staff was very caring, not expensive and welcoming. I highly encourage everyone when looking to adopt a pet to look into animal shelters and also organizations such as this place!

Please adopt from this incredible non-profit organization! And donate if you can. They do excellent work caring for many animals and do great screening to find good homes for the cats and dogs. All the people I've dealt with have been super friendly and professional. They care about what they do and it shows. I've adopted several cats from them who have been awesome family members we love. I also make regular donations as I know it's going towards making other animals get the care they need and hopefully forever homes they deserve.

I adopted my dog from them when she was just 3 months old. I am very grateful to Animal Aid for letting me adopt this wonderful little angel dog. This shelter goes above and beyond caring for animals and making sure they get a good home, along with proper medical care. I return there every year for their low-cost vaccinations. They are a nonprofit, and I have them as my favorite charity on Smile. Amazon.com.

In my humble opinion, they are the best shelter in the Ft. Lauderdale area, in light of the compassionate care of homeless dogs and cats. They do so much with so little. Low-cost spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations. I highly recommend them.

Visited them more than a year ago with two dogs getting shots, after getting chastised by them regarding the nails on our Yorkie that got groomed regularly, I would've never returned. Fast forward to today and we brought in an 8 week kitten that some scumbag left on the side of I-595 WB and this little guy fell through a drainpipe 30+ feet. I rescued him, got him checked out at our vet and brought him here for a neuter. Alas, after the tongue lashing from the intake employee, I was done listening to it.

As I was leaving, a woman was coming in with her elderly cat to humanely put it down. She was told she couldn't be present while the cat was put down, by orders of the vet?!?!? If that's true, I hope this woman went somewhere else and held her pet as it looked for her as their eyes closed for that final time here on Earth.

I was going to set up an adoption with a cat that looked like a cat that I lost to cancer a few months back, and I know this cat would need to have a furever home, but I was denied because I was told that they do not allow the cats to be outside without a leash. I have had cats for 18 years and never had one leave the yard, which is fenced in and protected.

In addition to the adoption, I was set up to do a monthly donation to the organization to help them with their cost, but because I was denied, I will be removing the donation at this time and finding another organizations that listen to people and how well they have taken care of the cats for all these years. Please consider other places to adopt, this is not the only place to adopt from, I am sure there are other cats that need good homes.

I just adopted a cute but scared little dog from Animal Aid. I needed to save this little soul from his circumstances. He is physically in great condition and starting to become comfortable in his new home. They are so great at animal aid. Tamara who started Animal Aid really cares about the animals. This is a non profit and is run on donations. Please go adopt, buy pet supplies, they do low cost spay and neuter, low cost shots, don't forget to donate or bring them supplies for the dogs or start a fundraiser.

They really care. I adopted an Italian Greyhound with many issues from them in hopes to be able to rehabilitate him. After over 5 months it seemer as though it wasn't going to work out for him or our household. I almost surrendered him back, however, their knowledgeable dog trainer was there and after consulting with him, we decided to work on bonding with the Greyhound. Everyone there is kind, friendly, non judgemental, and very caring.

My mom and I have adopted several cats from them the past 7 years. We are eternally grateful to the volunteers and the outstanding hard work of the FT Lauderdale and Deerfield locations. This is an incredibly important no kill shelter that has saved thousands of pets. Please become an angel to support their important lifesaving work.

I have been to more than 10 vets from new jersey to florida for two years to try and help my baby oscar. He has suffered from a face wound that was wrongfully treated for two years no one could figure it out. Originally i came to animal aid one day accepting the fact that he may have to be put to sleep and may not come home that day. I was sure that this is what i was going to hear.

For years, i have been spending my life savings trying to help this poor baby that i rescued from the street after he had been abandoned. THESE ANGELS at animal aid have given me the gift of happy tears and given my baby the chance at a better life. That day that i dropped him off i expected to receive a call saying im sorry theres nothing we can do but instead i got REAL RESULTS. Tamara and the doctors that volunteer precious time for animals are nothing short of ANGELS and beautiful people. Tears are streaming down my face as I type that they have found a resolution when no one else could.

My heart is overwhelmed with happiness. I will forever support this eatablishment of caring souls! To nee comers, PACIENCE is key. They are very busy and sometimes it will take longer than you hope for answers but believe me you will get real results. Do your part on following up and be patient! Good service takes time! Thank you animal aid and Tamara for founding such a beautiful thing, I am forever in your debt xo.

Friendly helpful staff. So happy to know there is a place like Animal Aid out there that can help me with caring for my animals. They take donations of most any kind to help homeless animals. Please visit them in the Festival Marketplace to adopt an animal Booth 3527.

I have been doing cat rescuing and neutering for 7 years. I only moved to Fort Lauderdale recently and a neighbor told me about Animal Aid. She and I have gotten six feral cats in our neighborhood neutered in the past few months. I've been impressed with how much they can do in such a small location. I think the owner and volunteers are extremely kind and work their heads off.

You can see some of the cats and dogs that they are trying to nurse back to health when you walk in the front door. There's usually a half recovered puppy wandering under their feet as they try to check in animals for neutering and answer questions, set up appointments, and give advice. I highly recommend Animal Aid. You can get a voucher through the Broward County website and have your animal neutered and get a rabies shot for free.

Be sure to call ahead of time and find out what days they're open and what their hours are on any given week. Don't be discouraged if you go in and it's a little crowded. They move pretty quickly!

The most genuinely animal-loving organization period! I really have no idea how this place can help so many families and do soooo many things well below cost and still function. It really all comes from the genuine animal-loving heart of the staff and the amazing network of donors and helpers who volunteer their time to keep things going. Simply amazing. Tamera really is an angel. It is a good thing humans can't donate kidneys to dogs, otherwise she'd be well out of them already. She really is amazing.

DO NOT BRING YOUR PET TO THIS BUTCHER SHOP. If there were an option for zero stars I would give it to them. Do NOT EVER bring your dog to be spayed here or any other animal for that fact. The staff doesn't make you feel comfortable to leave your pet with them. I brought my dog to be spayed by them and when I got there it was a very sketchy trailer that they do the surgery in.

I should've just trusted my gut feeling and not brought her there at all, the stitches started coming out and the wound started to open after TWO days post-op. My dog's stomach looked like they rolled it in to do the suture. I had to rush her to an emergency hospital because they didn't even answer the phone call for their emergency hotline after finding out they are closed Tuesday through Thursday. I will NEVER suggest this place to anyone that loves their pet because the service I received was despicable.
